Over in Las Vegas, celebs are prepping for tonight's taping of the 2012 Soul Train Awards.  Check out Tamar Braxton, Keyshia Cole, 2 Chainz & more getting their rehearsal on inside...

Will Tamar get a chance to show off those skills of hers she's been trying to put on display for years now?    She was indeed at the rehearsals yesterday at Planet Hollywood's PH Live--and may be taking the stage tonight.  In some way....

Photobucket

Not sure exactly why 2 Chainz needs to rehearse....since he just speaks in his songs saying the same 5 words over and over.  But to each their own.

Best R&B/Soul Male Artist nominee Miguel prepped for his set.

Keyshia Cole will be belting out a performance during tonight's taping.

Host Cedric The Entertainer was on hand for the run-throughs.

And cutie Elle Varner, who is nominated for Best New Artist, rocked her rehearsal in a cute look.

Soul Train Awards 2012 will air on BET and Centric on Sunday, November 25th at 9pm.

The Randomness:

1. A mother in Kenya who just gave birth to newborns named her babies Barack Obama & Mitt Romney.  Sigh.  STORY

2.  Jermaine Jackson says he wants to legally change his last name to a different spelling--Jacksun--for "artistic reasons".  STORY

BACK HOME: The Obamas Make Post-Election Arrival To The White House

It was a family affair as the First Family headed back home to the White House from their other hometown of Chicago after Tuesday's election.  Yesterday, President Obama escorted his wife First Lady Michelle, and their daughters, Sasha & Malia, back to DC via Air Force 1 & Helicopter 1.

Pics of the fab fam inside....

After an extremely long & we're sure, stressful, night of awaiting Presidential election results, the Obama fam made their way back home to DC to get back to work.  Hopefully Mr. President has time for at least a quick nap now that the election is over, but maybe not.  Now that he's won 4 more years....it's time to get to work smoothing over the seemingly impossible relations with the Republicans:

Our First Lady looked fly as usual, while Sasha & Malia rocked their casual looks of cute jeans and tees too.

Sahsa even rocked a cute Obama bag to support her dad.

Chris Brown's Rare Interview & Spread For PRESTIGE HONG KONG, Wants To Be The Steven Spielberg Of MUSIC VIDEOS

Posted: 07 Nov 2012 12:42 PM PST

Pop star Chris Brown granted a rare interview to PRESTIGE HONG KONG where he talked about his desire to be the Steven Spielberg of music videos, expanding his artisty in different directions and his idols Michael Jackson and Gene Kelly.  See the highlights and crotch-grabbing pics inside.....

 Photobucket

After the public fiasco of his GMA interview, Chris Brown's reps smartly banned him from doing big interviews, as he doesn't always put his best foot forward.  But now that he's achieved greater success with Fortune, F.A.M.E., and his Dum English artwork, a more mature Chris sat for a rare hour-long chat with international lifestyle magazine PRESTIGE HONG KONG where he reflected on his life and his art. And they ixnayed the Rihanna/Karrueche talk.  Here are the highlights:

What do you want the world to know about who you are and what you stand for?

As a 23-year-old young entertainer, I want the world to see my art and hopefully be inspired by it, promote positivity with what I do now – with painting, with fashion, with directing, with creativity as far as videos and cinema. I want to have people admire that and hopefully have people follow in my footsteps.

Turning to your music: your range is amazing. So many different genres. That’s kind of been your MO from the beginning, right?

Definitely with Fortune that’s the direction I wanted to go, but even with the F.A.M.E. album. What I wanted to do was not set the bar with a certain kind of style. I didn’t want people to say. “He’s just R&B.” Yes, I will sing an R&B song. But then I’ll do a pop song, then I’ll do a song with a country kind of feel, a reggae feel. I always want to be eclectic with my music. I don’t think music has a race. I think music has a soul and it’s just a feeling. What evokes the set of emotions from you is what I try to bring out...whatever flows, whatever I feel, I just write.

Whether they’re fun or super serious, the videos for Fortune are all mesmerising. How involved do you get in the developing the stories and visuals, and the production?

With the comedy videos like “Till I Die” – which I did with Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean – it was like, cool. Let’s have fun with it. Make a crazy video. Being able to direct by myself and have full creative focus and being able to know the cameras – that was the easiest part. The vision is the hard part. Whenever you’re sleeping, you have that dream or that nightmare and that’s your video. That’s how I kind of interpret it. Or whatever I see when I hear the music, whatever vision I see, I put it right onto paper and put it out on the video. Like the video for “Don’t Judge Me” – it was me going into a spaceship. Not to be arrogant when I say it, but I want to be the Steven Spielberg of music videos, to be innovative and young, not to put a bar on it just because of budgetary issues or certain capabilities.

All of them are like mini movies. The music and dance are great, but they also tell a story.

Back in the day, what inspired me as a teenager growing up was Fred Astaire, James Brown, Michael Jackson. Not their personal life or what they do when they go home, but the movies they made that took you to a land they made up when you saw them. Gene Kelly, too. A lot of different people. And a crazy, crazy amount of Broadway-like theatre stuff. When you can incorporate that, it intrigues the mind, lets you focus in on another place like when you watch a movie. It takes you somewhere where it’s not real life. That’s what I focus on in all my videos, why they’re like mini movies.

Tell me about your painting.

I’ve been painting secretly since I was a kid. A lot of people didn’t know that it was my hobby. I focused on doing the bad stuff at first with graffiti and vandalising as a kid. But as you get older, you start studying art books and sketchbooks in the libraries. I started getting better, like maybe three or four years ago. I met Ron English and Kid Zoom [Ian Strange] and they were just teaching me different techniques for painting. So my art started growing and I started doing it on my own. I finally got people to recognise it and I did a couple of art galleries – one in LA and one in New York – and I sold four out of my seven paintings. You know, I’m new. But my feet are in the water and that’s all it takes. I don’t think I want to conquer painting. It’s just something I love to do.

Acting is something else you do well. Was that something you discovered later in life?

Acting is just something that comes natural. I used to look in the mirror all the time, make funny faces, trying get my face right. Looking at Jim Carrey, looking at a lot of different movies. The key is that you pick up what you see all the time. That’s kind of where I got my Michael Jackson inspiration, my charisma. I did a couple of acting lessons, but when it comes down to it, I learned more from the actors on set, their energy and timing.

Ice Cube Says Another "Friday" Sequel Getting Made WITH OR WITHOUT Chris Tucker, WORKING On "NWA" Movie

Posted: 07 Nov 2012 10:50 AM PST

Photobucket

Ice Cube has spoken out about the next and final installment in the "Friday" series saying it will get made whether Chris Tucker is involved or not.  Get the deets on what the rapper said about Chris coming on board and his plans for an upcoming movie on NWA inside....

Rapper Ice Cube chatted with the HuffPost recently where he opened up about his latest cd, Everythang's Corrupt, and discussed upcoming movie projects involving NWA and the Friday series.

While discussing the Friday movies, Ice Cube addressed comments Chris Tucker made about "doubts" that the "magic" will still be there.  He said you can't comment on whether the "magic" is there when they've haven't begun filming or even tried anything out.  Cube added that "One person isn’t going to stop the show."    Hmmm...we guess that's a nice way of saying Chris can be replaced...if he doesn't act right.

He also talked about an upcoming movie he's producing about NWA and who he wants to play him. Here are the highlights:

Are there any updates on production of the NWA film?

They wasn’t on the set of the NWA movie. I don’t know where they was, cause we’re not even filming that yet. We’re still in the casting process, and it’s a Cube Vision Production. We’re still working on casting and the script. I haven’t seen the photo, but I can guarantee you that wasn’t where it was from unless they were location scouting. So you know, it’s a thing where I want everybody to be involved with the movie in some capacity -- all of the members, so everyone is welcome.

Who do you want to portray Ice Cube?

My son, O'Shea. He looks like me, and he can rhyme. He knows Ice Cube better than any actor, and I think he can do it. So we’re going to have him audition and hopefully he’ll show that he has the skills.

Fans are also anticipating the next and final installment of the “Friday” franchise. And earlier this year Chris Tucker admitted that he has “doubts” about the magic still being there. What are your thoughts?

Well, my magic is still here so the movie is going to get done. The movie is going to be funny, and it’s going to live up to all the long-anticipated wait. I would hope that he’ll be a part of it. He’s more than welcome to be a part of it … It’s a trip, because you’re looking and somebody says that “the magic is not even there” who’s never even tried it.

We put the first one together and we can put another one together. So he should really trust that, and do what his fans want him to do. You should never out grow your fans. And if the fans want him to do this movie, that’s what we’re in this for, then that’s what he should do.

Do you have a tentative release date for the film or are you still writing the script?

Nah, it’s written. We’re just really waiting for New Line Cinema to give us their notes, and then the ball gets rolling from there to the next phase. So we really haven’t offered anyone the movie [roles] yet, until we can get the movie green lit, and get a budget. Then that’s when we can go after everybody that’s on the script and see if they’re down. But for whoever’s down, the movie is going to get made and the movie is going to be funny. One person isn’t going to stop the show.

Everythang's Corrupt will hit stores in January 2013.  Check out Huff Post's full interview HERE.
