Lil' Wayne's "THA CARTER IV" Set To Debut At #1, Close To 1 Million In Sales

Lil' Wayne hit the charts and Did It On 'Em with his latest LP, Tha Carter IV.  Not sure how he did it, since the buzz surrounding it was lackluster at best, but he's surpassing sales predictions and quickly approaching platinum status in its first week out.  Yet again.  Deets inside...

 

According to HITS Daily Double, Lil' Wayne's Tha Carter IV disc is set to debut on Billboard's Hot 200 at #1, having sold between 925,000-975,000 copies already 

Sales of the album far surpassed earlier predictions which hovered around the 850,000-900,000 range.  And with Labor Day music sales expected to fall in Weezy's favor, he could hit 1 million by Wednesday.  

But even if he doesn't cross the million-dollar mark, Weezy still had the second biggest sales week of the year. He is topped only by Lady Gaga who sold 1.1 million units of Born This Way in one week.

BAD NEWS FOR JADA: TNT CANCELS "HawthoRNe"

After 3 seasons, TNT has cancelled its scripted drama, "HawthoRNe," starring Jada Pinkett-Smith.  This is all on the heels of the rumors of Jada and hubby Will's split and alleged infidelity, which both sides deny, between Jada & co-star Marc Anthony.

Deadline Hollywood received this sttement from the TNT network:

TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of HawthoRNe. TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in HawthoRNe. The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with HawthoRNe nothing but the best.

Lenny Kravitz Rocks Out The "Today Show"

Lenny Kravitz rocked the "Today Show" stage this AM for the Summer Concert Series.  The sey rocker performed his classics and some new tracks for the fans.

"Battleship" Star Rihanna DISHES On Kicking Butt In Her New Movie + PETA BLASTS Rihanna For Animal Abuse

Battleship star Rihanna, who was spotted out at dinner in Cali yesterday, opened up about her exciting new film recently, revealing that she injured herself performing her own stunts.

Back from her vacation in Italy, Rihanna was spotted dining out in L.A. last night.  The "Fly" singer had dinner with a friend at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica:

She looked a little "preoccupied" as the photographers snapped her picture. 

One reason for that may be her father's recent illness.  Also, she recently filed a lawsuit, regarding her new home, saying it requires many improvements she wasn't made aware of.  
 

But one bright spot is that she'll soon to make her big screen debut in the Peter Berg-directed film Battleship (debuting May 18, 2012), which co-stars Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgard, and Taylor Kitsch.

During a recent interview, she revealed that she performed many of her own stunts in the film where she stars Navy weapons officer Raikes, an alien hunter.

 “She’s a fighter, she’s a killer,” explained RiRi. “I’m one of the boys. We do everything together. We go on all our missions together.”

She explained that her character allowed her the opportunity to pay tribute to the men and women of the armed forces who protect our country.

“They’re real men and women—everyday heroes, fighting everyday. It’s really good to represent that.”

Rihanna sparked an outrage with the folks over at PETA, who issued a statement attacking her for wearing feathers and they even threw her domestic violence incident in her face.

PETA spokeswoman Sandra Smiley told the Daily Star,

 'Rihanna is flaunting stolen property, in this case feathers possibly plucked right off their rightful owners’ backs. She has shown little regard for foxes, cows and reptiles, now she’s adding birds to the list of species exploited for her dubious looks.

Feathers are often ripped off chickens, geese, ostriches and emus in live plucking. This can result in gaping wounds that are sewn up with a needle and thread without anaesthetic.

Then she hit below the belt saying,

'We keep hoping that Rihanna, a victim of violence herself, will learn to open her heart and start empathising with the suffering of others."

SMH.....PETA might be jumping the gun on this one as neither Rihanna nor the Fashion house of Antonio Berardi have publicly commented about the origin of the feathers.  It could just be some fancy thread work....

It's ANOTHER GIRL For Mel B.!

Mel B. welcomed another baby girl early this morning!  After being spotted arriving to the hospital in what looked like major pain, she finally dropped the baby from her belly and gave her and hubby Stephen their first child together.

 

Deets inside...

Mel has 2 daughters from previous relationships--Phoenix Chi and Angel Iris.  And now her 3rd baby girl will join the family as well.

It's unclear if Mel had a natural birth as just days before her labor, she talked about doing all types of inducements and tactics to actually get the baby out as it seemed like the youngin' was taking her sweet time coming into the world.

Mel tweeted:

"Finally our baby arrives, Stephen nearly passed out, Phoenix screamed, I laughed so hard the baby popped out!!! She is just sooo amazing!!"

And a spokesperson for the 36-year-old mom of 3 said in a statement:

"This evening Melanie Brown and husband Stephen Belafonte welcomed their new baby girl in Los Angeles. This is the first child for Mel and Stephen and both mum and baby are happy, healthy and doing well."

Sweet.  CONGRATS MEL!

 

 

BACK IN CUSTODY ALREADY? T.I. In Trouble With Feds Over Luxury Bus Ride

We told you yesterday that T.I. had been released from prison, but now after some -ish involving a bus ride, he's back in custody. Get the deets on T.I.'s ride inside...

 

Rapper T.I. is back in federal custody at a federal penitentiary today after he received flack from the feds about using a luxury bus to transport him from Arkansas to Atlanta to his assigned halfway house. 

His lawyer, Steve Sadow told The Associated Press that the Federal Bureau of Prisons 'has moved T.I. to a different facility' because,

"There appears to be confusion surrounding the method of transportation," Sadow said.

He may only be in custody for the time being while they move him to a different halfway house.  Traci Billingsley, a spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, said she couldn't comment on  T.I.'s status and no other info was released.

As of now, the prison agency's website says T.I. was "in transit."

Teyana Taylor: You Never Put Your Hands on a Female. Period.

Teyana Taylor is shedding light on the drama surrounding her and her recent big brawl with her movie director, Jean-Claude Lamarre.  She got her clothes ripped and face slapped when trying to leave the set to tend to her serous tooth issue.  And Lamarre gave his side of the story earlier today, now here's hers.

 

Oh, and we have an insider's take from a tipster who says the director likes to sleep with young girls to get them to do his movies...

 

Allegedly, this director who is working on Gang of Roses 2, is known int he industry for his shady behavior with young girls and moeny.  Here's a tip that was sent in to us today--we can't personally confirm or deny.  But this is an insider's take on the alleged person Lammare is:

Ask your Black actress friends about Jeanclaude Lamarre. He is known for sh*tty straight to dvd movies, but NOTORIOUS in Hollywood for sleeping with young girls and promising them roles in movies, even though he is married with 2 small children. He has gotten into a fight before on a David E. Talbert production years ago in NY. He his a FEMALE co-star. Even in college he was notorious for fighting and stealing money from his school. Here is the NY Times article about him swindling money from CUNY.  If you have any Black actress friends that you are close to, ask them about this guy. I was not on that set, but I am willing to bet money this dude hit her first. In fact the producer on that roses movie is 22 and has been one of his many sidechicks for YEARS. And I don't wish to have my email address known, for fear of retaliation from this guy. You have no idea!

 

And it doesn't end there.  Teyana spoke out herself today and gave a detailed recount of what really went down on the set when the brawl took place.  She told Global Grind he didn't have hair and makeup sevices for them, a barely-there trailer, it was unprofessional, and he didn't care about her well-being:

Honestly at this point you know how when you're just tired of all the drama, I’m just so over it and what that story (TMZ) sounds like, honestly it sounds like he was trying to promote his movie, that’s all that is. At the end of the day you don’t put your hands on any female, it was very unprofessional. That whole environment was very unprofessional, very inappropriate. It was just things that my eyes shouldn’t have seen. For him to put his hands on me was really hurtful. I don’t have a dad, I never had a dad and I ain't about to have one today. I have never had a man raise his hand at me. It’s very emotional for me, it’s a very sensitive subject and at the end of the day, right is right and wrong is wrong. You never put your hands on a female. Period.

When I came on set there was no food, there was no hair stylist, no make-up and the trailer was the size of my tub. I had to get my agent and my mom, who is my manager, involved and then we started getting hair and make up, but that only lasted for one day. He was just mad because I came in there and he felt that I was about my business and he didn’t like that and it felt like he already had a grudge against me. I was really supposed to only film for five days. The day me and him got into that altercation, that was day seven. Out of the kindness of my heart I came to do extra scenes for him so he would have an ending to his movie.

On that day, my face was very, very swollen because of a problem with my tooth. That tooth thing was no joke. I could’ve died right there on set and he wouldn’t have even cared. That’s the point because he was more worried about himself. It was about him wanting to get his movie done so it was like, forget her tooth, her face is swollen but I want her to film more parts and I really don’t care if her face is swollen. He didn’t care and it took him to ignore my illness more than three times for me to finally raise my voice. I walked up to him and I was like -- I walked to him crying, like my tooth is really hurting, my face is getting worse, I really have to go and he was like "Yeah okay … whatever..." He turned around and kept going about his business. So I raised my tone and I said look, I can't wait a minute, I can't wait two minutes, I can’t wait a second, I really, really need to go. He turned around and he said 'Don’t f*cking scream at me b*tch' and smacked his hand across my face and from there I defended myself.
 

A video chick and her man being your main co-stars should have been the first clue this wasn't going to be a "professional" Hollywood blockbuster.  But still, a fight should have never taken place and a man should never touch a female--especially one half their age.  There's always 3 sides to a story but this is looking real crazy on all sides....

BABY'S FIRST NIKES: Tia Mowry Hardrict Shows Off Baby Cree's Cute Air Force 1's

How cute is this baby boy!  "The Game" actress Tia Mowry Hardrict tweeted a pic of her baby boy Cree rocking his first pair of sneakers.

2-month-old Cree Taylor Hardrict is ready to run.  Not really, but at least he looks the part.  Mommy Tia showed off his first pair of Air Force 1's.  Gotta love a laid back baby with style...

Tia's been working out non-stop to get back into tip-top shape for the new season of "The Game."  I'm sure she'll look fab as usual...

NEW COUPLE ALERT?: Nas & Antonique Smith (Faith Evans In "Notorious") Grab A Bite

Rumors have been swirling, and now they're about to swirl a bit harder.   The recently divorced rapper Nas was spotted wining and dining it up with actress Antonique Smith in West Hollywood.  Yep, the same Antonique who portrayed Faith Evans in the Notorious movie.  And the same Antonique he shouted out on his new single "Nasty."

Looks like Nas may have found another industry chick to keep him company. He hadn't even met her in person before when he said, "I’m after the actress who played Faith Evans/My little Jackie Onassis, dig?," in his new song "Nasty."  Last month, Antonique told XXL magazine that she wanted to actually meet him in person and maybe "do some music" together:

He shouted me out on the song, which I thought was really sweet. I had never met him before and he called me sometime after that and said that he was initially afraid that I’d be upset about it because he wasn’t sure how I took it, but I thought it was sweet. He’s really nice. Word for word, he’s an incredible rapper. I’ve always been a fan and that line is a really dope line. We’re going to do some music together.

Looks like she got her wish. 

 


 

Just a couple weeks ago, Antonique popped up on the Queens set of his new "Nasty" video.  Maybe making a cameo.  Maybe not.  And yesterday they were spotted in these pics having a lunch date.  It could just be all in the name of business.  But we wouldn't even be mad at her for trying to make it more.  Do you boo.

Antonique is appearing in the upcoming movies Abduction (with Taylor Lautner), Yelling To The Sky (with Gabby Sidibe and Zoe Kravitz), "RENT" on Broadway and will also be featured in the upcoming Hollywood Issue of VIBE mag.  Nas' new solo album will be dropping soon.

Tami Roman is a woman on the move.  In the latest issue of S2S she talks about "BBW", the show that's made her a household name and famous face again post-"Real World," as well as her outside life as a mother and business woman.

And there are big things coming up for Ms. Roman as she recently tweeted:
