In UPTOWN's June/July issue, cover guy Anthony Mackie rocks a few pre-fall looks and reveals he's just an "average guy." The Hurt Locker actor is one of Hollywood's newest IT Guys....and you already know we've got nothing but love for the New Orleans native. Deets inside.....
32-year-old actor Anthony Mackie graces the cover of UPTOWN Mag's June/July Home & Food issue where he's looking dapper in a pre-fall fashion spread. In addition to revealing some of his favorite foods, the Brooklyn restaurant owner (talk about diversifying assets) who portrayed Tupac in the Notorious film, opened up about fame, loving theater and being recognized by his peers. When asked to describe himself, The Adjustment Bureau actor said, "Average guy. If your car breaks down, I’m your guy. If you need a heartthrob, I’m not your guy. I’m dead serious.” Here are the highlights: On fame: “There’s a difference between being a working actor and being a celebrity … If you’re in this field you have to ask yourself that in the beginning and be honest with yourself. If you want to be a celebrity go after that 100 percent. If you want to be a working actor, it may mean doing a play that no one sees, but you love the craft.” On buying the hype: “Everybody was like ‘This is it, dog, you’re blowing up. I bought into it thinking that my ‘Denzel time’ had come. I was left there with egg on my face.” On being recognized for his craft: “Sometimes recognition and accolades and possessions aren’t exactly the gravy on the mash potatoes. Sometimes that’s the stuff that comes when it comes. If it doesn’t come, I’m not upset about it because that’s not what I’m looking for.” On his first love, theater: “It’s instant gratification. I know now that in certain aspects of my life, I’m a whore for attention. I love to be on stage … and I love to say something and hear the audience respond. It’s a drug.” On catching the acting bug: “I was reading and doing stuff that nobody else in school was. I’m in ninth grade reading Chekhov, Ibsen, and Shakespeare. I was doing plays downtown. It was fun.” On his legacy: “I love where I am right now. If I grow up to be Don Cheadle, I’m very happy with that.”

Ludacris, Keri Hilson and Far East Movement linked up with Bing yesterday to help renovate and restore a historic school in Atlanta. Get the deets on their good deed inside....
Yesterday, Keri Hilson, Ludacris and Far East Movement volunteered alongside Bing and DoSomething.org volunteers to help restore Osborne High School in Atlanta, GA.
As the oldest school in Cobb County, Osborne was in need of a little retouching. So Keri, dressed in a cute look of denim shorts and an off the shoulder studded tee and brightly laced sneakers, lent a hand....and a paintbrush.
She created a mural designed to inspire and empower young girls, which featured her own quote: “Dream in color, wake up to a blank canvas, then paint your life with all the colors your hear desires.” For her fans, she hinted that she’s been working with Timbaland in Miami on some new tracks.
She also has some fun with the group Far East Movement ("Like A G6").
Meanwhile, Ludacris worked on almost all the school’s projects including Keri’s mural, as well as a Do Something That Matters mural in the cafeteria.
He also helped decorate the school’s newly-purchased Cardinal Community Classroom. The mobile classroom will help supply books and other educational materials for the local community.
Luda is currently in the studio working on his new album Ludaversal, and said he'd like to collaborate with Eminem. Artists lending a hand in creative ways is something we always think is fab!

It was a painfully hot night in the City, but Solange looked every bit the cool summer bronzed and fab chick with this look. Loves it! The repo man is looking for former "BBW" star Jennifer Williams because she's late on her car note...to the tune of $92,310! Get the deets inside......
The Toyota Motor Credit Corporation in Syosset, NY has filed a lawsuit against former "BBW" star Jennifer Williams saying she's been deliquent on her car payments for years! The lawsuit alleges that Jen stopped sending payments for her used 2006 white Bentley way back in 2009! So now, the company wants their car back and for Jen to pay the outstanding balance of $92,310! One of Jen's reps told TMZ that "Jennifer hasn't been served documents in reference to this lawsuit. Anything related to community property acquired during the marriage, such as the car, is an issue that is currently being addressed in her divorce proceedings." Hmm....so essentially she wants Eric to come out of pocket. The lawsuit couldn't come at a worse time for Jen as she's recently been axed from her meal ticket, "BBW." Her friend Shaunie O'Neal recently spoke out about the firing saying it was a production decision and she wasn't involved. Um....ok Shaunie! |

"Touch It" singer Monifah sat for a revealing interview recently dishing on her cocaine addiction, her upcoming reality show and her friendship with Heavy D. Deets inside......
Who knew singer Monifah was addicted to cocaine for 7 years? The singer, pictured above on far right with fellow "R&B Divas" Faith Evans, Monifah, Syleena Johnson and Keke Wyatt at fellow castmember Nicci Gilbert's fashion show, chatted it up with JustTheFab recently. She reflected on Heavy D, her struggles in the industry, her drug addiction and her new reality show. After being discovered by Heavy D in the 90s, Monifah says she went on a roller coaster ride in the industry that left her emotionally scarred. Though her first album was a success (remember "I Miss You"?), she says her professional relationship with Heavy D became strained during her second project. The pair's friendship soon fell apart and she said she regrets that she didn't speak to him before he died. After losing her record deal, 41-year-old Monifah said she was forced to deal with her abandonment and rejection issues...and it didn't go so well. While still struggling with the deaths of several family members (including her father), she turned to cocaine for seven years to numb the pain. But now she says she's been sober for over a year and is ready for the next chapter. This next chapter will actually be a new TVOne reality show called "R&B Divas." She'll star alongside Faith Evans, Syleena Johnson, Keke Wyatt and Nicci Gilbert. Monifah promised that the show will have its drama, but the real intent is to focus on positive resolutions. I'll be watching...

Actress Lauren London has reportedly landed a lead role on BET's "The Game," filling the void left by Tia Mowry. Deets inside.....
With the departures of Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall leaving a huge void, TV Line has announced that gorgeous actress Lauren London has come on board. We told you earlier about BET looking for fresh faces to play two new characters who will become the lead roles, and mom of one Lauren got the female lead. Her recent roles on "Single Ladies" and Madea's Big Happy Family must have raised some eyebrows. The former ATL actress will play Kiera, who is a former child star who has a job on a popular sitcom. So far, the network has not announced an actor to play "Bryce," the Ivy League educated all-star running back. And for season 6, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez, Barry Floyd and Brandy Norwood will all be back!

Pcs of the couple inside, plus pics of Bobby Brown and his new wife Alicia Etheredge Brown parlaying in Hawaii days after their wedding.... While the east coast faced 90+ degree temps today, Kanye & Kim chilled out in Paris in cooler weather--hence Kim's polished look of a turtle neck tunic, Spanx and python thigh high Louboutin boots. The twosome continued their Parisian escapade at Maison Martin Margiela and Colette today to pick up some designer threads. Yet another thing these two are just aline on--their shopping & fashion obsessions. At least you can share it with your lover.
Not sure how much longer these two will be away from America...Kim can only stay away from party red carpets and her promoting herself at appearances for so long.
Meanwhile, back in the states, Bobby Brown and his new bride Alicia were spotted on the beach yesterday just 1 day after their Hawaiian nuptials that went down this past Monday:
They spent their first day as husband & wife enjoying the sun, sea and sand on the beautiful island of Oahu. Alicia swapped her ivory wedding dress for a two piece bikini & a huge wedding band. The pair was seen taking a romantic walk along the shore while watching their first sunset together as a married couple.
Even their son Cassius got in on the ocean fun.
The happy couple was also seen with friends (we see you Ronnie) and family.

Lil' Kim and her omnipresent cameltoe made a tour stop in Austin, Texas yesterday donning a green sparkling catsuit. We're not mad at it. It's Kimmy dammit. We've seen worse. And we still love her.
And clearly her fans do too. Lil' Kim's comeback "Return of The Queen" tour took over Emo's as she performed a medley of hits. We hear the crowd went insane the entire time. Clearly folks have missed the Queen Bee... The rapper also recently with public with her relationship with underground rapper Mr. Papers.

Gabriel Aubry, Halle Berry's ex and father to their 4-year-old daughter Nahla, just scored a major victory in his custody battle with Halle Berry. Although a child support order was put in place, Gabriel has one now. And it's a whopper-- $20,000 a month! So Gabe may have a boost in his income now, but I wonder would he still get support if Halle gets to move Nahla to Paris? This will get interesting. BONUS:
Speaking of celeb moms and their kiddies, Toni Braxton and her son Diezel are taking their mother/son dynamic to the small screen for LIFETIME.
