Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy Get it together, NBC! Your network is in a tailspin since dismissing Ann Curry and butchering the Summer Olympics! As most of us remember, today marks the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in D.C. and the Big Apple. The government observed a moment of silence this morning and, as far as we can tell, every other major network cut into their programming to allow their viewers to watch their Commander-in-Chief speak to his country and give remembrance. Every network except for NBC! Ch-ch-check out Savannah Guthrie interviewing Kris Jenner about the new season of her reality TV show (above) while 8:46AM, the moment the first plane hit the Twin Towers and the moment President Obama addresed his nation 11 years later, ticks right on by. We keep up with The Kardashians too but when network's flagship morning "news" program foregoes covering major news talk about a reality star's fake tittays it's a troubling faux pas at best. TODAY has hemorrhaged viewers and goodwill all summer long and this latest debacle is no way to regain it's audience's good graces! |

Posted: 11 Sep 2012 01:22 PM PDT A refreshing change of pace from the girl who invaded our ears this summer with her adorable sound! Carly Rae Jepsen is preparing for the release of her debut album KISS (Sept 18!!), and to prove she is more than just a pop sensation, the Call Me, Maybe dominator recently sang an acoustic, live rendition of the legendary Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now (above)! While Carly's sweet and light voice lacks some of Joni's depth, emotional infusion, and pure vocal skillz, this is NOT a bad cover of the beloved classic, although it does paint the tune in a more positive, fun light than the original does. We're diggin' it! We wanna hear MORE covers from Carly! Perhaps she should try her hand at Death Metal? Ska? We would simply DIE if she covered Sublime's Caress Me Down... Uhhhhhhh! Ha! |
| Chris Hemsworth Picks Up His Hammer To Film Thor: The Dark World Posted: 11 Sep 2012 01:09 PM PDT Following the record-setting success of The Avengers, Chris Hemsworth is back to work as the mighty God of Thunder in Thor: The Dark World. The production shot what looks like a major battle scene for the film in England on Tuesday. Thor was joined by his seksi pal Sif, played by Jaimie Alexander, who not only kicks a lot of ass, but has a knack for creating portals between dimensions... Maybe...to this world without lights we're hearing so much about??? We'll definitely find out what happens when Marvel's future blockbuster hits theaters on November 8, 2013, but we'll probably have a pretty good idea of what will happen before that too. Katie Couric's new daytime kiki hour debuted on Monday afternoon to the genre's strongest ratings in a decade! With Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow's help, the premiere garnered a 2.8 household rating, which easily crushed Steve Harvey by 87%, Jeff Probst by 150% and (we're a little sad about this next one) Ricki Lake by 250%! No love for Ricki? We were SO excited for her return to television and really thought more people would be too! We totally understand and are not surprised by Couric's success, but how is an established icon of daytime talk being beaten by the host of Family Feud and Survivor??? [Image via ABC.] |
| Tara Reid Crashes Into A Motorcycle After A Wasted Weekend In St. Tropez! Posted: 11 Sep 2012 12:42 PM PDT Oh boy... things aren't looking too good for Tara Reid! Gurl was all sorts of a hot mess in St. Tropez, where after a night out, she found herself drunkenly stumbling all over the place! The worst part of it all? At one point, she actually fell ONTO a parked motorcycle... and they all came tumbling down! Not only that, but supposedly Tara and her friend had a hard time getting back up, even WITH the help of bystanders. This definitely doesn't sound like a good situation, especially for Tara, who had previously battled an alcohol addiction and went to rehab in 2009. Where was Jedward during all of this??? We sure hope she's taking care of herself... maybe this little fiasco will come as a bit of a wake up call to the actress. [Image via WENN.] |

The ex-couple enjoyed Mexican food at the Sherman Oaks Galleria before being photographed leaving TOGETHER in the parking garage and reportedly going back to her place. We're sure they'll say they are "just friends" who were having a private game night after catching up at dinner, but we know better. Ha! Demi has downplayed any suggestions that she is dating Horan and says she is focusing on her career right now, but that doesn't mean she can't have a little fun with a familiar face on her nights off... Beautiful KStew... really! Channel that raw emotion into all of the amazing, edgy movies you want to make and that golden statue could be yours!! During her promo schedule for On the Road, Kristen sat down with Scott Feinberg to discuss her new film with Garrett Hedlund. And while she gave a calm, eloquent interview for the most part, she let her emotion bubble toward the end. When Scott asked 'what do you (actors) do when you can't behave normally anymore,' Kristen gave a brutally honest answer. But she snipped it short and replied:
Since her attitude was heightening during her answer, her cutting it short could be seen as an apparent move to cure the impending word vomit. Cuz that flow of feelings could have very well leaked a thought or two about that whole *cheating on Robert Pattinson thing!* But at the end of the day, she kept her composure and owned that interview LIKE A BOSS! |
| Simon Cowell: The Search For Two X-ceptional Hosts Is STILL On! Who's Ruled Out? Posted: 11 Sep 2012 11:21 AM PDT We are only ONE day away from X Factor's highly anticipated season two premiere and the show STILL has no host! So many names have been thrown into the mix and although Simon Cowell revealed that he'd be looking for two hosts, -- a male and a female -- supposedly, an announcement will be made THIS week! However, there's now two potential candidates that have been kicked out of the running, to help us narrow down this guessing game! Simon recently spilled that neither Kelly Osbourne, who was rumored as a front runner, nor Glee's Seeing as Simon wants someone who was never a host before, we guess that's why Fashion Police's Kelly was ruled out. Seems that also would mean Mario Lopez is out, as well! That pretty much leaves us with Demi's top pick, Khloe Kardashian, and other rumored options like Chrissy Teigen, Kevin Jonas and Corbin Bleu!
