Serena Williams Braves The "Rape Comment" Backlash, Hits The Pre-Wimbledon Party In London Posted: 21 Jun 2013 09:06 AM PDT Serena Williams has had a major few weeks of headlines.  After winning the French Open for the second time earlier this month, folks were outraged by her comments about the Steubenville High School rape case in her latest Rolling Stone interview... In a tight white mini dress with a front black zipper trim, Serena's fave style it seems, the fab tennis pro threw on her doll-like wiggery (which she could have kept honestly) to hit the annual pre-Wimbledon party at Kensington Roof Gardens in London. But it was her recent comments she made to Rolling Stone about the high school boys in Steubenville, OH who were accused of raping a teen girl.  People said she was victim-blaming when she spoke up saying the victim was "lucky" (likely meaning lucky something worse didn't happen) and that girls should be taught how not to get themselves in situations like those (being drunk and not in control). I'm not blaming the girl, but if you're a 16-year-old and you're drunk like that, your parents should teach you—don't take drinks from other people. She's 16, why was she that drunk where she doesn't remember? It could have been much worse. She's lucky. Obviously I don't know, maybe she wasn't a virgin, but she shouldn't have put herself in that position, unless they slipped her something, then that's different." Serena's most recent statement alluded to her words being misconstrued by RS.  She said: "What happened in Steubenville was a real shock for me. I was deeply saddened. For someone to be raped, and at only sixteen, is such a horrible tragedy! For both families involved — that of the rape victim and of the accused. I am currently reaching out to the girl's family to let her know that I am deeply sorry for what was written in the Rolling Stone article. What was written — what I supposedly said — is insensitive and hurtful, and I by no means would say or insinuate that she was at all to blame. "I have fought all of my career for women's equality, women's equal rights, respect in their fields — anything I could do to support women I have done. My prayers and support always goes out to the rape victim. In this case, most especially, to an innocent sixteen year old child."   And despite all the backlash from the media and the masses, Serena stepped out with confidence last night:     She arrived ready to sign autographs for the fans and she chatted up the red carpet hosts. The "Original Fly Girl" In Dior Cops The 2,500th STAR On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame Posted: 21 Jun 2013 07:31 AM PDT From being an original Fly Girl on "In Loving Color"...to a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Jennifer Lopez, who's been named by Forbes as the richest person in entertainment of Latino descent, nabbed her much deserved award yesterday afternoon in front of the W Hotel.  And chick looked stunning as usual.   Check out the folks who came out to support her inside... Of course this flawless chick would twirl her way onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame in CHRISTIAN DIOR, the Pre-fall 2013 collection.  The gorgeous  cashmere & silk white & coral gown, accented with a bowtie belt, was accessorized with Brian Atwood platform black ankle strapped pumps and an animal print Valentino clutch.  And the actress/dancer/producer/philanthropist/businesswoman/fashion diva was spotted entering the space with her long time manager Benny Medina (not pictured): Her diamond H.Stern earrings matched her diamond ring, and she looked fabulous as usual for her big day. Keenan Ivory Wayans, who created "In Living Color", was on hand to give a tear jerker of a speech for J.Lo about the show where she made her first major tv debut as a dancer.  Jane Fonda, her co-star from Monster-In-Law (one of our faves....admit it, you've seen every cheesy J.Lo movie and loved it) was also there to give some words. HEAT-PEAT: The Miami Heat Are The 2013 NBA Champs! LeBron James Named MVP Posted: 20 Jun 2013 08:23 PM PDT LeBron, Dwyane & co. just copped another ring!  The Miami Heat just became your official 2013 NBA Champions for the second time in a row... It's a Heat-Peat!  The Miami Heat repeated grabbing another championship title Thursday night at American Airlines Arena in front of a capacity crowd that was a sea of white (tees that is). In a nail biter of a game that had everybody on pins and needles, Miami came out on top in a tough 95-88 win over the San Antonio Spurs. And, as you would expect, LeBron James--the current MVP of the regular season--was named the MVP of the Finals for the second time in a row.  When asked how he felt about all the negativity he faces from critics and folks off the court, Bron Bron pretty much said he couldn't give a damn,  and even quoted his frenemy Lil Wayne: I can't worry about what everybody says about.  I'm LeBron James from Akron, Ohio, from the inner city, and I'm not even supposed to be here.  That's enough.  Every time I walk into the locker room I see a #6 with James on the back, I'm blessed.  So what everybody say about me off the court don't matter.  I aint got no worries! THE BIG REVEAL: Kanye & Kim's Baby's Name Is..... Posted: 20 Jun 2013 07:28 PM PDT A while back, random reports were flying that Kanye West & Kim Kardashian would probably give their baby a completely directional name...like, North West.  And just when we thought that was a bit too crazy, even for these two, it's become a reality... According to the birth certificate, reportedly seen by TMZ, the 5-day old West baby officially has a name.  New parents Kim & Kanye have named their baby girl...North West. Yep, they actually went through with the (what we thought was) far-out name for their bouncing bundle of joy. And since that particular site has been pushing out news that is clearly straight from Kim's camp during her entire pregnancy, we're more than inclined to believe this name is indeed the truth. So, North West it is folks.  Kanye loves to be different, so we're sure he's loving this.  And we gotta admit, it's kinda cute. "RHOA" TIDBITS: Sheree Whitfield LANDS Gig With "Necessary Roughness" + Kenya Moore RESPONDS To EVICTION, SAYS Landlord Is JEALOUS Of Her Posted: 20 Jun 2013 04:57 PM PDT It looks like Sheree Whitfield is "going Hollywood" with a new role on the USA series "Necessary Roughness".  Get the deets on Sheree's new gig inside and see what Kenya Moore had to say about her recent eviction.     Former "RHOA" star Sheree Whitfield seems to be taking her acting seriously (well as seriously as she can) as she's posted a few pics from the set of the USA series "Necessary Roughness". Sheree has been cast to star in a series of webisodes called "TK Gets Real".  In six episodes of the interactive web series, Sheree plays herself and sets out to teach football player TK (played by the sexy Mechad Brooks) how to prepare himself for reality tv. We told you previously about "RHOA" star Kenya Moore being evicted from her home and now she's speaking out.  This morning, Kenya called into "The Wendy Williams Show" to share her side of the story.  Here are the highlights: On the eviction: "So first off, I want to go back to the ruling. First of all, we never got notice of our court date so that’s going to be overturned and we’ll have another court date, so it isn’t over until the fat lady sings.  Secondly, this is absolutely absurd! I’ve paid this woman nearly $52,000 in rent and she has a $6,000 security deposit of mine. I have paid her May rent and paid her June and my lease is up in three weeks, so this whole thing is absolutely ridiculous.” On almost having to get a restraining order on the landlord: "When I didn't move out when she wanted me to (she had to give me 60 days notice) it was like everyday she was coming in and out of the house. I almost had a get a restraining order against her." On her landlord being jealous: "I don’t know if it’s necessarily so personal. She's taking her ex-husband (back) to court. Ciara Keeps It Coy With Tim Westwood About Her Man Future...And Dishes Her Thoughts On Frenemy Rihanna's "Loveeeeeee Song" Posted: 20 Jun 2013 12:36 PM PDT   Ciara is across the pond in the UK where she's promoting the upcoming release of Ciara.  And she dished about working with Nicki Minaj, loving Future and weighed in on Rihanna's "Loveeeeeee Song" with her man.  Watch the interview inside....   With her "Body Party" single doing well in the UK and the upcoming Nicki Minaj collab "I'm Out" about to heat up the airwaves, Ciara hopped a flight to the UK to chat with Tim Westwood about the upcoming release of her Ciara disc (July 5).   During their convo, Ciara discussed her bangin' abs, how much she adores her fans (the C-Squad) and she weighed in on her boyfriend Future writing Rihanna's hit record "Loveeeeeee Song."  And for the record...despite Future alluding to Rih & Ci's beef as the cause for his song with Rihanna not getting a video treatment, Ciara said she has no idea why the two of them did not shoot a video for the track.  Here are the highlights: On Body Party..... MAKE IT STACK: Jay-Z Is OFFICALLY A Licensed NBA & MLB Agent! + Diddy's REVOLT TV Nabs Deal With Time Warner Cable Posted: 20 Jun 2013 11:35 AM PDT Rapper and media mogul Jay-Z is now a licensed NBA & MLB agent.  Get the deets on his newest accomplishment inside and find out which cable subscribers will get the first look at Diddy's "Revolt TV".....   Months after announcing the creation of Roc Nation Sports, rapper Jay-Z is now an officially licensed NBA & MLB agent. It was his first hurdle to entering sports agency space. But there's one hitch. Before the rapper can officially represent new clients, he'll have to sell off his 1% stake in the Brooklyn Nets!  And folks like ESPN aren't too sure he's done that just yet. Once that happens, the rumor mill suggests that Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant will be his first client.  Mr. Carter partnered with CAA to sign on his current roster of Robinson Cano and others. On the NFL side of things, ESPN also reports that officials are still determining if Jay violated the industry's "runner rule" when Roc Nation signee Geno Smith tweeted a pic of himself hanging with the mogul.  As of now, Jay is not certified with the NFL and should not be making contacts with the athletes.  Tisk tisk. We sure hope Jay's legal team sorts out the NFL deal pretty soon. The rumor mill is also suggesting that New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is on his way to the Roc if not ALREADY signed, but that could be problematic too since Victor partied and posed for pics with Jay on Monday for the 10th anniversary of his 40/40 sports bar.  Hmm....maybe Jay-Z's team needs to run "interference" and keep him away from potential clients.   We'll keep you posted about Jay's NFL certification.   And in other new business ventures.... Earlier today, Sean 'Diddy' Combs proudly announced that his Revolt TV has partnered with Time Warner Cable. Through the recently inked deal (Diddy posted video of himself going to sign the papers), the new cable music channel with reach TWC's network of 12 million subscribers. Diddy celebrated his new deal during an interview with the NY Post saying, “It is rare in this time to be able to get carriage and to get a company as prestigious as Time Warner to believe in you and to commit to you.”  And on Twitter, he wrote, "It was all a dream I use to read word up Magazine" Now this is happening". So when can music fans get a first look at Diddy's channel? For now, the launch has been pushed back from July to October. Though Diddy and Steve Stoute's Translation, Inc. pitched the fall launch during a presentation in Cannes, sources told the Post that the mogul is still trying to drum up investors and additional funding. SUMMER IN THE CITY: Cutie Blue Ivy Heads Out With Mom Beyonce For A Beauty Day Posted: 20 Jun 2013 10:43 AM PDT Let that cuteness be exposed Blue Ivy!  In a rare occasion where he face wasn't being covered by hands or a blanket, or where she wasn't hiding her own face from the cameras, Blue Ivy Carter had the cutest stare down with the paparazzi yesterday in Manhattan.  Check out the Carter heiress chillin' out with her nanny and her mom Beyonce yesterday... Rocking a bright green dress and gold embellished sandals--like any 1-year-old Hip Hop Royalty baby would rock--B.I.C. headed out in Midtown Manhattan with Mama Bey yesterday afternoon.  The cutie patootie was spotted being carried by her nanny (at least that's who the paps reported the above woman as) at one point as she stared down the cameras. And she was also spotted being carried by her mom, who looked equally as colorful in a printed skirt and a cheetah bag with her own gold sandals: Bey was likely coming from (or headed to) her long time makeup artist Mally Rancol to work on a secret beauty related project involving the makeup guru's beauty product line.  Mally tweeted: Wonder what these two are up to.  We're sure it'll be something gorgeous and fab as always... And if you're wondering what's up with Bey's new album, Ne-Yo says the powers that be are still trying to determine which direction the project should go.  And she's still recording.  He told Billboard this week while promoting his own "It's All Good" jingle for Unilever's Fruttare ice cream bars: "I'm still putting stuff together for Beyonce's album.  They're still trying to figure out what they want that to be, which I'm not mad at. RUMOR CONTROL: Cynthia Bailey -- "I Am NOT Pregnant!" Posted: 20 Jun 2013 09:58 AM PDT Earlier today, an "exclusive" report surfaced on a website claiming that "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Cynthia Bailey was expecting her second child.  But it's all false.  Cynthia speaks inside... No baby here!  46-year-old model & reality star Cynthia Bailey had the internet in awe earlier when a report about her being pregnant with her & husband Peter Thomas' first child together (would be her second) was spread around the internet streets. But Cynthia herself put the rumors to rest just minutes ago.  In a statement she posted on Twitter, the "RHOA" star said she's NOT pregnant, but she's experiencing a medical condition that may make her look that way: "Thanks for all the congrats! However, I am not pregnant. I am dealing with a medical condition that makes me look pregnant. Stay Tuned....." ERRAND GIRL: Brandy Shopping For Her ORGANIC Toiletries At WHOLE FOODS Posted: 20 Jun 2013 09:32 AM PDT   R&B songstress Brandy was spotted running errands and picking up a few toiletries in NYC recently.  Check out the fab chick hitting up WHole Foods inside... "Wildest Dreams" singer Brandy was spotted on the streets of New York yesterday.  The songstress was in town with her fiance Ryan Press.  And she's not too much of a diva to shop it up for her own toiletries. Earlier in the day, the "Drop Dead Diva" guest star was spotted at Whole Food where she popped in to pick up some specialty toothpaste and a toothbrush. And while shopping for her organics, she even posed for pics with one of her littlest fans.  How cute!     BONUS: Ryan and Brandy posted a pic from the Reebok Classics 30th Anniversary Event for their Classic Leather silhouette. The duo partied with Doug E.
