Eve Talks Raising Future Bi-Racial Kids With Her Boyfriend, "I Want Them To Be Colorblind" Posted: 03 May 2013 08:50 AM PDT Eve is on full promo mode as she prepares to drop her new album Liplock.  And she recently dished about how she plans to raise her future kids with her now-boyfriend, British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper.  Check out what she said about  teaching the kiddies about their racial identity and raising them "colorblind".... The fab 34-year-old Eve is in a totally different space than her "Love Is Blind" days.  Instead of going hard with the fellas rocking a fresh baldie, she's a true girly girl now who's giggly like a school girl when talking about her boo, Maximillion.  And she's got babies on the brain. She's still got a little of that pitbull-in-a-skirt in her, but the "She Bad" rapper chatted it up with VIBE VIXEN about all things girly.  We're hearing about her hot and ever changing style (she styles herself!), why she's so open about her romantic relationship and how the twosome will raise their kids. Here are the highlights: On being more open about her relationship and deciding what to share and what to keep to herself: I have to say, it is pretty hard. I think you can get so comfortable with sharing that you don't even realize like "Oooh!" But at the same time, I feel like I've been really good at being private. Like, I think we keep it to a minimum. We might write tweets and say we love each other and things like that, but I don't really put out much personal information about us or what we're exactly doing. It's like "I love you baby. Thank you" or whatever, but never anything too personal. On teaching her children about race + identity: I want them to be colorblind, but I do want them to understand both sides of themselves. I'm a black woman and I love being a black woman. And I think my child should know that black part of themselves. But obviously at the same time, their father would be white and I would want them to know that side of themselves. And British! That's a whole other situation (laughs). But in doing that, I think they can be colorblind. I don't want them to see color. I never did. I grew up in the hood and my mother was very good at it not being a black thing, even though I grew up around all black people. I want them to want to know everything about all kinds of races. And hopefully they will. On who she would form a super group with: I would have to say me and Swizz (Beatz). Definitely. Like me and Swizz could make a full record. But then I would add to that me, Swizz, Missy. I would add Missy. And I would want to add one more. (Long pause) Andre 3000. I'm ready for the tour (laughs)! On her style constantly evolving: You know what? Honestly, to my friend today, this morning, I was like, "Girl, I think I'm about to cut my hair off." Like, I'm feeling it! But I don't want to go back to retro me (laughs). On her favorite part about styling herself: It's fun! It's an accessory. It's like putting on a bracelet or a ring. Even my boyfriend teases me. Like I'm the first black girl he's dated and we've been together three years. And he's like in every vacation picture, I have different hair. Like, who are you? But I can't help it. On being a girly girl: Oh, I'm a girly girl. But that's another thing. I'm schizophrenic because I love my sweatpants, too. That's the first thing I do when I go to a hotel or when I come home. On dealing with rejection: “The only thing that’s going to keep you pushing and keep you depersonalizing rejection is if you totally love what you’re doing.”- Laz Alonso On handling a bad romantic movie scene experience: “My first scene was a romantic scene with this young actress. As the romantic scene came and we went for the kiss, her tongue was so long (Starts to laugh)it was tickling my lungs. HERE WE GO AGAIN: Celtics Baller Jordan Crawford Tells Carmelo Anthony In Game 5 "That MuthaF**ker Fu**ked Your Wife", LaLa GOES IN! Posted: 03 May 2013 06:37 AM PDT Not sure why everybody's getting real reckless with LaLa & Carmelo Anthony these days, but Mrs. Anthony is now fighting back.  As she should.  Check out her response to Celtics baller Jordan Crawford after he shouted at Carmelo some sexual accusations about his wife during game 5 this week... LaLa's finding herself having to defend herself to benchwarmers.  The reality star, pictured above hitting up the GIG-IT event earlier this week in NYC, popped off via Instagram after Celtics baller Jordan Crawford popped some reckless ish to Melo in Game 5 of the playoffs Wednesday. Jordan, who was caught on video yelling this during the game, said to Carmelo, "That muthaf**ker fu*ked your wife!" Obviously, he's referencing the whole Kevin Garnett/Honey Nut Cheerios debacle that had Melo waiting outside Kevin's bus....old school fight style. But this time around, Melo didn't waste his energy trying to fight Jordan (well, he cooled off quickly), and LaLa handled it herself via Instagram.  She posted a pic that said, "STRONG WOMEN intimidate weak men."  Then followed up with, “Try again. You on the bench for a reason.” Bloop. Jordan denies saying it (mind you, there is video evidence of him saying this).  Carmelo told reporters after the game that Jordan, who was a no-name before this, doesn't even deserve their typing time. “I’m not thinking about Jordan Crawford. Not at this point in time. I’ll tell you that . . . I don’t think he deserves for you to be typing [about him].” Ha.  Y'all better leave Melo & 'em alone....

HE'S A TROOPER: Kobe Bryant Hobbles To EIF Women's Cancer Research Gala For Date Night With Wife Vanessa Posted: 02 May 2013 11:26 PM PDT   That Achilles injury and a horrible end to the Lakers' season isn't stopping Kobe Bryant from partying it up.  The Laker champ and his gorge wife Vanessa made their way to the EIF charity gala in Beverly Hills Thursday night.  And we've got the pics of the cute twosome hobbling along inside.... After celebrating their baby girl Gianna's 7th birthday on Tuesday, May 1st (baby Bryant & I are birthday twins!), parents Kobe & Vanessa Bryant  had a glammed up date night all in the name of charity. Kobe, in a full foot cast and hopping on crutches, brought his wife, decked out in Saint Laurent, to the EIF Women's Cancer Research Fund's 16th Annual "An Unforgettable Evening" presented by Saks Fifth Avenue at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel last night.  And the couple was all smiles despite all the year's setbacks. Loving Vanessa's look.  Kobe's been giving constant Twitter updates about his recovery, telling fans a few days ago he just got his stitches out, so he's making progress. Meanwhile, Kobe's mom, Pamela Bryant, is doing a bit of spring cleaning and selling off her son's memorable jerseys from high school and some other now-vintage gear from his career in the NBA. Through Goldin Auctions in June, Pam is giving to the highest bidders "The Bryant Collection": His Lower Merion high school jerseys, his jerseys from his time playing ball overseas while he was just a kid, a few rings from All-Star games, and even a surfboard he won at a Kids' Choice Awards. Moms are good for clearing out your old ish to make room for their own new ish.  Gotta love it. *UPDATE* Apparently, Kobe didn't give permission for his ish to be sold.  Like we said, moms are good for clearing out your old ish.  However, this time, Pamela is selling the items in order to get cash to purchase a home.  We all know Kobe and his parents have been estranged and have had a rocky relationship ever since he married Vanessa Bryant.  So it seems Kobe hasn't been helping moms out in the money department. Now, Kobe is suing to stop the sell of the items.  Damn homie.

He will be awarding cash to single mothers, children who attend alternative schools, students who have earned a GED, students with grade point averages of 2.0 and students who have previously been incarcerated, etc., but desire a higher educational opportunity.     Rick Ross some type of way gt back into Reebok's good graces.  Because he and Swizz Beatz just had a meeting with the CEO of the sportswear company.  No clue what was on the agenda, but are they negotiating a deal to bring Ricky back as a spokesman after dropping him due to his rape lyrics and failure to understand rape culture? DO WE LOVE IT: Zoe Saldana Caught Up In VIONNET For London's "Star Trek: Into Darkness" Premiere Posted: 02 May 2013 03:56 PM PDT Zoe Saldana is back on the Star Trek: Into Darkness premiere trail.  And this time, she rocked a dramatic look from the Vionnet Pre-Fall 2013 collection.  Decide if we love it inside... A dramatic dress can lead to a bit of drama on the red carpet.  Star Trek star Zoe Saldana had to get the help of her castmates after getting caught up in the panels of fluffy, satiny & silky that was her gown. The white bottom was layered with fabric and split into origami style panels while the top of the sleeveless dress was embellished with simple pieces of fabric and an open back.   Zoe paired her look with black Louboutin ankle strap Rampoldi pumps and swept up her hair into an old Hollywood look:     The dramatics were definitely in effect.  But... DO WE LOVE IT?!   P.S. It's just been reported that Zoe is now confirmed for the new comic adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy hitting theaters August 1st, 2014.  Nice!

ON THE SCENE: "R&B Divas" Host Dueling Premiere Parties, Latavia Roberson & Tamika Scott Flaunt Their BABY BUMPS! Posted: 02 May 2013 02:42 PM PDT Dueling "R&B Divas" premiere parties went down last night in Atlanta.  It was Team Newbies vs. Team Vets.  So it's already apparent how this season turned out.   We've got the inside scoop on what went down, plus pics of the fab folks who popped up, including a few baby bumps.... TheYBF.com was on the scene at both "R&B Divas" parties in Atlanta last night to celebrate the show's premiere. First up were the newbies (plus 1 vet, Syleena Johnson) at Harlem Nights.  The turnout was low since many people were at rival Nicci Gilbert's party at the Museum Bar.  But as more people began to file in, the premiere episode kicked off. Latavia Roberson, who showed off her growing baby bump, made her way to Harlem Nights and posed it up with the show's star Syleena Johnson and 702's Meelah Johnson who's looking cute these days. Newbie chicks LaTocha Scott & Angie Stone looked great as they popped up to celebrate their premiere episode.  Is it just us or does Angie just seem like she's already over this ish? And speaking of Syleena, during the first episode, no time is wasted getting to the drama and the diva antics between her and Nicci Gilbert.  Hence, the separate parties. Last season, Nicci did not introduce Syleena for her performance and Syleena is still upset about it. So now that all the ladies are trying to go on tour together, they can barely get together for a meeting because of all the egos and shade being thrown.  And Syleena even kicked Nicci out of her house.   Both Latavia and Meelah kept it cute. TheYBF.com spoke to Angie Stone briefly and she said we must stay tuned to see all the drama that unfolds.  But she seemed extra coy when we asked if we would finally get to see the cast getting along.  We're going with....no. LaTocha Scott's sister, and former Xcsape member, Tamika Scott is pregnant.  And she showed off that baby bump looking like she was about to pop. Producer Phil Thornton came out to support the ladies too.  Syleena's looking great these days.   Cute dress.   Over at the Museum Bar for Nicci Gilbert's party: Nicci looked nice and so did KeKe Wyatt. "Love & Hip Hop ATL" co-star Ariane hit up the event to support her fellow reality stars. And so did Erica Dixon. Really wish Erica would realize how smart and gorge she really is...and wouldn't continue to deal with the pettiness.  She snapped some pics with singer Dondria. "LAHH ATL" newbies Traci Steele & her baby's daddy DJ Baby Drew were there.    Michael Jai White came out the woodwork. Tony Terry came out from the woodwork BEHIND the woodwork and kicked it with Peter Bailey.  Where's HE been? There was a time when we'd hear about controversial rapper Azealia Banks beefing with someone at least once a month.  From Iggy Azelea and T.I., to Angel Haze and A$AP Rocky, Young Rapunxel was never at a loss for words...until now.   Though the "Liquorice" rapper dazzled on the blue carpet for the Ferragamo "Launch Of L'Icona" this week (shown above), fans will notice that there have been very few tweets from the rapper. We've now discovered that she's taken a page from Chris Brown's public relations playbook and turned over her Twitter account to her record label. And in addition to the silence, her debut abum, Broke With Expensive Taste, has been pushed back again. The fiesty rapper has been in the studio with Frank Ocean's producer Om’Mas Keith. “I was very pleased to find out that she was an amazing artist, an artist’s artist,” Keith told Rap-Up TV. “The stuff that I worked on is very refreshing and creative.” Maybe now...she'll have time to focus on creating a hit album and not stirring up trouble.   And in other music news.... If you plan on booking Beyonce & her Mrs. Carter Show, get ready for a list of demands fit for a queen.  Thanks to Australia's newspaper, The Telegraph, we've been clued in on a few of Queen Bey's demands, which some critics are calling "insane."  But if you've ever seen Mrs. Carter live, we think she deserves WHATEVER she wants.  So far, we've learned she's demanding the most.  And we kinda love it. $900 worth of titanium drinking straws for her dressing rooms (used to drink a special alkaline water that's served at exactly 21 degrees!) Everyone in the crew must be dressed in clothes made of 100% pure cotton (to prevent her from having an allergic reaction) The dressing room must be painted off-white Every toilet seat (in each venue) must be brand new Bathrooms are stocked only with red toilet paper A hand-carved ice-ball (to cool her throat after performances) Glass platters of almonds, oatcakes and green-only crudités (no junk food allowed) And for her 2013 performance at the Super Bowl, she supposedly demanded Blue Ivy's $22,000 cedar crib be shipped from New York to New Orleans, and her personal dressing room be stocked with $6,000 worth of imported cigars and alcohol for Jay-Z. The source defended Bey's demands saying, "She's extremely regimented and is taking everything extremely seriously, so she expects her list of demands to be adhered too and every detail be taken in.  Working so hard and with the toll the travel takes on her body in addition to the intense shows, she feels that her requests aren't too much to ask for as she wants to ensure everything goes to plan." AGAIN....whatever Beyonce wants....Beyonce should get.  And everyone will deal....

Tyler Perry & Oprah Combine Super Rich Forces For ESSENCE's June 2013 Cover Posted: 02 May 2013 11:16 AM PDT As if Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey weren't rich enough solo...the two friends have joined forces to take over media....and every bank in reach.  Check out their brand new ESSENCE June 2103 cover inside... Tyler Perry recently struck a deal with his old pal Lady O to give her and her OWN network the exclusive rights to every original TV show written, directed & produced by TP himself.  So how did these two make a friends-with-money relationship work to the fullest?  By stating up front they wouldn't let business interfere with their friendship.  A different type of black love that will have more long lasting power in our culture and beyond than many may realize.  Loves it. A few highlights from the issue: Oprah on the rare occasion of two powerful people coming together: "We both know how rare this is," says Oprah. "Where else in the history of our African-American culture have two really, really successful people who can do whatever they want said, 'Let’s come together and be even more powerful—let’s take it to the tenth power?'" Jermaine Dupri Speaks On Losing Chris Kelly & Says He Was "Like A Son", Preliminary Reports Point To Heroine & Cocaine Involvement Posted: 02 May 2013 10:07 AM PDT Chris Kelly's (on left) untimely death has left friends and family at a loss.  Now find out what Jermaine Dupri, the head of SoSo Def Records who gave Kriss Kross their start, has to say about losing the rapper who was "like a son" to him.  Plus, new details have emerged about the possible cause of death... In a heartfelt yet sad open letter about how badly the death of Chris "MacDaddy" Kelly has affected him, Jermaine Dupri just spilled his heart to the world.  J.D. discovered Chris & Chris "DaddyMac" almost two decades ago and they went on to make SoSoDef one of the hottest labels of the 90's.  And Mr. Dupri revealed he actually spent more time with the Chrises than anyone else in his life. He said Chris Kelly was like a son to him and he was always turnt up.  Check out the letter below:   Reports have also emerged about the possible cause of Chris Kelly's death.  The 34-year-old was found "unresponsive" by his mother, Donna, on his living room couch yesterday. He did a radio interview the night before and indeed sounded like something could be a bit off.  And TMZ reports that his mother told police he had also taken heroine and cocaine the night before. After the death, cops spoke with Donna Kelly Pratt -- Chris' mother -- who told police ... the night before Kelly's medical emergency, he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine -- commonly known as "speedballs." Donna told police she had personally taken Kelly home to recover from the drug use ... just as she had done several times before. Donna told cops Kelly had felt nauseous all morning before passing out. According to the report, Kelly's mother and Kelly's uncle both told investigators the rapper had an "extensive history of drug use." Audio from Chris' interview with Streetz Morning Grind radio show in ATL the day before is above.  He seems to have spoken to the hosts via phone because he missed going into the station for the actual interview.

Mommy-to-be Tamar Braxton was spotted out in Beverly Hills yesterday rocking white shorts, black sneakers and a lacy black top.  But after being joined by her husband, Vincent Herbert, Tamar ducked into one of the fancy shops and emerged wearing a new outfit. The fierce fashionista, who was joined by her big sis Toni, decided to switch it up midway through her shopping trip and completely swapped out the monochome outfit,  walking out of the store wearing black shorts, white Isabel Marant sneakers, a white t-shirt, and a black top.  And yes, we thought they were biker shorts too.  But they're not and we're all about a fan preggers chick keeping it comfortable.  So we're giving this entire look a pass. Tamar has been making the top of many people's best-dressed list since she announced she was pregnant and we see why.  She takes her maternity looks very seriously!   And on television last night... Warring "American Idol" judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey went through a cringe-worthy argument last night as they bickered about a performance of 'Someone To Watch Over Me' by "AI" finalist Angie Miller. Shade came from both sides of the table as Mariah stated that she disagreed with 'certain' judges (referring to a comment that Nicki had made earlier) and Nicki responded by waving a cotton swab towards Mariah saying "Clean your ears out." As the audience gasped, Mariah shut Nicki down but looking at Angie and saying, 'Darling, let me express this to her as a singer. Just sing from your heart every time and your notes will continue to shine regardless of the "dirt" that gets splattered around you.' WOMP. UPDATE: Nicki Minaj continued the war of words on Twitter today.  of course, Mariah has paid her no mind.  And for Nicki to think Mariah is so "unworthy"....she sure is giving a whole lot of credence to one sentence of shade MiMi threw.  Nicki said today: "Why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter." "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that." Sigh.  Just because someone...with proven credibility on the matter...doesn't like you or you "talent", it does not make them insecure and bitter.  It's called having an opinion.  And we all know a diva with an opinion can piss somebody off easily.  Nicki's real mad though...and MiMi twirls on...
