Was John Travolta banned from a NYC hotel spa for inappropriate behavior? Posted: 13 May 2012 05:49 AM PDT On Friday, we discussed the latest news in the John Travolta scandal, which I'm now just going to call Masseur-gate. (Sidenote: the name "Masseur-gate" makes John Travolta think of entryways and backdoors.) Last we heard, a third man, a Chilean named Fabian Zanzi, had come forward to claim that Travolta had propositioned him for a massage and for sex on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. Travolta allegedly offered Zanai $12,000 for the services, which Zanzi refused. On Friday, we also discussed how Travolta's first accuser, John Doe #1, had changed his story – Doe #1 now says that he got the dates wrong, and that Travolta groped and assaulted him on an earlier date. I said at the time that Doe #1's credibility took a big hit with the story change, and it looks like Doe #1's lawyer feels the same way – the lawyer just dropped the first masseur.
[From Radar] That's pretty rough. But… I still think it's odd that Travolta's lawyer has yet to go after the second masseur's story, which, in my mind, seemed WAY more plausible and easily verifiable. As Masseur-gate picks up steam, the common thread is always massages, groping, sweat and desperation. It feels like a pattern. It feels like Travolta has pulled this act so many times. Guess what? The New York Daily News has an interesting piece about just that – their sources claim that Travolta was so skeevy and gross to the masseurs at the Peninsula Hotel Spa, the spa had to "ban" him. You can read the whole piece here, and here are some highlights from the report:
[From The New York Daily News] OMG. Do you have the image now? Do you believe this "disgruntled ex-employee"? Or do you believe Travolta's lawyer, who doesn't explicitly deny that Travolta ever grinded against the table and lifted his butt in the air – the denial is only about the ban and a vague "John never acted improperly." Define "improperly." Do it. Meanwhile, some of you have been wondering about Kelly Preston and what she's been doing while Travolta's dirty, sweaty laundry is being aired in public. Well, she had a "new" interview on The Conversation with Amanda De Cadenet which aired last week – but it was recorded before Masseur-gate. There are reports that Team Travolta is "purposefully" keeping Kelly "under wraps". A source tells Fox News, "It’s a means of damage control and will protect her from any public scrutiny." Basically, Kelly is being told to STFU and just wait until John is ready to do a happy heterosexual family photo op. |
Halle Berry even more determined to move to France following paparazzi incident Posted: 13 May 2012 05:48 AM PDT These are some new photos of Halle Berry at Revoln's Run-Walk yesterday in LA. I'm really not crazy about her hair – does anyone think she looks a bit Janet Jackson-ish? And by that I mean tweaked. Anyway, last week, CB discussed an unfortunate incident in which Halle Berry went OFF on some paparazzi who were set up outside of Nahla Aubry's school. As CB said, while Halle seems like a piece of work, the paparazzi's actions were ridiculous and likely illegal too. It doesn't matter if Halle calls the paps to photograph "happy family candid portraits" with Nahla and Olivier Martinez – the paps still shouldn't be at Nahla's school. Halle had every right to be angry and to yell about it, and she probably should have pressed charges too. Unfortunately for Nahla's father, Halle is also going to use the incident to push harder to move to France with Nahla and Olivier. Oh, Halle. Stop.
[From Radar] Regarding the "Nahla is terrified of the paparazzi" issue… am I alone in thinking it's way more complicated than that? I see paparazzi photos of Nahla with Gabriel and with Halle. Judging solely from those photos, Nahla simply seems more relaxed and less anxious when she's with her father. When I see Nahla and her dad, it feels like Nahla is feeding off Gabriel's calm, loving energy, and she seems like a normal kid. But when Nahla is photographed with Halle, there's a wider variation in moods, and I'm assuming that part of Radar's sources' arguments is true – the paparazzi are more aggressive with Halle, they'll get closer to her, they'll say things to her, and Nahla reacts to that. I also think Nahla is reacting to her mother's mood swings too, because kids are smart and if a parent freaks out, the child will freak out too. There are also (mostly telephoto lens) shots where Nahla and Halle and Olivier are all looking happy and everything is beachy-fun-family, and Halle – I believe – sets up some of those photo shoots to "prove" that Nahla has a new daddy – Olivier. So… while I think Halle has a valid argument against the paparazzi, she also feeds the chaos and she feeds Nahla's bad reactions to the chaos too. Mostly I just think Halle kind of sucks for using this unfortunate incident as an argument FOR moving her daughter far away from her father. |
Anne Hathaway shows off her trim figure, short hair in Miami: super-cute? Posted: 13 May 2012 05:47 AM PDT These are some new photos of Anne Hathaway in Miami over the weekend. She seems to be hanging out with friends, and while I don't see her fiance in any of the pics, I'm sure he's around. The photo agency is trying to make a big deal about Anne not wearing her $150,000 engagement ring (price according to Fame/Flynet) while in the ocean, but I feel like that's a non-story. Some women never take off their engagement ring for anything, some women will take off their rings and jewelry for beaches, showers, etc. Everybody's different. Anne was in Miami to help celebrate Valentino's 80th birthday, which… Valentino holds his birthday party in Miami? That seems rather gauche for him. But Annie's one of his girls, so it's nice that she showed up. I don't know if she's finished filming Les Miserables or if she just had a weekend off. That's why she's got this haircut, remember – she's playing Fantine, and Anne has gone through a "dramatic" makeover to look authentic for the role. The makeover involves this miserable haircut… I can already feel some of you preparing your pro-short-hair diatribes, so let me just say this: there are many women who can rock a short haircut. I am not one of them. Neither is Anne. While in Miami, Annie was also showing off her trimmer Fantine-figure in a black bikini. We don't have access to the full-body shots, but you can see some at Dlisted. She looks very trim, but… I don't know, to me, she doesn't look emaciated. I wonder if the reports of her "extreme dieting and weight loss" have been exaggerated. (Her boobs do look smaller though!) I'm also including some shots of Anne walking around Miami in a long-sleeved black dress which… I hate myself, but I really, really want this dress. I think it's super-cute. |
Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky welcome baby girl India Hemsworth Posted: 13 May 2012 05:45 AM PDT People always assume that because I'm half-Indian, I have strong feelings about the name "India" for an actual person. I don't have some major opinion on it really. Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky welcomed their first child on Friday – a baby girl they named India. I don't know if she's got a middle name, but I kind of like the simplicity of "India Hemsworth". It's cute. Lord Mountbatten ("The Last Viceroy" of India) named his daughter India as well – that's what I always associate it with. I guess I've just grown to the point where I don't mind if people name their babies country-names. Name your child China, or India, or America. Name him England. Name her Ireland. Name him Egypt. Name her or him Kenya. All of those names are totally not as bad as some of the other names I've heard.
[From People Magazine] I never realized the age difference between Chris and Elsa – I thought he was older than 28 and I thought she was younger than 35. Oh well – I'm sure it will work. Those Aussie boys seems to mate for life. Is it interesting that Chris and Elsa welcomed their baby just a few months after Chris's fellow Avenger Robert Downey Jr. welcomed his son? Maybe little Exton Elias and India Hemsworth will end up together one day. They'll be a crime-fighting duo. Or, you know, actors. |
Stacy Keibler was a “cheerleader” during Obama & Clooney’s b-ball game Posted: 13 May 2012 05:30 AM PDT Stacy Keibler was at yesterday's Revlon Walk-Run event in LA. Other celebrities included in the event: Halle Berry, Mario Lopez, Matthew Morrison and Matt Bomer. Stacy not only participated in the event – she was invited onto the dais and she ended up standing right beside (and embracing) Halle Berry, the hostess of the event. Does Stacy's inclusion mean that she's "arrived"? Ugh. I don't want to answer that question, because I would be forced to admit that Stacy seems to be becoming more and more of a "B-list celebrity" in her own right. Like, when George dumps her, I'm starting to get the feeling that Stacy won't be completely Sarah Larson'd – Stacy won't crawl into some dark cave, never to be heard from again. I feel like she's aiming for a post-Clooney C-list celebrity status in which she manages to find constant "work" on budget red carpets, as a model for cheap products, and the occasional reality show gig. Anyway, you know how Stacy was George's "date" at the big LA fundraiser for Pres. Obama last Thursday? It must be so because Stacy's publicist managed to get an item into Us Weekly about how Stacy and George were kissing in front of POTUS and junk. Well, Stacy is now authorized to speak about what happened at after the event. Basically, George let his girl off the leash long enough for her to name-drop not only HIS name but the president's.
[From Us Weekly] Yes, Stacy described herself as a cheerleader. She actually was a cheerleader years ago, before she was a lady wrestler and professional girlfriend. Now, I don't mind that Clooney and Pres. Obama are bros and they played a game of basketball at Clooney's mansion. That is… acceptable. What I can't accept is that Stacy was there too, "cheerleading," and that she was authorized to speak about it. That's embarrassing… for Clooney AND for Obama. And yes, that's her cameltoe. There's also an unfortunate seam. *shakes head, gives up* |
