Chernobyl Diaries Horribly Offends Chernobyl Charity Posted: 21 May 2012 01:10 PM PDT We thought Chernobyl Diaries looked pret-ty scary from what we saw in the trailer, but Friends of Chernobyl Centers U.S. is more horrified the Hollywood is sensationalizing the aftermath of an incident that took thousands of lives! The organization feels that the Jesse McCartney horror flick from the producers of Paranormal Activity is disrespectful to those affected by the 1986 nuclear power plant explosion. A rep from Friends of Chernobyl said:
We can certainly understand their outrage, but doubt the producers of the movie intended to offend anybody. What do U think? Was it too soon to make a movie based on the aftermath of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster? |
The Avengers Action Figures Are Insanely Realistic! Posted: 21 May 2012 12:50 PM PDT Yes! Those are action figures, not the actual cast of The Avengers! A company called Hot Toys has produced the most realistic toys ever with their most recent line of figurines from the Marvel movie. We're sure any fan would be thrilled to have one of these bad boys for their collection, but they won't be thrilled by the price. The Thor figurine, for example, costs $200! His brother Loki, a model which hasn't been released yet, will cost about $10 more too! Considering the film has already made a billion dollars at the box office, we have a feeling people won't mind dropping a couple Benjamins on these collectibles. Those who can't afford to make the purchase are in luck though! The company is holding a contest in which a winner will receive an Avengers prize pack! Click here for details and check out more pics of the very incredibly detailed figurines (below)! |

Cannes Theater Collapses Under Weight Of Massive Egos Rainwater Posted: 21 May 2012 12:20 PM PDT That's one way to make art films more exciting! A torrential downpour caused the roof of the Soixantième Theatre to collapse Sunday night at the Cannes International Film Festival, but thankfully there were no injuries!! The, errm, architectural difficulties of the special screening house forced several festival premieres to be rescheduled. The weather at Cannes has been awful recently. The runway is literally soaked with Amour stars Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger were amongst those inconvenienced. Where were Diane's Jean Paul Gaultier galoshes when she needed them?! LOLz! Assuming the bad conditions continue, festival officials plan to relocate many of the remaining functions indoors. And they said the French Riviera is NICE this time of year!! [Image via WENN.] |

Rihanna Surprises Fans In London During Jay-Z And Kanye West's Watch The Throne Tour Posted: 21 May 2012 11:40 AM PDT Sounds like Jay-Z and Kanye West's Sunday night concert in London was one of the best the Watch The Throne Tour will have to offer! Rihanna made a surprise appearance to join the two rap icons on stage during a performance of All Of The Lights (above). Referring to the concert as an historical night, RiRi tweeted after the show:
We're sure your fans want to thank you too, gurl! Your participation definitely helped make the night an unforgettable experience for anyone lucky enough to attend. |
Ouch! Facebook Stock Takes A Dive! Posted: 21 May 2012 11:20 AM PDT Did U invest in Facebook when it hit the stock market on Friday? If so, you're probably more than a little disappointed that the stock value immediately plunged by over 11%! Stock in the social network debuted at $38-per-share, but is now at $33.64 (and fluctuating as we speak). What a bummer! This probably isn't the best news for Mark Zuckerberg to wake up to on the Monday after his surprise wedding over the weekend. Hopefully he doesn't let business bring his mood down from one of the most joyous occasions of his life. [Image via WENN.] |
Actor Timothy Busfield Accused Of Sexual Battery! Posted: 21 May 2012 11:10 AM PDT John Travolta isn't the only alleged pervert in Hollywood these days. Timothy Busfield has been accused of sexually battering a woman while on a movie date last week! The West Wing actor reportedly took a lady friend to the ArcLight theater in Sherman Oaks last Wednesday. The date was going well and the two began kissing like high schoolers during the flick, but the evening was ruined when Busfield decided to grope a breast and her crotch area. Sources report that the woman immediately ended the date and informed authorities of the incident on Thursday. Busfield hasn't been arrested or anything, but investigators are likely to speak with him. We bet this guy wishes he would have just stuck with first base instead of trying to steal second. Tyler Clementi's Roommate Sentenced To 30-Days In Prison And 3 Years Probation Posted: 21 May 2012 10:50 AM PDT Ugh! That's it? Dharun Ravi filmed his gay roommate being intimate with another man and posted the video on the internet. After finding out the private moment had been broadcast, Tyler Clementi tragically jumped to his death in 2010. The 20-year-old Rutger's University student was found guilty of invasion of privacy and bias intimidation in February, but was finally sentenced for his crimes today. Although we feel he should have gotten more time, at least Dharun will have 30 days in prison to think about what he's done and then three years of probation to remind him of his awful actions. We're not the only ones who are a little disappointed by the slap on the wrist. Tyler's father asserted that his son's former roommate "still does not get it" and was hoping he'd receive a more serious punishment. Considering Dharun accepts no responsibility for his former roommate's decision to commit suicide, we don't think he understands the gravity of his actions either. Hopefully this case at least serves as a warning to other college students out there who might have been foolish and ignorant enough to make the same mistake otherwise. Do U think the punishment was severe enough for the crime that was committed? [Image via AP Images.] |
