Actress Gabrielle Union spent some fitness time yesterday with Mara Brock Akil, the producer/director of the upcoming BET show "Single Black Female" she's shooting the pilot for soon.

Two of our fave ladies! 41-year-old Mara Brock Akil, who writes/produces tv shows like "Girlfriends," "The Game" and the upcoming Sparkle movie, took some time away from her computer to get in a workout with her actress friend, 39-year-old Gabby Union, in Studio City, CA yesterday. The in-shape twosome laughed it up in the parking lot after getting in a hike. Gabby tweeted today: "Yesterday did a 2hr hike, today is a park workout...u don't need a fancy expensive gym to keep it tight...let's GO folks!"
A makeup free Gabby rocked her UnderArmour workout gear and still kept it cute.
Gabby's Good Deeds movie came in #2 at the box office during it's opening week last month. And her next film Think Like A Man premieres April 20th. Ms. Union also spent the weekend in Austin at SWSX to premiere her new independent film In Our Nature, where she plays the new girlfriend of a single father as they go on a complicated journey in their interracial relationship. The synopsis: A portrait of two couples at a crossroads. An estranged father and son, both on the verge of starting new families, accidentally end up in the same country house with their girlfriends. As the weekend devolves into an awkward reckoning, both couples find themselves questioning their future.

R&B chicks Brandy and Monica stopped by “106 & Park” yesterday to dish on their second collabo “It All Belongs to Me,” a potential tour, and the late Whitney Houston. See the interview inside..... Brandy and Monica chatted about their musical reunion after 14 years on "106 & Park" yesterday. Monica explained what brought them back together, “We realized that we did more together than separately,” said Monica. “We never won Grammys apart, we did it together. We never got a chance to reach the masses of people apart. It happened together.” She added, “I’m so sick of people divided and this lack of unity in music—I don’t care if you’re rappers or whatever—uniting for this music and the cause allows these kids to see that there’s strength in numbers.” And Monica also talked about the legacy of Whitney saying, “Devastating is almost an understatement. Even before her death, every night on stage I did tributes to her because I would always remind her that you are the greatest, no matter what place your life is in. I think it’s time that people ease up on these entertainers and recognize we’re human beings outside of what we do.” Brandy chimed in, “I just can’t believe she’s gone. I don’t understand. Nicki Minaj put on her best cotton candy-like pink wig for the April 2012 cover of ALLURE. The 29-year-old rap chick donned colorful looks for the spread, and had some words for rap king Jay-Z. Check out her cover and a few pics and highlights inside... "Superbass" rapper Nicki Minaj is decked out in her frills, ruffles and tulle for the new ALLURE issue. The cover has been floating arond for weeks in a blurry low-res format, but now the higher quality pic has been released. The MAC Viva Glam rep revealed her usual amount of boobage and her fave pink lipstick while yacking it up about keeping off the pounds and going for Jay-Z's spot: On dethroning Jay-Z: “I never thought about music as just being the end-all, be-all. I always looked at it like a business, something that I could create an empire out of…. I had a little conversation with Jay-Z at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. He said, ‘Congratulations on all your success.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m coming for you. I’m coming for your spot, Mr. Mogul.’” On exercising: “I’m naturally petite, but I definitely struggle with keeping those extra pounds off. And I hate working out. I can’t stand being on a treadmill. That mentally irks me. When I need to lose a few, I just cut out sugar and starch.”

| More Details About The NEW "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" Cast Posted: 13 Mar 2012 05:44 AM PDT
The new "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" spinoff cast may not be exactly what we thought. Or actually, maybe it will. More details about new cast members have been revealed. Check 'em inside... Reports have dropped a few names from the "LAHH ATL" spinoff pool. It won't be Shawty Lo's felon baby mama as originally thought. We also heard Toya Wright (formerly Carter) may be involved in the show in some way. But unofficial reports have confirmed rappers Diamond and Rasheeda will indeed be the anchors of the cast. *UPDATE* Diamond tweeted recently that she is not a part of the cast. But we all know how things can change so take it all with a grain of salt. For now.
Diamond is still trying to get her career together even after being in the game for a while, so it seems she will be the Olivia of the group. Word has it her ex-boyfriend rapper Lil Scrappy will also appear on the show. And seeing that their current relationship is anything but cordial, this ought to be interesting.
Straight From the A also reports Scrappy's mama, Mama D, will also be in the mix. And Diamond reportedly is feeling a way about it. Mama D apparently can't stand Diamond after her and Scrappy's breakup since some dirt was done. She called Diamond a "low down dirty b*tch" on an ATL radio station interview last year and went IN on homegirl. Sounds like a Jim Jones/Nancy Jones type portrayal. Rapper Rasheeda, who had that "Bedrock Remix" video with Toya Carter, Diamond and others, is supposedly the narrator of the show. And her husband/manager, Kirk Frost, will be her main co-star. They'll be showing the trials and tribulations of getting Rasheeda's career up and running.
And also, producer Stevie J. has reportedly been added to the mix. Stevie was previously romantically linked to rapper Eve and Whoopi Goldberg's daughter Alexandria Martin. He will be appearing on the show with is girlfriend MiMi and showing how he pushes his musical career with the rappers in the business. He's also bringing his new Latina artist he's developing--who is supposedly already causing drama. Must be an Erica Mena type....

Earlier today (at 10am ET), CNN lifted Roland's suspension. I'll bet we won't see anything else about soccer on his Twitter feed. Now he knows....Tweets is watching!

Beyonce looked gorgeous in her Tom Ford shades, and Mama Tina is looking a lot younger these days.
And in LA....
Actress Angelina Jolie was seen arriving at LAX Airport with her daughters Shiloh and Zahara to catch a flight out of town today.
The girls looked like they were having fun with Mommy.
Between Zahara's blue braids and Shiloh's fashion sense, it's cool to see that Angelina gives her children creative freedom.

Oprah Winfrey's OWN had its best night ever on Sunday, nabbing a record 3.5 million viewers for her interview with Bobbi Kristina and Gary and Patricia Houston. THR reports that the audience grew with every half hour of the 1.5 hour long broadcast and Oprah will finish among the evening's top 5 broadcasts. In other good news, OWN posted substantial year over year growth in the month of February, growing 12 percent in primetime and 29 percent for the total day. |
| The Dream RETURNS To The Stage, Calls Out R&B Dudes For STEALING His Sound Posted: 12 Mar 2012 12:51 PM PDT  The Dream, who's performing on the "Kill The Lights" Tour, hit the stage recently to a packed audience that included Jay-Z and Beyonce. He performed a medley of hits and called out a few R&B dudes for stealing his swagger. See clips from the show inside.... After a two-year absence from live performing, The Dream hit the stage recently and had a few choice words for R&B dudes stealing his swagger. He told the audience, “I haven’t done a show in close to two years. And ever since then, there’s like, four niggas that sound like me now. I’m just being honest.” He added that he had a hard time getting his own records played in 2007 because of his sound...but now everybody had copied it. He kept mum on who he was talking about.
And in the audience....
Jay-Z and Beyonce got a babysitter for Blue Ivy so they could catch the show!

Find out what he said about Jay and Beyonce giving Blue Ivy anything she wants inside..... Mathew Knowles made an appearance on British talk show "Lorraine" this morning where he promoted his new girl group From Above and gushed about his new granddaughter saying, “You just want to love and kiss her but the great thing with grandkids is that you can give them back.” And it seems as though he and Bey are back on speaking terms as he told Lorraine, "I was with Blue Ivy two days ago, I had her in my arms and was singing a song I used to sing to Beyonce and then after I finished singing the song she kind of went, 'Ahhhh.'" He added that with all of their riches, Jay-Z and Beyonce will stop at nothing to make sure Blue Ivy has options and can choose any career she wants. “If Blue Ivy wants to be a doctor when she grows up then they would figure how to buy a hospital. “If she wants to be a basketball player I already own a WNBA team so she can play there and if she wants to be a singer then she would be very happy.” Later, Mathew spoke at Heart FM’s Have A Heart event where he denied that Bey demanded £31million to be a judge on this year’s X Factor USA. “It would never happen as Beyoncé would never do that. “There are a few things that she would never do and that is one. “It’s not for her.” However, he had nothing but praise for Kelly Rowland on the UK version saying, “Kelly Rowland is doing a great job and I’m glad to see that Simon Cowell is having her back.” Watch Mathew talk about singing to Blue Ivy here: |

Reality tv stars Nene Leakes and Jennifer Williams were spotted shopping in NYC with Nene's business partner John Kolaj yesterday. See the pics inside and see video of NeNe saying she's single but is down with the swirl!
"RHOA" star Nene Leakes was spotted shopping in the Meatpacking District yesterday. And the tv personality was joined by John Kolaj, whom she partnered with on a Famous Famiglia Pizza chain store, and Jennifer Williams of 'Basketball Wives.' Nene's been seeing a sugar daddy for a while now, and many believe it's this guy John. But chick hasn't signed her divorce papers yet so she's remaining mum about who the mystery guy is who's buying her the expensive presents she posts on Twitter all the time...
Interesting look for Jennifer.
She looked cute in her chic grey slacks and stilettos.
While in NYC, NeNe stopped by Andy Cohen's "Watch What happens Live" and revealed that she is single and down with the swirl. But John faces stiff competition as NeNe also revealed that she and Greg still get it in! Watch NeNe talk about dating here:

Estelle was seen leaving Aura nightclub at 3am on St James Street in London this morning.
She recently chatted with S2S where she revealed what she doesn't like about the music business saying, "What I didn’t like was the general perception that well, you shouldn’t be different. Why are you trying to be different? It was like, ‘I’m not.’ It disturbed me. It wasn’t like saying I was being quirky or anything, it was more like, ‘How dare you be cultured and assured, ‘cause none of us are.’ And, ‘How dare you know who you are?’ That kind of energy. And I was like, ‘Oh, well, I don’t know how to answer that. All I know how to do is be me.’
