Drake Reveals In GQ Why "Just Getting P***Y" No Longer Works For Him + LaLa Anthony & Fam FEATURED In VOGUE

Posted: 14 Mar 2012 10:09 AM PDT

We told you earlier about Drake's cover shot for "GQ" and now we have more pics and deets from his interview where he dishes on the rap game and promiscuity. Read it inside and see LaLa Anthony in VOGUE.

Drake (along with actors Dave Franco & James Lassiter on 2 other covers) covers the latest issue of GQ magazine's first ever STYLE BIBLE.  And he's revealing a number of interesting things from music to sex. Drake helps show what rules to break when it comes to unleashing the power of your own power suit. And also shares his feelings on women, today’s generation of rappers, and influences for his music.  Here are the highlights:

On the new generation of rappers...
“Rap now is just being young an fly and having your shit together. The mood of rap has changed.”

On finding influences for his songwriting...
“I’m trying to find the same feelings that I had for women when I had very little going on, which is tough. When I was in my mom’s house, I had nowhere to go, no real obligations. My girlfriend at the time, if she was mad at me, my day was all fucked-up. I didn’t have anything else. And that made for some of the best music, I think, to date. Records where I felt small. ...It’s really difficult for me to find something that makes me feel small.”

On past promiscuity...
“There’s just a time where it was like, just getting pussy. Where I was in that sort of ‘I’m young, I’m going to disconnect from my emotions and just do what everyone else tells me I should do and just a be a rapper and have my fun.’ And for me as a person, it just doesn’t work. The seconds after a man reaches climax, that’s the realest moment of your life. If I don’t want you next to me in that fifteen, twenty seconds, then there’s something wrong.”

On his bad boy persona...
“I’m mischievous, but I’m calculated.”

In the magazine, LaLa dishes on her marriage, her Motives cosmetics line and her reality show.  She talked about her hectic schedule saying, "When I don't have anything to do, I don't like to do anything cause I'm always working.  Just because you do it a lot doesn't mean you get used to it."

Terrence J AND Will Packer COVER "BE" Magazine & DISH On "Think Like A Man" + Nia Long & Larenz Tate REFLECT On "Love Jones"

Posted: 14 Mar 2012 09:49 AM PDT

Dapper fellas Will Packer & Terrence J, both gearing up for their upcoming Think Like A Man film, are celebrating their style on the new double cover of BE Entertained Magazine.   See their covers inside, plus what Nia Long, Larenz Tate and Isaiah Washington had to say about their classic film Love Jones......

In the latest issue of BE magazine, (which releases nationwide on March 26th), Terrence & Will both discuss the impact the Think Like A Man film has made on their perspective careers.  They showcase just how BOSS they both are, getting fly from head to toe and draped in grown man attire.

In the article, Terrence J says,

"This movie is a laugh fest, with so many good moments in it. It'll also get you to think; there are certain topics that are discussed in Steve Harvey's book, like opening doors for young ladies, young ladies waiting BEfore they have sex...it deals with all of these issues, so hopefully it'll get some good dialogue and conversation going. I want everyone to feel proud about the movie, hopefully think a little more about relationships, and to have a lot of fun & laugh."

And Will jokingly adds,

"Terrence is horrible...I'm just going to tell you. Terrence J showed up late, he didn't know his lines, he's really not much BEtter than AJ. 106 has BEen downhill ever since. [laughs hysterically] Terrence J is my man! He's a great kid, he's like a brother to me. He came in to the table reading with all of his lines memorized and just to give you some perspective, nobody does that..."

Check out the trailer for the movie below, also starring Gabby Union, Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, Meagan Good, Chris Brown, Kevin Hart and plenty more:

And in classic flicks.....

Nia Long, Larenz Tate and Isaiah Washington talked to ESSENCE.com about the 15th anniversary of one of our fave films of all times, Love Jones.  Here are the highlights:

On the film’s impact:
LONG: I think Love Jones showed Black love in a way that we hadn’t seen on film in a very long time, specifically our generation of young people. It wasn’t the typical romantic comedy where it was about the jokes. I think the comedy was appreciated through the real-life situations. I also think it was pretty – the way it was shot, the lighting, the vibe of the movie was just very sexy and very cutting-edge. I think the film came out before its time, and I feel really lucky to be a part of something that has continued to resonate with people through all these years.

TATE: I realized the impact when I would be walking somewhere and someone would be like, "Love Jones!" I still meet women who say, "That’s in my DVD collection." I would talk to Nia, and she’d say, "That movie makes people go crazy." I also knew it was serious when brothers would come and say "Love Jones, man, that movie really helped me." It’s gotten so big that people do poetry Love Jones celebrations every single year, like Trekkies celebrate Star Trek.

WASHINGTON: I think, based on the soundtrack, everyone wanted to see this movie with us in it… There was no film like that. We hadn’t had Best Man yet or Jumping the Broom. Those films couldn’t have happened without Love Jones. I feel good about that. We opened the door to a film where African-Americans were on screen and they weren’t killing each other.

Their favorite scenes:
LONG: The scene in the rain where Darius and Nina have their last kiss. It was so cold outside. I didn’t expect for the rain to be that cold, because it was movie rain. But then it really rained. So we had a combination of warm and cold rain. I went back into my trailer and I literally wrapped myself with plastic bags to try to stay warm. There was a big argument about that scene because everyone was like, "Black women don’t like to get their hair wet, and this is unrealistic." That’s not true. We can be in the moment. We’re not that concerned about our hair.

On the possibility of a sequel:
LONG: There’s talk about it. Larenz and I, if we do it, we’re going to do it right, and we’re gonna do it together. It’s a classic film and it has to be handled as such. And if these two characters can grow in a realistic way and we can do the film in a way that still gives people the feeling of "Wow, there’s still movies about Black love."

Are you feeling a possible Love Jones sequel?  Read the rest over at ESSENCE.

Brandy & Monica Roll To "The Breakfast Club," Talk Marriages, Boyfriends, Whitney & Stalkers

Posted: 14 Mar 2012 09:09 AM PDT

Brandy was spotted out and about in NYC yesterday (now she knows she's hot in this big ass fur as it was damn near 80 degrees in the City yesterday) before hitting up Power 105 this morning with her girl Monica.  Check out B Rocka & Mo's interview with The Breakfast Club inside...

Before hitting up the Power 105 studio to chat up Charlamagne, DJ Envy & Angela Yee, Brandy was spotted in her tan & gold sneakers walking the streets of NYC with her team:

The pretty singer met up with her "It All Belongs To Me" collabo partner Monica for the interview.  The twosome discussed Brandy's cold career & car accident and how social media causes the pain of the accident to never go away.  And yes, Brandy addressed Ray J's hilarious rant towards Fabolous from last year.  She even dished on her new boyfriend.

Brandy and Monica both revealed where they were when they received the news Whitney Houston died and the effect it is having on them.  And they both spoke on the "beef" that was manufactured between them years ago.

By the way, Monica tells a story of a stalker who tackled her backstage at a show!  Check out the interview in full below:

NEW MUSIC: Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose & Rick Ross "Never Been (Part 2)"

Posted: 14 Mar 2012 08:21 AM PDT

Wiz Khalifa just dropped his newest heavily anticipated mixtape last night online called Taylor Allderdice.  And, of course, Wiz put his fiancee' Amber Rose on a track with himself and Rick Ross.  Check out "Never Been (Part 2)" inside...

This track is mad hot...but Amber could have been left off as she makes it sound amateur.  The fellas lay down verses over a dope beat and Amber raps (slightly) a verse of her own.  She sounds more like a mixtape voiceover drop chick though.

"Never Been (Part 2)" is the follow up to "Never Been," which appeared on Wiz's 2010 Kush & Orange Juice mixtape.

Wiz tweeted about the track: "Never Been Pt. 2 Was Recorded In The Process Of Makin This Album Too #JustSoYouKnow"

His second studio album, O.N.I.F.C. (Only Nigga In First Class), drops this spring.

Olivia Hits "106 & Park," Dishes On New Album & New Label

Posted: 14 Mar 2012 07:51 AM PDT

R&B reality chick Olivia made an appearance on BET's "106 park" last night.

Looking fabulous in a white exaggerated shoulder white blazer and hot orange skinny jeans, the "Love & Hip Hop" star walked on her "Walk Away" video which was released back in January.   Check out her new album details and if she'll make a "Love & Hip Hop" return inside...

Olivia revealed her new album Show The World will indeed be out this year.  And she wanted no collaborations on the tracks as she wants her fans to get to know her.  But she's got a great lineup of producers including Missy Elliot, Ryan Leslie, Mario Winans, & Sean Kingston.

The "December" singer revealed she's happy she held out for a better record deal than what we saw her struggling with on last season of the show.  Because she now has exactly what she wants and the ink is almost dry on the contract.  She will reveal her new label home in 2 weeks.

Ms. Olivia also confirmed she'll be back for the third season of "Love & Hip Hop."

Here's her interview with Rocsi & Terrence:

And Olivia chatted backstage about how silly she is in real life--like Kevin Hart in her own head--but the "Love & Hip Hop" show always portrays her as so serious:

YBF EXCLUSIVE: Estelle Lands "VIBE VIXEN" March 2012 Cover, DISHES On Her Lauryn Hill Inspiration

Posted: 14 Mar 2012 07:25 AM PDT

R&B chick Estelle covers the March 2012 issue of "VIBE VIXEN" were she dishes on failed relationships, Lauryn Hill and being a celebrity.  Highlights inside....

In the latest issue of VIBE VIXEN, Estelle is giving pretty face time and is featured in an article called 'Estelle: All Dressed Up In Love.'  She dishes on failed relationships and being inspired by Lauryn Hill.  Here are the highlights....

On the failed relationship that inspired her album
All Of Me
I didn’t feel good. I didn’t wake up in the morning smiling. In arelationship when that starts to happen, you might want to push them while you’re in it. They say through thick and thin, but when it’s always thick and it’s always bad and it’s always negative, it’s never really going to turn into something. You know it’s going to be wrong but you’re like, no I want to stick around. It’s a waste of your life.

On being a celebrity in a relationship
You’re going to pay for it for who you are somehow. I won’t complain. I love my life, I love my job, I love what the hell I do, and I love who I am. This is my existence. This is what I do. But it’s a tough thing to have to deal with always having that hung over your head, that feeling of well, he might throw that at me that he cooked for me today, like that’s not standard. I didn’t cook for him the entire week because, well, I’m me and I should be lucky that somebody wants to do that for me.

On the album's Lauryn Hill influence

That was intentional. I think people need to talk. They need to have the conversation that [Lauryn’s] album had. They need to have that pull together that the album had and remind people that skits are fun, too. And it reminded me that I wasn’t alone, again.

A second cover for the issue hits stands later this month.  Check out the full article at 12p ET over at VIBE VIXEN.

REAL Basketball Wife Tamia Has Some Words About The "Basketball Wives"+ GIANTS Star Devin Thomas Is Newly Single

Posted: 13 Mar 2012 02:54 PM PDT

Basketball wife Tamia (married to Phoneix Suns baller Grant Hill) recently dished on her new single and album "Beautiful Surprise" and offered up her thoughts about the "reality" of "Basketball Wives." Find out what she said inside and get the deets on GIANTS baller Devin Thomas' breakup inside....

Gorgeous singer Tamia recently chatted with HuffPost Black Voices about her new album Beautiful Surprise, her marriage to baller Grant Hill and what she thinks about "Basketball Wives."  Here are the highlights:

Since you're married to an athlete, what are your thoughts on the perception of the "Basketball Wives" franchise?

Well, I think the perception is definitely not a reality. I think, to be fair, a lot of those women [on the show] aren't wives. And I'm good friends with Shaunie. And as far as business is concerned, I applaud her, but I think that it's definitely very misleading in terms of what our lives are about. I do have a lot of friends who are married to athletes, and a lot of these women are involved in charities, doing all kinds of things behind the scenes and are supportive wives, and -- believe it or not -- have supportive husbands who are really great guys. I think not only for the women, but I think it just paints a really bad picture about the men as well. I think for athletes in general, people are like, "Why would you want to marry an athlete?" And that goes back to what I was saying to you: what works in one person's marriage, may not work in the next. So keep your eyes focused on yours! I guess it's interesting TV, but it's definitely not reality.

I'm hearing that Grant [Hill] is also featured in your upcoming video for "Beautiful Surprise." What was it like to work with him on the set?

Yeah, after 15 years. He's like, "I finally made it in the video!" Now, he'll tell you that I choose him because he was cheap! [Laughs] But we had a lot of fun. And it was interesting just seeing him in that mode. Obviously he's done lots of commercials and bouncing basketballs in sweatpants. But this was a totally different thing.

What are some things that you guys do to help keep your marriage thriving?

I always say, "What works in one marriage may not work in the next. So definitely keep your eyes focused on your own relationship." I think it's important to understand that you guys are going to grow. Obviously, I'm not the same person that I was at 24, and he's not the same person that he was. But we also together allowed each other to grow as well and stay connected at the same time. And I think that's important. And obviously, communication is super important. And at the end of the day we just love being with each other and being really good friends.

And if you're interested in becoming a "Football Wife"...

There's a new free agent on the market.  In more ways than one.  Hottie Superbowl champ Devin Thomas recently posted on Facebook that he split from his girlfriend...and may split from his team:

For those who are confused, Unrestricted free agent means if i choose, i can go to any team that offers. Im also a single man now. Which means i can date any woman that i choose. Get it? Got it? Good!

So if you are a NFL team owner or a single lady who thinks Devin could get it, get your checkbook and/or phone number ready (whichever applies).

Leopard flats wearing Beyoncé was spotted in downtown NYC today while she and Blue kicked it around their neighborhood.  And even with one missing huge hoop earring, doting Mama Bey looked every bit the cute and stylish NYC mom:

Even Blue rocked her gold flats.

Fab times.  Bey & hubby Jay-Z just took in The Dream's concert Sunday night in the VIP section of SOBs in NYC.  Gotta love the glamorous parental life.

YBF EXCLUSIVE: Rich Dollaz SETS THE RECORD Straight, Admits Chaundrea Nicole COULD POSSIBLY Be His Baby's Mother--And He's Offered Up A Paternity Test!

Posted: 13 Mar 2012 02:19 PM PDT

"Love & Hip Hop" manager Rich Dollaz spoke to TheYBF.com exclusively to clear up rumors regarding Chaundrea Nicole and his "alleged" 12-year old child.  He also revealed who may NOT be returning to Season 3 of "Love & Hip Hop."  Find out all inside....

Rich Dollaz, a well-known manager in the game (Olivia, Ryan Leslie, Cory Gunz, DJ Webstar) spoke to TheYBF.com today to clear up rumors surrounding his involvement with Chaundrea Nicole and the 12-year-old girl she claims he fathered.

Bottom line: Rich admits he and Chaundrea indeed smashed about 12 years ago and the child could be his.

Rich, who is a single father of two, says he likes to keep his private life out of the mix.  He tells TheYBF.com:

"This is somebody I know and the baby could very well be mine.  If it is mine, it will be taken care of."

He added that he plans to get to the bottom of this.  He has reached out to Chaundrea about a DNA test....but here's where the ish goes left.

Rich kept it honest and told TheYBF.com that after he found out about the little girl, he reached out to her:

"We spoke and now me and the little girl have a relationship. She wants me to see her for spring break and my family wants to meet her."

He adds that all was going well until a web video (we told you about earlier) surfaced a few weeks ago.  Check it below.

So if Rich has been communicating with the little girl AND offered to take a DNA test....why would Chaundrea release a video claiming he denies the child and is a deadbeat?  And most importantly, Rich says Chaundrea NEVER responded to HIS request for a DNA test. Interesting.

Rich says:

"This is just her latest attempt to get some shine. With all that already being established, (e.g. DNA, phone conversations) why are you on blogs now?"  He adds, "Chaundrea has seen my family before.  So is this all about getting some shine.  I just honestly don't understand the motives."

Valid point.  In all of the postings Chaundrea makes sure she mentions that she models, her daughter models and that she hopes to move to Atlanta to break into the entertainment industry.  Just sayin'...

”What are your motives ma?" Rich told us about Chaundrea.  "If your motives are to get your baby to have a father and being taken care of, you are going about it the wrong way. You are just trying to get a come up.”

Hopefully....these two will be able to work this out, if that is really what Chaundrea wants.

In addition to the drama, Rich also spoke about the positive aspects of his career and life.

On "Love & Hip Hop" Season 3:

Rich says they won't start taping until AFTER the production company finishes with the ATL spinoff.  He says that at this point, Chrissy and Jim still haven't confirmed if they will come back and Mama Jones may be doing her own show.  He added that he hopes Erica Mena and Fabolous get more airtime next season.

On rumors he allegedly slept with co-star Erica Mena:

"We are not dating. We are cool.  But people also said me and Olivia were dating. If you are a man and out with a woman, people speculate.  But Erica is a talented girl and her hustle is crazy."

On co-star Somaya Reece's recent breast reduction surgery:

Just for laughs, we asked Rich if he thought smaller boobs would impact Somaya's career:

“I don’t know.  I don’t think her titties will help with her rap skills.  If you are a rapper, you should worry about rapping.  But more power to her.  People think I don’t like shorty, but she has an ill hustle.  I don’t hate her, I just think she goes about things the wrong way."

Ha!

Rihanna & Drake's "Take Care" Video Sneak Peek, Rih Blames The Paparazzi For Her Boob Pics

Posted: 13 Mar 2012 11:22 AM PDT

A few more intimate pics from Rihanna and Drake's upcoming "Take Care" video have been released.  Check out the twosome in their new minimilistic vid, plus what Rihanna had to say about THESE boob revealing pics....

The "Take Care" track, which appears on both Drake's Take Care album and Rihanna's Talk that Talk album, will have black and white cutesy couple visuals a la the twosome's colorful "What's My Name" video.

Director Yoann Lemoine revealed he wanted to keep a humble feel for the video as he caught Drake & Rihanna's close off-screen vibe:

"They seemed to be super close and that's what I wanted for the video. Visually, it's a very humble video. ... It's not crazy. It's actually the most indie video I've done my whole life. It's probably the most famous artists, and they were so open to a project that was so minimal."

And reportedly the video is laced with a "group of muscular male performers acting out tribal dance scenes" and shots of various animals moving in sync.

ThisIsRnB posted these glimpses into the video which airs soon.

And after Sunday's boob revealing pics while out and about for dinner in NYC, Rihanna took the paps to task as they caught up with her last night while she left her hotel.

She signed tons of autographs and took pics with all her fans who asked.  When the camera guys asked her if she'd seen her revealing pics on the net yet, she responded, "You mean my t*tties?"  Ha!  And then jokingly laid into the paparazzi blaming them for using the flash on their cameras.  Check the video here.

BONUS: Speaking of sneak peeks, here's another sneak peek into Ashanti's "The Woman You Love" video:

Leah Remini CLAIMS Sharon Osbourne Got Her & Holly Robinson FIRED + Jordin Sparks DISHES On "Sparkle" And Whitney Doing The "Dougie"

Posted: 13 Mar 2012 11:17 AM PDT

New York-bred spitfire Leah Remini is speaking out (glad somebody FINALLY is) about her and Holly Robinson Peete getting fired from "The Talk."  And she says co-host Sharon Osbourne is the reason! Find out why inside and hear what Jordin Sparks recently said about Whitney Houston and their "Sparkle" movie.....

Actress Leah Remini took to her Twitter account yesterday and held back very little while explaining why she and actress Holly Robinson Peete were fired from CBS' chatfest "The Talk."  Everyone on the show has remained mum on what went down.  The co-hosts still there have still not even addressed their exit.  Instead, CBS simply replaced them with comediennes Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler.

Leah tweeted, "Sharon thought me and Holly were 'Ghetto', (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn't know ourselves... She had us fired."

How does Leah know this for sure?  She tweeted,

yes. That's what she revealed on Howard Stern. Quite sad to find out that way

Then added,

This kind of foolishness doesn't usually happen between actors. which she is not. Different kind of ppl.

And for those of you who are wondering how you replace two so-called "ghetto" actresses with Sheryl Underwood, a fan tweeted Leah,

if so then it looks like Sheryl is the next to go cause Sharon looks like "shut up bitch" when Sheryl is talking

And Leah responded,

"That's who she is. she did that to me everyday. I feel for them. She has the power that was given to her. And yes, you are also right"

Last we checked the only person who had power to get anybody on that show fired is the woman who is literally in bed with CBS President Les Moonves--his wife and main co-host of "The Talk," Julie Chen.

This is all very messy.  So far, we haven't had a response from Holly Robinson Peete (and we don't expect one).  Holly took the high road and would not directly address the issue when she appeared on "Wendy" a few weeks ago.

Also.........

Jordin Sparks recently chatted with Ebony.com about the legacy of Whitney Houston and her role in "Sparkle." Here are the highlights.....

EBONY.com: Last time I saw you, you were having a Dougie dance contest on the set of the Sparkle. Who won?

Sparks: (Laughs) We were doing it up there and Whitney walked in and was like, ‘What is that?’ And I was like, ‘It’s called the Dougie!’ And we started doing it and she started doing it … I was not expecting her to join in with us, but it was so much fun. She was like that. She was just really down-to-earth and really cool. We had an amazing time. She was so funny. So funny.

The talented actress went on to talk about her Sparkle role saying,

“It was the most incredible experience I’ve ever had.  It’s actually my first role in a movie, so going there was insane. I’d wake up every morning and I’d go get ready to do the scenes and here comes Whitney into the trailer and she’s singing and blasting gospel music and just singing along to it and I’m just sitting there going, ‘This is the best thing ever!‘ I grew up listening to her music, I sang her songs into a hairbrush, like, I love her movies; it was incredible to be able to be around her.”

Jordin added that Whitney was a great mentor saying,

Kevin Costner was so sweet to her and was so kind and just really wanted to mentor her and give her an amazing experience on her first film. And I found out that she wanted to do the same for me because it was my first and it was something that I was really nervous about and she really did that.”

“She was always making sure I was OK, always asking if I needed something. In serious scenes, if the camera was on me, … she’d be making faces at me trying to make me crack. And I was like, ‘I’m gonna get you for that!’ But she was really, really sweet and her music will definitely live on forever. I sing her songs constantly in my head all day. But she was an amazing woman.”
