NEW GIGS: Tamar Braxton SIGNS To Epic Records? Jurnee Smollet-Bell's First Day On "True Blood" & Kevin Hart RE-UPS For Season 2 Of "Real Husbands" Posted: 09 Mar 2013 08:50 AM PST Tamar Braxton, Jurnee Smollett and Kevin Hart and among The YBFers who've added their names to new payrolls.  Find out about their new gigs inside.... According to the Epic Records website, Tamar Braxton has joined their payroll and roster and  has inked a record deal with the label.  Though there hasn't been an official word from Epic or Tamar about the deal, she's clearly listed on their website as one of their artists.  And since there's no photo to accompany her name, we guess she hasn't gone on her first label-funded photoshoot yet.   And with the success of her "Love and War" single, we're sure the label has her working very hard to put out a product soon.  One interesting note, her single (which had 84,000 downloads) was removed from iTunes only to reappear under the Epic Records banner.   Congrats Tamar!   And in tv gigs...... Jurnee Smollet-Bell, who's currently starring in Tyler Perry’s flick Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor (March 29), will be starring in the new season of HBO's "True Blood."  She tweeted a photo from the set with the caption: "Time to get to work ...@HBOTrueBlood #BonTemps #TrueBloodSeason6".... According to Deadline, Jurnee will be a series regular.  She'll play Nicole Wright, a wide-eye character "who is not concerned with money and more concerned with the common good and doing what’s right."  So we guess she won't be playing a vampire....   Also in television news.... Kevin Hart has signed on for a second season of "RHOH" on BET.  And since the show was a breakout success for the network, we're sure his paycheck received a significant upgrade.  He tweeted,  In a press release about the renewal, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, Stephen Hill, said, “When we launched this series in January, we knew our audience would have as much fun watching it as we had making it, and since it has been on the air, fans have voiced on social media that they want more. So this was a pretty simple decision: ‘Hey! Let’s make more! We are beyond thrilled that Kevin Hart and the stellar Husbands will be back bickering and back-biting for another season on BET.”   Meanwhile, Kevin's next comedy film, "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain" hits theaters July 3, 2013.  Congrats Kevin!

Lil' Kim FILES $ 1 Million Lawsuit Against Former Attorneys Over BOTCHED BUSINESS DEALS Posted: 09 Mar 2013 07:54 AM PST The Queen Bee put her stinger in motion this week as she filed a big money lawsuit againt her former lawyers and went on defense towards social media outlets she claims have been posting distorted pics of her image. Find out what Lil' Kim is so steamed inside... This week, Lil' Kim filed a lawsuit against her former attorney Sunny Barkats and his partner, Andrew Ro, claiming the pair swindled her out of “valuable trademark and branding rights” related to liquor, makeup, and fashion endorsements. The $1 Million lawsuit claims Sunny and Andrew tricked her into transactions that gave them a 44% stake in a corporation formed to license her brand names.  For his part, Sunny claims the lawsuit is a “frivolous” attempt for her to break their contract. We're impressed that the Lil' Kim brand is still valued in the millions (according to her lawsuit).  Sting 'em Queen! And Sunny and Andrew weren't the only folks who were on the receiving end of a sting this week..  Lil' Kim and her camp are blasting the media for "distorting" pics of her face.  She claims that the photo above, and others we showed you as she left MTV's studios this past week, don't reflect how she really looks.   And her rep, CJ Carter released a statement saying,  "We would like to inform fans, the media, and the general public that this is nothing more than the blog site doing its best to conjure up much needed publicity and what better way to do so, than to take an American music icon and create a fictitious platform in which to disrespect and humiliate. We at Team Lil Kim are not taking this lying down and are taking this matter very seriously." We understand that Lil' Kim isn't comfortable with the way she looks, but, she should know there is not a national conspiracy to distort her image. For that...we'd blame her surgeon....or doctor.  Those pics, as with all candids we post, are real, actual untouched raw images taken by paparazzi. Rihanna KICKS OFF "Diamonds" World Tour...First Performance Pics & Video From Buffalo Posted: 09 Mar 2013 06:57 AM PST The first night of Rihanna's "Diamonds" world tour kicked off with a bang last night in Buffalo, NY.  The pop diva took the stage to rock out to tracks from all of her albums, and did it in several colorful and body baring outfit changes.   Check the pics and video inside....     The set was complete with pyro, a few choreographed routines and more outfit changes than a little bit.  She performed every track from her latest Diamonds album, but threw in her most popular tracks from past albums as well.   She switched up from heels to sneakers to boots depending on the look.  And the sold out crowd ate it up.  Her Rihanna for River Island collaborator, Adam Selman, helped design the outfits for the tour.   He told the NY Times last week about dressing her slim & toned bod, 'Her body is so insane. It’s the dream body to make clothes for. You don’t have to try as hard.'       The "Pour It Up" chick tweeted her fans: 'No words, just DIAMONDS!!! #EPICshit #BUFFALO $old out!!!  #BUFFALO I will never forget how you made me feel tonight!!! Taye Diggs Does "GOT MILK" Ad With Son Walker + Custody Battle BETWEEN Deion & Pilar Sanders GETS NASTY With Steroid Abuse ALLEGATIONS Posted: 08 Mar 2013 04:19 PM PST Taye Diggs recently unveiled the "Got Milk" ad her shot with his adorable son Walker. See the ad inside and get the latest on the nasty custody battle between Deion and Pilar Sanders. Earlier in the week, Taye Diggs attended the unveiling of the new Milk Mustache "got milk" ad campaign at Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood, CA.  The unveiling showcased an adorable ad he shot with his 3-year-old son Walker as a part of Kellogg's efforts to show the role milk's protein plays at their breakfast table. Also, the ad highlights the company's efforts to share breakfast with children in need through the Share Breakfast program.  Taye spoke about the joy of shooting the ad with People saying, “Being able to shoot the Got Milk? ad with my son was one of the better times in life just because, obviously, the ad is going to last forever.” But shooting the ad with little Walker wasn't easy as Taye has to get "creative" in order to keep Walker's attention.  “We had to constantly make up games and excuses just to keep him occupied So when it seems like he’s smiling, he’s actually roaring because he wanted to be a tiger.” Watch Taye discuss the ad and fighting childhood hunger here:     And in less kid-friendly news.... Things have gotten VERY nasty in the custody battle between Deion Sanders and estranged wife Pilar Sanders.  In fact, Deion stormed out of court earlier today after Pilar accused him of abusing steroids.  The tension was so high that the judge dismissed the jury so the lawyers could continue to argue the relevance of such an allegation (without causing prejudice with the jury). During recess, Deion took to Twttier to deny any type of substance abuse saying,  And if steroid allegations weren't enough, NBC reports both sides have accused the other of cheating during the marriage and have used witnesses to question one another's character.  And in an interesting twist, Pilar's lawyer called Deion's NEW girlfriend Tracey Edmonds to the stand.  Of course Tracey was NOT there (even though she had been subpoenaed).  THAT would that have been a made-for-tv-moment though... According to the Dallas Morning News, Pilar spent most of the day crying on the stand and has made allegations that Deion threatened her and is trying to detroy her career.  Also, she tried to build a case for why she should have full-custody. Jill Scott Nabs Role On CBS Pilot "Second Sight" + Evan Ross To Play DALLAS AUSTIN In "TLC" Biopic + Tina Turner COVERS German VOGUE Posted: 08 Mar 2013 12:26 PM PST Jill Scott has landed a leading role on the upcoming CBS pilot "Second Sight."  Get deets on the show inside and find out who Evan Ross will play in the TLC biopic and see Tina Turner's German VOGUE cover....   Fab chick Jill Scott continues to make major moves in Hollywood.  Having already landed leads roles in Steel Magnolias and The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, she's now signed on to co-star with Jason Lee in "Second Sight."  The pilot, taped for CBS, is based on the British series, "Second Sight."  According to Deadline, it's described as "a gothic psychological thriller about Tanner (Lee), the lead detective with the New Orleans Police Department who is hiding the fact that he has an ocular disorder that causes him to have horrifying hallucinations." Jill will play Dr. Callier, the specialist who treats Jason's ocular disease. Meanwhile, actor Derek Luke is also a part of the cast, playing Det. Paul Giroux, a new member of Jason's team. In the meantime, Jill also stars in Fox Searchlight’s Baggage Claim. But music fans shouldn't fear that she's turning her back on performing.  In fact, she just booked a gig headlining the Indiana Black Expo concert on July 20.   And in television movie news... Evan Ross has joined the cast of the TLC biopic as producer Dallas Austin.  Dallas, who's well-known for producing some of TLC's biggest hit, is also the father of Chilli's son Tron.  Evan will join Keke Palmer as Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, Drew Sidora as Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lil' Mama as the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Donny Boaz as TLC's manager Bill Diggins. It seems as though they've pretty much filled the major slots but were dying to know who's going to play Pebbles, LA Reid and Babyface!   And on magazine racks...... She's STILL got it.  Music icon Tina Turner lands on the April 2013 issue of German VOUGE. The cover photo, shot by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer, shows the legendary entertainer wearing a midnight blue blouse by Giorgio Armani. Both the pants and the belt are vintage Giorgio Armani. And her makeup was done using Giorgio Armani Cosmetics. It's worth noting that this is Tina's first VOGUE cover (ever) and at age 73, she's the most "mature" (we wouldn't dare say oldest) woman to command the coveted honor.  Fabulous!

Find out what she said about RiRi, and her upcoming appearance on "The Game" inside......   Ciara called in to 107.5 WGCI's "Tony Sculfield and the Morning Riot" this morning to promote her upcoming appearance on "The Game" and her latest single, "Body Party."   But before she could talk about her own projects, she was sprayed with questions about rapper Future.  CiCi playfully ignored the hosts and only spoke about her excitement over "Body Party" (which Future wrote with Mike Will Made It). She also talked about the photo that Rihanna's bestie Melissa Forde put on Instagram and she denied that KFC ever tried to sell or promote her Fantasy Ride disc.  Here are the highlights:   On Rihanna & Melissa's Instagram Photo (which many fans interpreted as a diss) "In my mind, I operate from a place or love and support.  And if you would have ask me about her up until this point, I would have nothing but good things to say because I'm sincerely happy for her.  But I didn't receive what they did from a positive place."   On "The Game" She revealed that she plays an entertainer named "Ciara" but it's only loosely based on her life. (Um, OK.) "The things that I do are things I could NEVER do as a person!  It the unexpectedness of me as an entertainer and it gets real serious." The Women actress Jada Pinkett Smith raised a few eyebrows and caused quite the commotion on her Facebook page with a question about women turning to other women for intimacy.  Jada, who's been the subject of rumors regarding her possibly having secret romantic relationships with other women herself, asked her fans if there was a reason heterosexual people look to the same sex as a last resort for intimacy. Check out her statement and pic she posted below, and speak on it.   Before I begin...I want to make one thing clear. It's important that you know that I believe love comes in ALL forms. I believe a person should love WHOMEVER...HOWEVER they choose. But...I do have a question. In the last month, three women, in their 40s, coming out of long term relationships with men have confided in me that they now feel that their last resort for companionship is that with a woman. These are women who have never engaged in or even desired to be in intimate relationships with other women. Now these women feel as though they have no other option. It seems as if there is a spike in same sex love all around.
