Girls Rule, Boys Drool For Idol Ratings!

The boys did well for their American Idol live debut, but guess what??

The girls did better!!

The ratings are in, and the girls ended up playing to an audience of 17 million (versus the boys' 16.1 mil) while scoring a 4.9 demo rating!

That just means the boys will have to prove their worth in the top 13 next week!

ABC ended up doing well too -- just not on par with FOX -- with The Middle and Happy Endings getting bumps from season lows.

They just can't step to Idol! Not like NCIS, anyway!

Justin Bieber Buying Himself AND His Mom A Mansion For His Birthday!

It's good to be the Biebs...and it's good to be his mom!

Sources are saying that for his 18th birthday, Justin Bieber is treating himself to a multi-million dollar mansion AND he's going to buy one for his mother while he's at it!

We're hearing that he's found 3 places he REALLY likes! Two of them are in Calabasas, CA, and one is in Hollywood (and is currently being rented by Ashton Kutcher).

The places that Justin's looking at have price tags of $6 million, $8 million, and $10 million! Wow!

No word yet on which mansion he'll be getting for himself and which one he'll choose for his mom...but we have a feeling she'll be happy with ANY of these! In fact, if he finds another one for $4 million, we bet she'd be okay with that too! Ha!

Would U buy UR mom a mansion if U had millions of dollars???

Wiz Khalifa And Amber Rose Are Engaged!!!!

How exciting!

Back in January, Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa said that they'd like to get married when the time is right!

Guess the time must be RIGHT NOW, because the two have announced their engagement on Twitter!

Here's what Amber Rose had to say about it in a caption along with the photo (above):

He has made me the Happiest Woman in the World!!!!

And here's what Wiz had to say about it:

She Said Yes!!!

How sweet! We wish them both the best, and we CAN'T wait to see some engagement photos!!!

Mad Men NYC Ads Are Offensive To 9/11 Families!

New Yorkers are NOT liking AMC's new Mad Men ads.

Even though the billboards of Don Draper "falling" (above) are references to the show's opening sequence, families of 9/11 victims are taking serious offense to the ads.

Here's what Deborah Burlingame (whose father piloted the jet that was forced to crash into the Pentagon) had to say about the ads:

"I find it impossible to believe that any advertiser could be so stupid as to think you can put up a billboard in New York City which shows a human being tumbling down in space and not imagine that this will evoke the tragic memory of those poor souls on 9/11."

"I think this advertiser has decided that creating a controversy, at the expense of the thousands of people who will be hurt by this image of man falling to his certain death, is worth it."

And more from Nancy Nee, whose firefighter brother was killed in the 9/11 attacks:

"It seems that Hollywood, and now advertising, doesn't care about the sensitivities of the families and New Yorkers."

And here's what the Mad Men creators had to say about the ads:

"The image of Don Draper tumbling through space has been used since the show began in 2007 to represent a man whose life is in turmoil."

"The image used in the campaign is intended to serve as a metaphor for what is happening in Don Draper's fictional life and in no way references actual events."

Janet Jackson Will NOT Be A Judge On X Factor

Ah well! This would have been awesome, but at least we still might get to see Brit Brit on the show!

Over the past couple of weeks, we had heard rumors that Janet Jackson had been expressing interest in joining X Factor as a judge.

Now, Janet has opened up about about the X rumors, and she's saying that she WON'T join the show as a judge for its upcoming season:

"[I'm] very flattered that X Factor let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just wouldn't be possible."

When asked why she couldn't do the show, Janet mentioned that she had a "previous commitment to her Numbers Ones Up Close and Personal Tour," as well as another commitment to Lionsgate (the studio behind the Tyler Perry movies. She has starred in a few of them).

Here's more from Team Janet:

"There have been absolutely no meetings between Janet and anyone with regard to X-Factor."

We're certainly bummed to hear this, but we know one person who does NOT have a commitment to Lionsgate, and who would LOVE to be a judge....

Florence Welch took home 2 NME awards last night, beating out Adele for Best Solo Artist and and Best Track (Shake It Up).

Oh Beebs, what a stud you are!

While hanging out with Ellen on his 18th birthday the sassy talk show host bestowed upon Justin the "present" of a super fan...without telling the fan!

Ellen sent her reps to collect the unknowing girl from her house, blindfolded her, put her in a giant present box and carted her off to the studio.

Her reactions - both to realizing she's on the Ellen show and to finally seeing Bieber - are totally heart-warming!

We LOVE when celebs do stuff like this for their fans, and Beebs never disappoints.

Brad Pitt Joins Dustin Lance Black's Prop 8 Play Reading!

A-MAZING!

A few weeks ago, we mentioned that we couldn't be prouder of the Hollywood community for supporting the L.A. reading of Dustin Lance Black's VERY important Proposition 8 play entitled 8.

As a reminder, the play explores the case filed by the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) to overturn Proposition 8.

Now, we're THRILLED to announce that Brad Pitt has joined the already star-studded cast for 8, which features the following talented actors:

Chris Colfer, Kevin Bacon, John C. Reilly, George Clooney, Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison and Martin Sheen.

The one-night performance takes place on March 3rd at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in L.A., and it will ALSO be live-streamed on YouTube!

We will definitely be watching this. Thanks for getting involved, Brad!

Ellen Pompeo Does NOT Think Katherine Heigl Will Return To Grey's Anatomy!

Far more than her actual, audible answer anyway! Ha!

During Ellen Pompeo's recent interview on Chelsea Lately, she was asked by the talk show host whether or not her former co-star, Katherine Heigl, would be returning to the series Grey's Anatomy, as she's said in recent interviews that she'd like to return to film guest spots!

Well, see how Ellen responds (above...at the 5:49 mark)!

Given how much hell Katherine seemed to put the cast and crew through during her years at Izzie Stevens, can't say we're too surprised!

Such a shame, though! We wouldn't mind seeing the CHARACTER again!

But sometimes the reward isn't worth the actress baggage that comes with it! LOLz!

P.S. Who knew Ellen Pompeo was so HIGHlarious?! This interview is GREAT!
