McDonald's honored Chaka Khan, Grant Hill and wife Tamia and Bishop T.D. Jakes for their charity work on Friday at a big bash in New Orleans ahead of the Festival concerts . See pics and get deets inside....
Yesterday, tons of YBF professionals packed the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans for the 2012 McDonald's® 365Black® Awards. The luncheon honors outstanding African-Americans who are making positive contributions to the community. Honorees included Chaka Khan, Bishop T.D. Jakes; Tamia and Grant Hill, teenage medical innovator Tony Hansberry, II; youth empowerment activist Mary-Pat Hector; and McDonald's owner/operators, Tina and Harold Lewis. Chaka said,
Tank walked the red carpet for the event looking dapper.
MC Lyte looked comfortable and stylish.
We love the big fro on Marsha Ambrosius.
T.D. Jakes offered words of wisdom as he accepted his award.
Tamia and Grant Hill graciously accepted their honor. Q. Parker and all his muscles was there.
Mary Mary looked radiant...and they performed!

Yesterday, Rihanna was spotted at her grandmother's funeral. See the pics inside.....
Rihanna was spotted leaving her hotel in NYC to attend her the funeral of her grandmother Clara 'Dolly' Brathwaite in Brooklyn yesterday.
She chose a navy blue dress and strappy gold heels for the service, and still kept her composure for the sad events of the day.
The starlet seemed overcome with emotion as she headed towards her limo.
After the funeral, she boarded a plane to London where she will headline Wireless Festival 2012 on Sunday. She tweeted, "#takeoff."
She also revealed her vulnerable side yesterday as she posted an Instagram message about how things have changed since Gran Gran Dolly died saying,

With his name buzzing in everyone's ear, Frank Ocean has released a new track called "Sweet LIFE." Check it out inside and get deets on his upcoming appearance on Jimmy Fallon's show. As the world watches how the music industry reacts to Frank Ocean's sexuality, he's taking advantage of the buzz and dropping a new track “Sweet LIFE.” The song will appear on his Def Jam debut Channel Orange, due July 17. And on Monday the singer will perform on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” Folks will definitely be tuning in to see if he chats about his "first love" to Jimmy.

Trey Songz has released the cover art for "Dive In" off the Chapter 5 disc. Listen inside and find out about Kanye West's next project.
Kanye West plans to record his 6th studio album after the release of the G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer. Producer No I.D. spoke to MTV News, "He's coming right after that [Cruel Summer]. I'm not working on that [Cruel Summer] album, I'm working on his album." He spoke about the G.O.O.D. Music album saying, "This is Kanye. You know what to expect from the family. He hasn't missed yet, so don't expect him to miss."

Trey Songz has dropped the cover art for the "Dive In" single off Chapter 5 (August 21). The sexually suggestive jam features some killer vocals from Trey who literally sings his partner into bed. Listen here:

Mathew Knowles has hinted there may be a new Destiny's Child album and reunion in the works. Get the deets inside and see photos of Brandy and Serena Williams hard at work on "Drop Dead Diva."
Mathew Knowles chatted in up with BlackVoices recently were he gushed over granddaughter Blue Ivy, hinted at a Destiny's Child reunion and talked about his other reality show ventures. Here are the highlights: Congratulations on the recent U.S. premiere of “Breaking From Above.” Are you planning on shooting additional episodes of the show? Yes, we’re absolutely thinking about doing that. We’re in the discussion phase right now. This is all a part of a joint venture with MTV International and so Teen Nick falls within their Viacom system. And it’s the older demo for the channel [13 to 21], with a sweet spot around 18, 19-year-olds. Which is also the sweet spot from my girl group, From Above. Will there be a Destiny’s Child reunion tour to complement the two projects? Not on the first release. It takes a year of planning to do these tours, but first it starts with the artist wanting to do it. And I think the ladies are still working happily in their solo careers. And I hope in the next five years that there is a reunion tour. I think it would be incredible. The hardest thing would be choosing which songs they’re going to do, because we would want to mix it up with solo hits and Destiny’s Child hits. We would have to throw away some number ones from off the set list [Laughs]. Destiny’s Child is one of the eight girl groups that you’ve managed in your career. In your opinion, what does it take to put together a successful girl group? Unfortunately they all weren’t successful, I wish I could say that [Laughs]. But I think with girl groups it’s all about the relationships that the members have with each other. It really boils down to that. And then the second thing is each member accepting what their role in the group is. Followed by great songs, work ethics and talents. Earlier this year your granddaughter, Blue Ivy, was born. How does it feel to have your first granddaughter in the family? Blue Ivy is a special gift, so nothing but love. The same goes to Juelz, my grandson. So I’m a proud grandpapa.

Tennis star Serena Williams and R&B singer Brandy will star on an upcoming episode of Lifetime's critically-acclaimed drama series,"Drop Dead Diva," on Sunday, July 8th at 9/8c.
For this new episode, Serena guest stars as a high profiled attorney who helps Brandy fight a case against her ex-boyfriend who owns his own law firm.
Hmmm....Serena's clothes seem a little frumpy for her to be such a high flying attorney.

Chocolate drop Tank stars in KONTROL Magazine's Sexy Body Issue where he shows off his....sexy body. In the magazine, he talks about his upcoming music and it may shock his fans, “I’m really excited about this one. I picked stuff I wanted to pick. Like the stuff I would normally pass on because it’s probably not considered a ‘Tank’ record, when a ‘Tank’ record is any record I’m on. So I kind of rolled with it that way as opposed to letting someone else tell me who I am, you know what I mean? The reason you believe what you do about me is because of what you have been able to see, but you don’t totally know me that well. He continued... For instance, if you think I just do ballads, then you only know one thing. Right now, you are just finding out that I’m a musician; that I produced and wrote a lot of records. You’re just now starting to understand who I am and what I’m capable of. So let it be instead of me letting you tell me who I am and making an album based off of what you think, let me just show you who I am. On this album, I didn’t care what record was going to radio, or which ones were going to be the single. I just didn’t care, and we called it ‘This is How I Feel’.”

Moms got married! We posted a few twitpics from around the weeding back in April right after Lil Wayne's mom Jacita Carter married her man Avery. But now the official photographer's pics are out. And Tunechi couldn't look more proud of his moms. Awww.
Check out the official pics, including Reginae, Lloyd, Baby & Bria.... Down at the Royal Palms in New Orleans back in April, Lil Wayne put on his purple vest and tux for his mom "Cita" on her wedding day. The rapper showed his softer side rocking a smile all day and clearly gushing love for his mother. And shared the duty of walking mom down the aisle with his "daddy" Baby:
Reginae was a Jr. Bridesmaid alongside her new step-granddad's grandson, and looked super cute:
Baby's daughter Bria was also in the wedding.
N.O. native Lloyd sang at the wedding.
Weezy had his sons (with Nivea and with Sarah) as the ring bearers. Awww.
And Mama Cita tatt'd her man's name on her arm so y'all know it's real. Fab times all around.

Rocking her re-useable Barack Obama grocery sack, "Reed Between The Lines" actress Tracee Ellis Ross was seen at Whole Foods in LA.
Nice to see that Tracee doesn't just give to charity....she also gives back to the earth. While gettin' it in her Porsche.
In movies.......
Jennifer Hudson's fiance and WWE wrestler David Otunga has landed a role alongside Halle Berry in The Hive. Details about David's exact role hasn't been released, but Halle will star in the thriller as a 911 operator trying to save an abducted child. Jennifer tweeted congrats to her hubby-to-be saying, "Big congratulations to my fiance @DavidOtunga in his 1st movie role with Halle berry in 'The Hive'." The film will be produced and co-financed by WWE Studios and Troika Pictures. A theater release is expected sometime in 2013.
Meanwhile, Jenny says she's ready to have another baby in the next few years And she wants a girl! She confirmed to Life & Style:
