With helpful subtitles for those of us who don’t speak baby, here we have a father’s valiant attempt to win his daughter’s affection. Whatever side of the parental fence she lands on, I think she’ll be the star of her nursery school class. Any kid knows what sound a cow makes, but fish noises are advanced. We’ve been burned before, but this time it looks like Beyonce and Jay-Z have really welcomed their little girl into the world. Little Ivy Blue Carter was born yesterday at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital. By now the general public should have given up on getting an official confirmation or denial right away from either star, but there are a few clues this birth news is the real thing. This morning Rihanna tweeted, “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih.” It’s possible she knows another Carter couple that recently had a daughter, but it would be a pretty big coincidence. Before the official Beyonce sanctioned announcement, let’s all choose to live in a world where Ivy Blue Carter does exist, and is currently resting in the world’s most fashionable baby blanket being lulled to sleep with an a cappella version of “Crazy in Love.” Related posts: Post from: Crushable |

There are a lot of ways former teen stars can show up in the news as adults, not all of them flattering, but former ’N Sync member JC Chasez has made the news this week in a good way; with some ocean-side heroics. On New Year’s Day on a Miami beach JC noticed a beach umbrella tossed up the wind from a helicopter heading straight for a baby girl. Luckily he managed to stop the projectile before it could hit and injure one-year-old Shirel. JC and his girlfriend had been talking with the little girl’s family prior to the incident, and continued chatting after the rescue; the girl’s mother is from Italy and admitted she had no idea that JC was famous. I hope this starts a trend of all former boy band members making a New Year’s resolution to fit in some heroics in 2012. A.J. McLean puts out an elementary school fire. Drew Lachey lands a plane full of peace corp volunteers after the pilot’s heart attack. It would be so much better to see those headlines fill up next year’s retrospectives instead of scandals.
