Blake Lively attended a screening of Haywire in NYC last night. Thank God Michael Fassbender wasn't there, because I don't even know what kind of hissy fit I would have if Fassy and Blake Lively were in the same contained place. I would just need to rip her hair out. It's bad enough that she was in the same contained location as Ewan McGregor!!! What must Ewan think of Blake? He probably likes her. Dudes always like Blake. Anyway, we don't have access to the red carpet photos – you can see them here. We only some photos of Blake leaving the screening, which I've included at the end of the post. I just really wanted to use the old "Chanel Ho" photo for the header. As you can imagine, Blake did the appearance because she's just signed on to Steven Soderbergh's new film – how best to support your new director than by going to see his latest film? We discussed her Soderbergh film last week – she got the lead! And she'll have to "act" too. Because Blake is a real actress! We'll see about that, Lively. We'll see. I just had to mention this, though – Lainey at LaineyGossip says that Blake's team has already been reaching out to Academy Awards producers for a possible presenting gig for Blake. Which… would be interesting. I'm surprised Blake didn't angle herself at the Oscars last year, when The Town was up for a few awards? Maybe she tried to angle and failed – whatever happened, if Blake managed to get a presenter slot, it would be her first time at the Oscars. I have mixed feelings about Blake, totally, but I enjoy talking about her and speculating about her, so I would totally welcome this. I actively WANT to see Blake on the Oscars red carpet. I was to see what kind of assy, titsy crap she wears. Would she wear Marchesa?!?! Or Chanel? And if she presents, I want to see her paired with someone awful, like Bradley Cooper, and see her try to angle it into her advantage. I want to see Blake run into (possible nominee) Leonardo DiCaprio. See – Blake is good for ratings! They should just put a camera on her and I would watch the whole live feed.

Did you know that Connor Cruise is a much in-demand DJ? Well, he’s still technically a teenager but is pulling in very livable wages by earning $5,000 to $10,000 per gig under the moniker “DJ C-Squared.” I’d like to think he’s putting that money away for his eventual defection from Scientology, but that’s probably just wishful thinking on my part. At any rate, Connor just turned 17-years-old, and he celebrated his birthday in grand fashion at Hyde Lounge in Los Angeles. Here’s a photo of his DJ-themed cake, which looks pretty funky but not at all appetizing.
Connor’s older sister, Isabella was also in attendance to support her little brother. They seem really close, and you can see photos of the two siblings embracing here with a few details about the party described by the Mail:
[From Daily Mail] At first, I was wondering why Tom and Katie weren’t in attendance at the party, but it’s nice that Connor was able to enjoy an evening with his (100% Scientology) friends without having to worry about Tom busting a move on the dance floor. Good on Tom for letting Connor have the spotlight for the evening. Unfortunately, Connor also decided to leave the Jesus necklace at home. Here’s a close-up of his new bling:
Connor is certainly turning out to be the handsome young fellow. I also find it interesting that his sneakers look a lot like Robert Downey Jr.’s instead of Tom’s shoes. There’s another conspiracy theory for the rebellion theme!
Later on in the evening, Connor took to the turntables. Presumably, he was paid to have his party at Hyde, so it would naturally follow that DJ-ing was part of the stint.
And now for an extremely odd photo of Connor alongside Christina Fulton (Weston Cage’s perpetually questionably dressed mother) at the recent Big Bang 2012 New Year’s event. I guess she was just there for the party.

More than a year ago, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter split up. They had been married for several years after meeting on Dexter, the show where Michael plays a serial killer and Jennifer plays Dexter's cop sister. Jennifer had been with Michael through cancer, and they really did seem genuinely in love, which made their breakup pretty depressing. There were rumors that Michael had fooled around with Julia Stiles when Julia was guest-starring one season, although Julia later denied it. There were also rumors that Jennifer wanted to start a family and Michael didn't. And that Michael was also fooling around with some 25-year-old Dexter staffer, and that Michael and Jennifer were very cold to each other while filming this past season of Dexter. It all sounded like a bad situation, and I sort of felt bad for Jennifer. I watched this past season of Dexter, and I kept waiting for Deb to be killed off – SPOILER – and she wasn't. The writers did do some really bizarre stuff to the Deb character, though, and there's totally a chance Deb will die next season, I think. But that's not the point – the point is that Michael and Jennifer might be reconciling. Maybe. According to Radar.
[From Radar] If they're back together, that would make me happy. I liked them together, and if Jennifer can overlook and forgive his (allegedly) douchebaggery, then good for her. I'd like to believe that they didn't stop loving each other. Sigh… does that make me sound like a romantic a–hole? I'm not. I just like them.

[From US Weekly, print edition, January 30, 2012] US goes on to remind us that Heather has been in rehab twice, in 2008 and 2010, and that she even secretly went to rehab in the past few months after she split with Jack. They quote an insider who says “Her drinking led to the demise of their relationship. [Jack] begged her to go to rehab. She entered a treatment program [after their split], which her family was able to keep quiet. But she didn’t take it seriously.” As for Heather’s career, their insider says “She’s very Hollywood. It drove her crazy that she never hit another big moment after the 90s. She’s always been very emotional. When people saw her as washed up, that made her crazy.” Heather has a lot of family and friends around her who are trying to get her into rehab, and I’m hoping they’re successful and that she can find some meaning in life. Her identity was so caught up in being a beautiful bitchy TV star that it seems like she’s never been able to move past that. The article has an inset story about how Richie Sambora and Denise Richards have split up – yet again. They also claim that the fact that these two rekindled their relationship just led Heather to drink more. I’m thinking that US’ source is Denise Richards. She used to be best friends with Heather and was her neighbor for a while. Denise claimed that she was no longer friends with Heather – and that Heather and Richie were separated – when she first hooked up with Richie in 2006. She used to talk about it constantly.

Kelly Osbourne may be back to her partying ways. Which could be one possible explanation for those horrible corpse photos from the weekend. According to Radar, Kelly has "fallen off the wagon" in a big way, having been sober since 2009, when she was in rehab for her drug and alcohol addictions. Here's the thing, though – I have doubts as to whether Kelly was ever really committed to being "on the alleged wagon." I've heard stories about her drinking and drugging post-rehab. I'm just sayin'. Here's Radar's report:
[From Radar] Sure. I'll buy that. All of it, actually. I think she's probably still drinking, and I'll buy that she bitches about Christina Aguilera when she's wasted. The problem isn't that Christina bullied Kelly (which probably did happen) – the problem is that both Christina and Kelly are boozehound monsters. Also – did you realize that Kelly is 27 years old? For whatever reason, I thought she was younger than that. I tend to think that when "celebrities" struggle with alcohol and drug problems very early, and then go into rehab and start with the program at a young age, that they're more likely to relapse later. Not to get all psychoanalytical, but I imagine it's difficult to be only 22 or 23 years old and think, "Hey, I’m 22 and I can't have a drink for the rest of my life." I'm not saying that as a justification, merely as an explanation for why Kelly seems to be back to her partying ways. (PS… Do you know why I stopped drinking to excess – and why I’ve only been drunk-ish once in a year? I don't want the extra calories. Instead of making it about sobriety, I've made it about empty alcohol calories, and it works for me. I bet it would work for Kelly too.)

This is definitely my favorite story of the week. As the awards season kicked off last week, everything quickly fell into place for Clooney Knows Best – George Clooney began picking up Best Actor awards, and he proceeded to tell all of us what we should be thinking, because obviously, we're all just dumb ladies who need to be told our opinions on important matters. Clooney's winning streak is made more interesting because he's up for all of the same awards as Brad Pitt, his friend and frequent costar. Brad and George are bros. They adore each other. But how do their respective ladies feel about each other? Turns out, according to Us Weekly's sources, La Jolie hates Stacy Keibler. TEAM JOLIE.
[From Us Weekly, print edition] "He thinks Angelina is boring and not good company at all. He does not like to spend time with her." Talk about burying the lead! Look, I know some of you will be all "Team Clooney, Angelina is the worst! Blah Blah ANISTON." But here's my particular problem: George has crappy taste in women. He loves vapid party girls, hostesses, escorts, and barely employable models/actresses. I believe that in George's mind, you don't keep a woman around for conversation. In George's mind, a woman will never be an equal partner in a relationship. THAT is why he doesn't like to spend time with Angelina. Because she's not like the vapid hookers he usually spends time with. I mean, really, he could spend two years with Elisabetta Canalis and yet he's "bored" by a conversation with Angelina? So much for Clooney trying to get his feminist street-cred. As for the Stacy-Angelina situation – well, how many girlfriends has George gone through since Angelina and Brad have been together? Like, a half-dozen? Angelina is probably at the point where she just doesn't want to even learn Clooney's latest piece's name. I wonder if Cindy Crawford ever feels the same way? Oooh, Gossip Cop has a denial from Stacy's rep too – interesting. Stacy has a rep? PS… I know I just bitched about Clooney, but there is evidence to suggest that he and Angelina get along just fine – they did a Newsweek roundtable together in 2008, and George was perfectly nice to her – go here to read the old piece.

(OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) In case you missed it, I already wrote one story about Michael Fassbender earlier today. It's always a good (slow) day when I get to write about Fassy twice! So, in addition to his pale, shirtless, Fassdongy hotness on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter, Fassy also appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman last night. I’m including some photos of Fassy from outside of the Ed Sullivan Theater (at the end of the post), and I've included a decent video of the interview below. You know how much I love Fassy in motion, right? But he needed some face powder, and he needs to grow out his hair a little bit. Still, I would nail it to the wall. Just sayin'. Gah. His accent. His shark smile! His tight jeans. His bulge. DAMN IT FASSY I'm trying to work here. I think he did well with Letterman – there's a bit of the naughty schoolboy to Michael, and it seemed like Letterman was trying to really talk about Shame with more seriousness than Fassy wanted to get into. Which isn't to say that Fassy won't really talk about the issues that Shame brings to the table – he will and he has. In another recent interview, Fassy really talked about sexual addiction and what the Brandon character is going through. The piece is Michael's Interview Magazine cover story for the February issue, which is now online. Josh Broling did the interview – they worked together on Jonah Hex, and it seems like they're bros. I'm not going to excerpt the interview – you can read the whole thing here, and I hope that you do. It's a good piece! I will include the photos from Interview Mag, because… um…oh… what was I saying?
OH CRAP. I just saw this – Fassy did a shirtless photo shoot for W Magazine too!!!!!! Jesus, somebody's Oscar campaign is in full swing, right? And by "full swing" I mean "Michael Fassbender has an enormous penis, and he will swing it around to get votes for Best Actor." DEAR GOD the photo where he's just wearing a sheet? It’s been pretty well established that Cameron Diaz has been hooking up with Diddy. Their first go-around was back in 2008 and they worked hard to keep it a secret, although Diddy was dying to brag about it. Cameron and Diddy have been together casually since at least October, which is when we first got wind of their relationship. Kaiser thinks Diddy is gross, and I understand that opinion definitely, but I see the guy’s appeal. He’s a douche of the highest order, but he seems to lavish attention and gifts on his women, when he’s not cheating on them. Diddy has a longterm girlfriend, singer Cassie, and apparently he hasn’t ditched her for Cameron at all. He just took Cassie out on a date earlier this month, and then hit the Golden Globes parties with Cameron less than a week later, where they were all over each other. This isn’t the first time they’ve made out in public.
[From US Weekly, print edition, January 30, 2012] I have no problem with Cameron hooking up with Diddy. My issue is with the fact that he still keeps his 25 year-old longterm girlfriend on the hook. This is exactly what Diddy did to the mother of his twins when he was hooking up with Sienna Miller. Maybe Cameron thinks it’s fun and casual and she doesn’t have to worry about Diddy’s relationship since he doesn’t seem to be. It makes her look so dumb, though. She obviously doesn’t care how she looks, or she wouldn’t be making out with Diddy at industry parties in the first place.

Oh dear God. Just note my resistence to this story at the very beginning. I would much rather be talking about Michael Fassbender or Angelina Jolie (or both, together, with their clothes off). I really feel bad for Khloe Kardashian at this point, and I think the speculation into her paternity has made a turn for the worst with this story. Last week, Star Magazine/Radar ran with the old rumors that Robert Kardashian was not Khloe's biological father. They added a new twist by getting quotes from Robert Kardashian's two other wives, both of whom confirmed conversations they'd had with Robert about how Khloe wasn't his biological kid. For a while now, there's been a big question mark around the issue of "Who is Khloe's biological dad?" if you really believe Kris Jenner was screwing around (which I do tend to believe). Some say Bruce Jenner might be the father. Some say it was just some random dude, like a lawyer or something. And now The Enquirer claims that Khloe's bio dad might be… OJ Simpson. Gah.
[From Entertainwise] I understand Khloe's resistence to discussing this publicly, and I even sort of understand her sisters' "jokes" about it, but here's what I don't get: why doesn't Kris Jenner discuss this issue directly, in a comprehensive interview with someone major, like Barbara Walters? She loves attention, and she thinks she's super-famous too. But whenever she talks about this stuff, the denials are half-assed and cryptic. Which makes me think there's something there. That being said, I really hope OJ isn't Khloe's bio dad. I doubt he is, honestly. OJ always went for blondes, right? Kris was always too dark for him. I would think Bruce Jenner would be a more likely candidate for Khloe's mystery paternity.

| Mark Wahlberg apologizes for his “irresponsible, insensitive” 9/11 comments Posted: 19 Jan 2012 04:35 AM PST
Yesterday, Men's Journal released some quotes from their cover interview with Mark Wahlberg, who is on the February issue. In the course of the interview, Mark was discussing 9/11 (I don't know the exact context), and he said, "If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.'" My reaction was: Mark Wahlberg is a douchebag. How crass. How tasteless. Thankfully, most of you agreed. As it turns out, the 9/11 widows agreed as well, and Mark received a crapload of criticism from many sources. So, within hours of the quotes going public, Mark issued an apology:
[From People] Do you buy Mark's apology? I'm glad he issued it, and I'm glad that he made a statement so quickly. Here's what's still bugging me, though – his apology should have been worded like this: "I deeply and sincerely apologize for my offensive, insensitive, irresponsible comments. I have no excuse, I should not have even engaged in that kind of speculation or conversation." How is that different than "To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive. It was certainly not my intention"? The difference is that he's really only apologizing for "coming off as insensitive." Like it’s on them for being too sensitive? I know, I know, it's just semantics. But he's still bugging me.
