Adam Levine is a douche in Details: “You know what yoga is good for? Fuuuu-k-ing.”

Posted: 31 May 2012 09:08 AM PDT

Adam Levine
Kaiser tried to get me to cover this Adam Levine story in Details because she didn’t want to do it. I tried to beg off and pass, but then I saw the best quotes from Adam’s interview on Evil Beet. He’s just an a*hole, and I feel pretty confident calling him that. To recap Adam: he has a reputation as a womanizer, and in one of the last interviews we covered with him he was bragging about having unprotected sex with his girlfriend, Victoria’s Secret model Anne Vyalitsyna. She subsequently dumped his cheating ass by issuing a press release and not even bothering to give him a heads up about it first, making me assume he’d done something truly awful to her. (Although I just suspect it was garden variety cheating.)

Well Adam pontificates at length to Details about why he’s so successful with women, and how his attitude (douche) has to do with growing up with jilted women or something. He’s compensating for something, and I don’t feel sorry for any woman who falls for his total b.s. Here’s some of what he said, and thanks to Evil Beet for condensing it down for us:

On being misrepresented: "I've always felt a little misrepresented in the world. I felt like people only knew me as a singer who dated pretty girls. A little bit of a bimbo. Maybe I was kind of a bimbo," he adds, laughing. "I was the music dude that was naked all the time with the girls, and that's fine, no problem with that. But I wanted to create a little balance. When the show [The Voice] came around, I thought, 'People now know that I have a brain.'"

On Christina Aguilera: "I always thought Christina was the best pop singer around. She wasn't just a pop star—she could sing her f-cking ass off. We butted heads a little in the beginning. I had sympathy for her being the only girl, though, so I laid off. Blake has a charming way of bickering with her, but I can't pull that off. We're totally cool now."

On yoga: "You know what yoga's good for?" Adam Levine asks, pausing in mid-thought as he discusses his healthful lifestyle. He draws to his feet, balances in the private jet's narrow aisle, points at his crotch, and thrusts his pelvis like a porn star. "I'll tell you what yoga is good for: Fuuuu-k-ing," he chimes, in a singsong falsetto, then laughs.

On understanding women: "One of my theories on why I'm so capable of understanding women is that after my parents split, my mom moved in with her brother's ex-wife—my aunt—who was also newly single," he says. "So I was living in a house with two jilted women, plus my cousin, who's more like my sister, and my brother, Michael, who we eventually find out is gay. Just the estrogen alone . . . You know when you're 14 and terrified to talk to a girl? I didn't suffer much from that. It seemed very natural to me to talk to girls."

On loving women: "There's two kinds of men," Levine posits. "There are men who are f-cking misogynist pigs, and then there are men who just really love women, who think they're the most amazing people in the world. And that's me. Maybe the reason I was promiscuous, and wanted to sleep with a lot of them, is that I love them so much."

On attention: "I love attention. I can't stand not having it. It just has to be the right kind. To do what you love, to be with the people you love? That's all I want. That's the 'kwan.'"

[From Details via Evil Beet]

Whatever, Adam. I just hope that this interview helps warn any model with two brain cells to rub together that she should stay far, far away from this douche. This is some John Mayer pre-voice losing sh*t. This guy is believing his own hype, and he will probably continue to believe it until he also faces some sort of life setback that makes him realize he’s a jerk. Some guys never have that epiphany, and it’s long overdue for Adam.

Also, I agree with the Emily at Evil Beet: that’s nice what he said about Christina. But given how he goes on about what a charmer he is, I don’t buy that he’s sincere at all. Creep.

Photos thanks to Details, where there are more.

Rob Pattinson goes to Paris, reveals new life mantra: “Don’t be a p-ssy.”

Posted: 31 May 2012 08:44 AM PDT

Here are some new photos of Robert Pattinson and director David Cronenberg at the Paris premiere of Cosmopolis. Sparkles looks… subdued. Tired. He probably is tired from Cannes, and lots of press interviews and now he's looking at a few weeks more of promotional work on the film. Maybe he's tired because Cosmopolis hasn't been getting the best reviews? Most critics dislike the film – you can read The Hollywood Reporter's review here. Sparkles isn't getting all or even most of the blame, although I'm sure the criticism does sting.

As for the potential box office… the film is too… complicated for Robert's fan base, and I suspect they'll avoid the film like the plague. Which is sad for him, because I kind of hoped that Sparkles would be the one with the bigger and better career after Twilight. But it's looking more and more like Kristen will have a better career. Of course, that's just how it looks to me now. Given the right role, I think Sparkles could (no joke) SHINE (or sparkle, what have you).

Anyway, Sparkles has a new interview with Shortlist Magazine – you can read the full thing here. Some highlights:

Playing Edward Cullen: "I mean, playing the same part for a while… You just run out of ideas. You feel kind of useless, you don't know what to do any more. I'm not trying to get away from it. You're screwing yourself, you're saying you think your work is sh*t if you try to get away from it. And I never thought it was. I kind of got to the end of my inspiration. You get to the point where you're like, 'I don't want to do a film for a teen audience any more.'"

Cosmopolis: "I think the script was so bizarre, we thought it was quite funny it was even getting made. Literally. It's totally ridiculous. Ninety per cent of it is in a limo and it's about getting a haircut and being worried about your asymmetrical prostate. It feels like an absolute 'F*ck you' to any kind of hope of commercialism." Twi-hards, then, are in for a massive shock. "I'm curious who, if anyone, sees it," says Pattinson. "It's such a weird movie." He laughs. "I guess, because I'm in it."

Playing James Bond? "Yeah, definitely," he says. "But more like 20 years. There'd be nothing worse than, like, 'Let's get a fresh-faced Bond!' That would be the worst idea in the world. After Daniel Craig, you have to have some baggage. It would be ridiculous to reinvent it as some young posh kid. Or, if it was, I'd have to be tortured in the first few scenes. I'd have to do the first film with one arm or something."

His turning point: "I think 26 is the turning point," he says. "I've got to make up for 10 years of living like a degenerate. I've suddenly become conscious of being unhealthy. You've spent every bit of free time since [the age of ] 15 in a pub. And suddenly you're like, 'Oh God, I don't want to be this grey ghost sitting there with a pot belly. I've got to get it together.'"

His new mantra: "Don't be a p-ssy," he states. "Basically, that's the best thing you can ever think. I've had so many occasions in my life where I've acted like a p-ssy and regretted it. Have you seen that Tyson documentary? That bit where he says he'd defeated the guy before he's walked into the ring, it's the same thing. With acting, I was always so scared. But you get to the point where you realise it doesn't matter."

[Via Shortlist]

LOL, I kind of love that his new life mantra is "Don't be a p-ssy." Because I get the feeling he is, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. He's a sweet guy. He's not violent or nasty and he's not a ceaseless self-promoter. He doesn't need to be.

By the way, the MTV Movie Awards are this Sunday. GROAN. Ugh. As you can imagine, Kristen Stewart and Sparkles are up for a bunch of awards, including Best Kiss. And guess what? Sparkles is going to be a no-show! He's not going to make an appearance! OOOH NOOOO. What will the Twihards do?!?!

Angelina Jolie meets with UK Foreign Secretary to discuss sexual violence in war zones

Posted: 31 May 2012 08:01 AM PDT

Earlier this week, Angelina Jolie made a public appearance in London. She's in England to begin work on Maleficent, which should be starting soon. In the meantime, Angelina decided to use her new position as "Special Envoy to the High Commission on Refugees" to do a photo op with the UK's Foreign Secretary William Hague and give a public speech about sexual violence in war zones. You can see photos from her visit to the Foreign Office here, at The Mail. Here are some videos:

This is part of what Angelina said:

“Throughout history, rape and sexual violence have been used as weapons of war, and in modern warfare as, women and girls have become primary targets, the problem has grown tremendously…The wars in Rwanda and Bosnia brought the issue to the world stage, and afterwards the international community took significant steps to end impunity for the worst atrocities and to combat sexual violence in conflict, but although progress has been made, there is so much that needs to be done”

[Via CBS News]

Apparently, this is all part of a new initiative by the Cameron government, working in conjunction with the UN, non-profit charities, human rights campaigns and medical volunteers – the hope is to gather more evidence of human rights crimes to make better legal cases for the trial and conviction of those who use rape and sexual abuse as weapons of warfare. I don't know if Angelina Jolie has been involved with this for a while and she approached William Hague, or if this is an initiative thought up by the Foreign Office and they asked Angelina to be there. My guess is that this is an initiative Angelina has been involved with for a while, and the Cameron government was recently brought on board. Either way it went down… this woman makes me proud to be a Jolie-stan.

Pregnant Anna Paquin at the True Blood premiere: cute or sloppy?

Posted: 31 May 2012 07:34 AM PDT

I’m excited for the new season of “True Blood,” but honestly not as excited as I was last year. I think that things just got so complicated this last season that I don’t even remember a quarter of what happened. Hopefully they’ll do a decent recap ahead of each episode. (As an aside, kudos to “Game of Thrones” producers for making the recaps very clear and obvious so the plot is easier to follow. I was starting to get lost this season and they pulled me back in with easy to follow recaps.)

Spoilers for True Blood’s upcoming season
TB comes back on June 10th, and from advance details we’ve seen from trailers Russell Edgington is back! They should have shown that evil bastard the true death. I guess Erik and Bill join forces, and a new evil Vampire comes in with Christopher Meloni’s character. This should get interesting.

At the premiere last night, pregnant Anna Paquin wore Rachel Comey. I’m not a fan of the asymmetric neckline, which looks sloppy to me. Coupled with the goofy hemline, it just looks like someone cut out random shapes of striped sequin fabric and then sewed them haphazardly to some polka dot mesh. I’m surprised this isn’t Stella McCartney. It’s like someone got drunk and tried to copy Stella’s design. Anna doesn’t look pregnant from the front at all, but from the side you can see she’s showing. I have mixed feelings about Anna, and wish she would look happier on the red carpet.

Stephen’s hair looks way too dark, right?

Janina Gavankar was ridiculous in this puffy very short tin foil ice skater gown. Look at the ruffled layers on this thing. Janina plays shapeshifter Luna, Sam Merlotte’s love interest. I don’t really like her character and now that I see her taking this dress seriously my impression of her is confirmed. Check out her orange platform pumps. Hideous!

Look at Terry! Todd Lowe is really hot to me. He’s such a good actor. I’m looking forward to seeing more of him.

I also find Chris Bauer, Andy Bellefleur, oddly attractive. He plays bumbling so well, but there’s something sexy about the man. Am I alone in this?

In contrast, Joe Manganiello doesn’t do it for me at all. Check out his man scarf hanging out the bottom of his tiny vest thing. He’s superficially hot, but he seems like such a tool.

Sam Trammell is a cutie though, despite that goofy dot shirt. He needs some more scruff to complete the look, and that hairstyle isn’t doing him any favors. He and his girlfriend had twin boys last August.

Deborah Ann Woll is a great actress and seems like sweet person, but I’ve rarely seen her get her red carpet style spot on. She’s so gorgeous too.

Here’s Carrie Preston, Arlene, with her real life husband, Lost actor Michael Emerson. They’re so cute together! I love her on the show.

Nelsan Ellis, that handsome devil. He’s also an incredible actor.

Askars! Can’t wait to hear his sexy voice again.

Kristin Bauer with her squinty husband. Her character Pam is awesome, but she doesn’t look well put together here. It’s the dress in combination with that 70s hair.

And I’ll end with Tara Buck, who plays Ginger, the trashy human who guards Fangtasia during the day. This dress is awesome and hilarious. I just love it.

Kristen Stewart: “Snow White is neither better or worse than anything I’ve done”

Posted: 31 May 2012 07:30 AM PDT

These are new photos of Kristen Stewart arriving in New York City yesterday. She had been in LA, where she did a Q&A with Bad-Pants McGee and she also attended a screening for Snow White & The Huntsman. I'm hoping that we get an actual big premiere tonight, but I can't find out if one is scheduled. I think Charlize is still in New York too, so chances are pretty good that something will go down tonight. As for Kristen's travel outfit – those are the same busted skinny jeans she always wears. I think the kicks are new. And God help me, I LOVE that top. I want that top in all of the colors.

Kristen appeared on the Today Show this morning. Here's the video:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Her dress is cute. But she's just so awkward… which makes me ask, once again, why does her publicist do this to her? She needs to do more print interviews and pre-taped talk show pieces. She can't do it live.

In other Kristen news, she spoke to the Los Angeles Times about whether or not she's trying to distance herself from Bella Swan:

Kristen Stewart says taking on “Snow White” wasn’t a calculated move to change her on-screen image.

“People are going to think that it’s me trying to either distance myself from ‘Twilight’ or try to prove myself beyond it or whatever,” the 22-year-old said Tuesday evening at a screening of the $175-million production. “But it’s [just] good timing. I think it’s all fallen off the truck in a really lucky way. But it’s totally not my doing.”

Asked if she felt “Snow White” marked a new phase in her career, Stewart said it didn’t.

“‘Twilight’ means so much to me, but it doesn’t stand out in terms of — ” she paused, looking for the right words. “Everything I do needs to be really important. ['Snow White'] is neither better or worse than anything I’ve done.”

Her latest film, which also stars Charlize Theron, is the second picture based on the children’s tale to hit theaters this year; “Mirror Mirror,” Relativity’s lighter take on “Snow White,” struggled at the box office after its release in March. But Stewart said she thinks her version of the film will resonate with fans because it’s a “fundamental story” that makes “you care about people.”

“Not to be totally over-sentimental about it, but it’s got a nice message — and a very, very simple one. It just kind of makes you feel good about being human.”

[Via the LAT]

"Everything I do needs to be really important. ['Snow White'] is neither better or worse than anything I’ve done…" Oh God. That does not bode well. I know what she was trying to say, obviously. Asking an actor to rate their own work in levels of importance is like asking a parent to choose their favorite child. I think Kristen was attempting to be gracious about the Twilight franchise and the doors that have opened to her because of it. But really she wants to get far, far away from Bella.

Is Gwen Stefani & Gavin’s marriage in crisis & are they considering a separation?

Posted: 31 May 2012 06:58 AM PDT

Every so often, the tabloids start a round a rumors about the state of Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani's marriage. The last time it happened (to my memory) was back in January – there were several reports indicating that Gavin's past (with a drag queen, with his daughter Daisy Lowe, and with Courtney Love, for example) was coming back to haunt him, and Gwen was not happy. Days after the rumors, Gwen and Gavin seemed to be photographed constantly. This is their M.O. Whenever there's bad gossip about them, they are magically photographed in lots of family-oriented photo ops.

Well, I noticed that we seemed to have a lot of photos of Gwen and Gavin over the holiday weekend, and I wondered what was up. It seems like the British tabloids are beginning a new round, and this week's American tabloids are picking up the rumors this week. The British tabloid Closer has a source claiming: “Things have gone from bad to worse and they don’t know how to fix it. They’ve been through a lot and while Gwen’s putting on a brave face for the sake of the kids, she’s not sure she can save their marriage." Here's more:

Gwen Stefani is reportedly “putting on a brave face” about her marriage in front of her children. The songstress and Gavin Rossdale got together in 1995 and married in 2002. They have sons Kingston and Zuma together.

Their relationship was rocked when a paternity test revealed Gavin had previously fathered Daisy Lowe with ex-girlfriend Pearl. Courtney Love also claimed that she’d had an affair with him. Gwen is said to be doubting her long-time partner.

“Things have gone from bad to worse and they don’t know how to fix it. They’ve been through a lot and while Gwen’s putting on a brave face for the sake of the kids, she’s not sure she can save their marriage,” a source told British magazine Closer.

Gwen has reportedly suggested a temporary break from each other.

“Gwen isn’t sure she can trust Gavin any more. They need time to figure things out, but he’s now on a six-month world tour with Bush until the end of June – although he tries to come back when he can to see the kids,” the insider added.

“Rather than trying to have a long-distance relationship, Gwen suggested a trial separation to see if a break would prompt him to show her how much she means to him.”

[Via The Irish Independent]

Star Magazine picked up the story in this week's issue, claiming that Gwen and Gavin are in a "marriage crisis" and they're still deciding if they'll split. My take? I don't even know. Considering they still care enough to do happy-family paparazzi photo-ops, I'd say they're still committed to their marriage. But I'll buy that they're having problems – everybody has problems. It happens. They fight, they work it out. Hopefully, it's nothing.

Is Kim Kardashian racist against Indians, or is she just a picky eater?

Posted: 31 May 2012 04:35 AM PDT

What's with all of the anti-Indian racism lately? When did Indians become one of the "go-to" victims of racial insensitivity and outright racism? Full disclosure: I'm half-Indian. Some people think I look Indian – but I'm also consistently asked if I'm Mexican, Greek, Italian and oddly enough, German (?). I've been the victim of other people's racism and at times, I'll admit, I can be hypersensitive about racial issues. I don't consider myself an expert on race or racism, so just take this post as what it is – one brown girl's opinion.

On a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim said on camera that she thinks Indian food is "so disgusting". Chaos ensued.

Heads up Kanye West: you better stick with Chinese takeout if you’re ordering in with Kim Kardashian. On Sunday night’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the reality star, 31, told her family she thinks Indian food is “disgusting.”

Her offhanded remark drew criticism throughout the Twittersphere. “I think it’s good Kim Kardashian doesn’t like Indian food, because that means she won’t ever visit India and that in itself is a blessing,” one user wrote.

Said another, “Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner called Indian food ‘so disgusting.’ Seriously? You don’t have to like it, [but] don’t be rude.”

On Tuesday, Kardashian took to her blog to address the backlash in a post titled “Just Want to Clear Something Up.”

“In NO way was [my comment] intended as an insult to the Indian people or their culture. This is just my own personal taste,” she wrote. “There are a lot of foods I don’t like . . . I hate cilantro and peppers, and there are definitely some Armenian foods that I personally find disgusting, but that doesn’t reflect my opinions on other Armenian people or my culture.”

Explained the E! star, “My comment wasn’t intended to offend anybody. We all have our own opinions and tastes and I was simply expressing mine.”

[From Us Weekly]

Sigh… okay…is this really a thing? Kim Kardashian did NOT say "Indian food is disgusting because it's made my Indians, who are disgusting." She really was just stating a personal food preference. And you know what? I grew up around Indian food and some of it really is stomach-churning. My dad used to spend hours making Ghee and the horrible smell of it still haunts me. Of course, my mouth waters when I smell Indian-style garlic chicken. So… my verdict: I really don't think Kim was being racist. She could have stated her preference in a nicer way, sure. But a gut-reaction is a gut-reaction.

Is Zhang Ziyi secretly a hooker charging $1 million per night?

Posted: 31 May 2012 04:20 AM PDT

From what I know of Zhang Ziyi, I like her. She's one of the most famous and talented Chinese actresses in the world – she is a renowned international beauty, and she's one of the biggest gossip targets in China. Back in 2009, Zhang got a lot of bad press because she was A) engaged to an Israeli billionaire and living an international life of luxury and B) caught sunbathing topless, which some claimed was "shameful". Zhang and the Israeli (Vivi Nevo) broke up at some point, and I don't know who or what Zhang is doing at this point. But there's a really scandalous theory floating around! According to reports out of China, Zhang has just been implicated in a HUGE prostitution scandal. Some say Zhang was charging around $1 million per night. OMG.

Zhang Ziyi, star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, has been forced to deny lurid claims that she earned £64million by prostituting herself to a string of powerful Chinese men. Among those with whom the actress was alleged to have had sex for money is disgraced politician Bo Xilai, ousted from China's powerful politburo amid allegations he and his wife were involved in the murder of Old Harrovian businessman Neil Heywood.

Miss Zhang, 33, one of China's biggest film stars and a three-times Bafta nominee, is the most prominent name to date to be dragged into the scandal over Bo. According to reports in China, she slept with Bo at least ten times between 2007 and 2011 in exchange for 'huge' monetary gifts. The secret trysts are alleged to have taken place in Beijing and to have netted the actress around £1million each time.

The pair are said to have been introduced by Xu Ming, a Chinese businessman who is said to be worth £444million but is reportedly under investigation by the Beijing government over alleged corruption.

Mr Xu, 41, has reportedly claimed to authorities that he paid Zhang £600,000 to have sex with him for the first time in 2007 and that he later negotiated a deal for a similar liaison with Bo.

Mr Xu is said to have paid Miss Zhang a total of £18million and it is alleged that the actress – who also starred in Rush Hour 2, House Of Flying Daggers and Memoirs Of A Geisha – made millions more from similar deals with other rich and powerful figures.

Investigators are said to be looking into claims that her supposedly illicit earnings escaped tax thanks to interventions by Mr Xu and senior government officials.

It was reported that the Chinese government has refused to allow Miss Zhang to leave the country while it investigates the claims, prompting claims that this was why she was absent from this year's Cannes film festival to promote her latest film, a new version of Dangerous Liaisons.

The actress cryptically wrote on her internet blog that many people 'can take wind as rain' using their imaginations.

Her Chinese publicist described the claims as 'outrageous', adding: 'It sent stone-cold chills down our spines and has left us with a feeling of deep sadness. Why should this devoted and responsible actress have to suffer this kind of slander and defamation?'

Now living in Hong Kong, Miss Zhang was engaged from 2008 until 2010 to Vivi Nevo, the Israeli-American venture capitalist who was romantically linked to Kate Moss.

[From The Mail]

The number floating around for all of Zhang's sexual performances over the years: 700 million yuan, which is… um… my currency calculator is broken, because there is no way Zhang made THAT MUCH. One of my favorite parts of this (completely alleged!) story? Allegedly, Zhang didn't even have to pay TAXES on her ho money!! Because she was boning all of the rich oligarchs who run China, and they gave her a "tax-free" pass or something.

Anyway, Zhang is denying all of it, of course. Perhaps those Chinese higher-ups who paid for her services can help a sister out? Probably not – they're too busy covering their own asses right about now. Zhang's lawyers are demanding a retraction and apology from the Chinese paper that first asserted the prostitution story. Zhang's publicist also told media outlets, "Friends have advised us to release a short statement and not take this seriously. The more you argue, the more you will stir up. It would be better to step aside until people lose interest and the lies disappear. The innocent will always be innocent.” Girl… if any of the ho story is true, I hope she just takes the money and runs.

Kathie Lee Gifford asks Martin Short how his deceased wife is doing, he rolls with it

Posted: 31 May 2012 04:17 AM PDT

I enjoy Kathie Lee and Hoda’s hour of The Today Show. I don’t even watch it once a week, but when I’ve caught it I’ve found them funny and entertaining. They can be goofy together, and it’s fun to watch. So when I heard that Kathie Lee asked Martin Short how his deceased wife was doing, I actually felt sorry for her. People are saying she should have done her research for the interview, and that’s true, but she must have been mortified afterwards. Kathie asked Martin, whose wife passed from cancer almost two years ago, how long he had been married and said that they must be still in love. Martin said “madly in love,” and was gracious enough not to tell Kathie Lee of her gaffe on the air. He told her during the commercial break, and she apologized afterwards on the air and on Twitter. Here’s more:

Martin Short appeared on the TODAY show Wednesday morning to promote Madagascar 3 and things took a turn for the worse when Kathie Lee Gifford asked Martin how his wife is doing — who died in 2010.

“And you and Nancy have one of the greatest marriages of anybody in show business. How many years now for you guys?” Kathie Lee asked on live television, not realizing the error of her ways.

“We, uhhh, have married 36 years,” Martin graciously responded.

“But you’re still like, in love,” Kathie Lee continued.

“Madly in love, madly in love,” Martin said.

Later realizing the gaffe, Kathie Lee took to her Twitter account after the show with a message to Martin:

“I send my sincerest apologies to @MartinShort and his family. He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I’m so grateful.”

Martin’s wife, Nancy Dolman, passed away on August 21, 2010 from cancer.

[From Radar Online]

TMZ has the full clip with Kathie Lee’s apology. (I didn’t use that one as there’s a commercial ahead of it.) Kathie Lee and Hoda described how Martin broke the news to them, and he sounded just so gracious about it. Kathie Lee said “My apologies to him and his family for not realizing that.”

Martin deserves a lot of credit for just answering the questions and then waiting patiently until the break to tell Kathie Lee she messed up big time. I doubt I would have been able to do that, and would probably have blurted it out at the first question about a deceased loved one.

I think Kathie Lee has been around so long, and knows so many people, that thinks she knows enough about every celebrity to not have to read up on them. Hopefully she won’t make such a big mistake again. It might not be the first time she’s done this. Someone in the comments on Radar mentioned that she asked James Taylor on the Regis & Kathie Lee show in the 90s how his brother was doing, and his brother had been dead a year. I wasn’t able to verify that, but I believe it.

Martin and his wife Nancy Dolman in 2009.

Mila Kunis shows off slight weight gain on NYC film set: she looks good, right?

I've been looking for an excuse to cover the photos coming out of the New York set of Blood Ties, but it only came together for me just now. The tagline for Blood Ties: "Two brothers, on either side of the law, face off over organized crime in Brooklyn during the 1970s." Clive Owen is presumably playing one of the (muttonchopped) brothers, and little Mila Kunis is playing Clive's character's WIFE. You heard me. Mila Kunis, 28, is playing the 1970s wife of Clive Owen, 47. I think I'm so weirded out by this because Mila actually seems much younger than 28, and I don't really see how a man's man like Clive could have any chemistry with this young woman. But… he had chemistry with Natalie Portman in Closer (God, that scene in the strip club – OMG). So maybe it will work out?

But my real hook for this story is one I'm borrowing from The Superficial, who pointed out that in these photos from the Blood Ties set, it looks like Mila Kunis has put on a little weight. Mila is a small girl – she reportedly dropped her weight drastically for Black Swan, and then she's been gradually gaining weight back. Personally, I'm not sure I would have noticed her (slight!) weight gain if The Superficial hadn't pointed it out. Maybe she's wearing padding, though? Because it just seems to be in her midsection. Or maybe she just like beer and hawt dergs. Alternate theory: Mila is gaining weight because she’s gestating an Ashton Kutcher douche-baby. GROSS.

Still… let's be fair. All of the people who would have said "HELL YES" to the "Mila Kunis: Would you hit it?" question will still want to hit it. Same for Muttonchop Clive.
