Beyonce: “Yes I had a baby. It just made me more grounded and more like you” Posted: 27 May 2012 08:25 AM PDT Beyonce began her four-date New Jersey concert series this weekend, her first concerts since giving birth (!) to Blue Ivy in January. We don't have agency photos from the concert, unfortunately, but you can see some photos here and here. I'm including some photos from Beyonce's Tumblr, all of which I think are actually from the concert. Beyonce wore custom-made costumes by Ralph & Russo and the costumes used "500,000 Swarovski Elements crystals." Jay-Z was there of course, and he tweeted, "I’m gonna say this and then I’m gonna end mine. BEYONCE is the best performer in the world. Period." Aw… that's really cute. Michelle Obama took her daughters to the concert, and Beyonce had some stuff to say about losing her pregnancy weight. Cough. New mom Beyonce, who gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy in January, knew there was no time to waste in slimming down as the May dates for her four-concert weekend in Atlantic City, NJ approached. Especially when the star would be squeezing her bod into custom-made Ralph & Russo designs, including a midriff-baring, fringed two-piece adorned with Swarovski crystals. “Y’all have no idea how hard I worked!” the 30-year-old exclaimed to her fans during her concert at Revel Beach’s Ovation Hall Saturday night. “I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!” And now that the superstar is halfway through her much-anticipated, post-baby concert return, she’s celebrating. “Now tonight I’m gonna get chocolate wasted!” Jay-Z’s wife told her fans. Saturday’s show proved to be quite the star-studded event: Michella Obama and her daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, were in attendance. (Back in April, Beyonce wrote a heartfelt, public letter to the First Lady in which she thanked her for being a “true, strong African American woman.”) “They sat up in a private balcony with Gayle King. Michelle was jamming out to ‘Crazy in Love,’” a concertgoer tells Us Weekly. “When Beyonce told the crowd to get up and jump, [Malia and Sasha] stood and started dancing and jumping. They were shouting when Beyonce asked, ‘Do girls run the world?’” “Together, all three of them did the ‘Single Ladies’ dance moves,” the concertgoer adds. [From Us Weekly] I feel like we've heard several different figures for how much weight Beyonce gained during her pregnancy, right? And none of those figures was "60 pounds". In additional to all of that, Beyonce has also given us two videos all about her preparations for these concerts. Beyonce put the videos up on her site (here). They're full of Beyonce goodness, including her statement: "What I’m trying to say in the show is, ‘Yes I had a baby. It just made me more grounded and more like you.'" For real. Reese Witherspoon glows in two Versace looks in Cannes: the best she’s ever looked? Posted: 27 May 2012 08:16 AM PDT Goodness, these might be the prettiest Reese Witherspoon photos ever. She's a photogenic woman under normal circumstances, but the South of France really agrees with her, doesn't it? Plus, she's seven months pregnant and glowing. Anyway, Reese was all over Cannes yesterday as she promoted her new film, Mud, with Matthew McConaughey. Reese wore Versace for both the photo call (a great long-sleeved black minidress) and the premiere (a brilliant blue Atelier Versace gown which was super-sexy). Her makeup looked amazing. Her hair… well, there were some minor hair issues, but it was still pretty good and I loved that she seems to be growing out those thick bangs. When she landed in France, she told Us Weekly, "The flight over was actually pretty good. I feel great. I’m excited about showing the movie. The energy here is great!” Her husband, Jim Toth, came with her, although I see very few photos of him around. He pretty much stands back and lets Reese have the limelight – it feels like a very no-drama marriage. Anyway, I don't really have much to say beyond "Jesus, she looks great!" She really does. Nicole Kidman in bronze, metallic Ralph Lauren in Cannes: gorgeous or rough? Posted: 27 May 2012 07:52 AM PDT As talked about last week, Nicole Kidman's Botox-face was looking pretty marble-like throughout her photo calls and premieres in Cannes. So far, Radar is one of the few sites (that I've seen) who are really calling her out on it. These are some more photos of Nicole in Cannes, at Friday night's premiere of Hemingway & Gellhorn. She posed on the red carpet with her costars, Rodrigo Santoro and a muttonchopped Clive Owen. Once again, Nicole's hair isn't doing her any favors. Nicole's premiere dress was Ralph Lauren. Now… beyond the Botox-face, I have been enjoying Nicole's Cannes looks a great deal. She was going through a super-frilly, lacy phase for a while which I absolutely loathed, so I'm glad to see her putting in some effort to give us lots of different "looks" in Cannes. I'm not crazy about this Ralph Lauren gown, but it's interesting on Nicole. And I think Nicole heard us talking about her bolt-ons, because her nips aren't assaulting everyone at this premiere. Here's the real question – Andie MacDowell: Good genes or good surgeon? Her face looks different, but she's achieved a sort of agelessness without looking Botoxy or "worked on". Demi Moore & Ashton might get back together, Demi is “like a love-sick puppy” Posted: 27 May 2012 07:18 AM PDT After enjoying the sexual favors of several of the hottest 20-something women in the world, Ashton Kutcher might be going back to Demi Moore. Or so Radar and other media outlets would have you believe. Over the past year, Ashton has banged Rihanna, Mila Kunis, some screenwriter, and probably dozens of club girls and randoms. But will he always come back to Demi? Er… I don't think so. I actually think this whole story sounds like Demi's wishful thinking, and that makes me so, so sad. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher split last year following his very public cheating scandal and they've been separated for months but a new report is claiming that the Hollywood superstars may be headed for a shocking reconciliation. They apparently were together this week at a birthday party for the man who officiated their wedding, and their reunion was an emotional one, with the couple "locked in a 60-second embrace," at one point. "They are still desperately in love and could be on for a reconciliation," a source told the Sunday Mirror about Demi and Ashton. "The divorce isn't being processed right now." Demi, 49, and Ashton, 34, were married for six years when he was caught cheating on their wedding anniversary, first reported by RadarOnline.com and Star magazine. But their recent reunion seems to have rekindled their feelings for each other. According to the Sunday Mirror, Ashton gave a speech at Kabbalah Rabbi Yehuda Berg's 40th birthday party and teared up when he said "I've made all these horrendous mistakes in the last year." A guest at the party said "Ashton's voice started to break as he spoke. He just fell into tears. He sat down to a round of applause while Demi just looked frozen." Ashton, 34, reportedly arrived at the party at the Beverly Hills Hotel two hours before his ex and their interactions sparked the reconciliation buzz. "Ashton was there quietly socializing and Demi showed up a couple of hours later looking amazing. She went over to wish Yehuda a happy birthday and Ashton was right by him. Yehuda left them to talk. They started to chat and were extremely affectionate. She was staring at him like a love-sick puppy," a party guest told the Sunday Mirror. They added details about the couple, saying that their actions insinuated that they were on the mend. "They both sat at the front with a mutual friend between them. Demi got up to speak and spoke about family not necessarily being your blood but being people who love you. Then Ashton got up and he spoke about how amazing Yehuda was. He said that if Yehuda is your friend, he'll love you unconditionally, no matter what mistakes you've made, before making the emotional admission that he had made mistakes. It was obvious he was referring to the break-up." Demi announced last year that she was separating from Ashton, and while she recently changed her Twitter name from MrsKutcher to JustDemi, neither party has yet to file for divorce. [From Radar] See? It sounds like Demi is the one who is like a "lovesick puppy" and Ashton is just trying to be nice to his wreck of an estranged wife. And yes, I know that's an awful stereotype and some of you will start yelling at me, etc. But this conforms to the image I have of Demi, a Whip-It-using, plastic, delusional woman. While Ashton is trying to show her tenderness out of fear that she'll have another breakdown, Demi reads his actions as "wanting to get back together." And it's not happening. Michael Fassbender rocks full-on ginger beard in Monaco: hot & gorgeous? Posted: 27 May 2012 06:28 AM PDT There are a surprising amount of stories to cover this three-day holiday weekend, and we'll be getting to them today and tomorrow, of course. But before I begin with the real celebrity gossip, I just had to cover these photos of my boyfriend in the South of France. You Fassbender-stalking loonies didn't tell me that Fassy came to Monaco!!! But he's there (or he was there), and these photos are Fassy's beard-y appearance at the Hugo Boss party. Fassy's X-Men: First Class buddies, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult were there, and now I'm in love with all of them because these photos are just so cute. Before I really GO HARD on Fassy, I would like to say that I'm enjoying that Jennifer and Nicholas do seem like a "real couple". They're making their long-distance relationship work, they travel to see each other, and I buy that Nicholas is really cool with how Jennifer's career has exploded since they first got together on the set of X-Men: First Class. And they're seriously adorable together. I want to think Fassy cosigns this young couple too. As for Fassy… the beautiful red beard. He's ginger and beautiful ALL OVER, and he's proud of it. And the hilarious posing. The shark grin. The suit (which barely contains his thunder). He looks like he's gained some weight too, and it suits him. He also looks like he's getting his drink on – which is fine. I wonder if Nicole Beharie managed to make it to Monaco? I couldn't find any photos of her.
