Rapper Flo Rida was spotted lunching with his cute lady friend at Sushi Siam restaurant in Miami yesterday. Looks like he's more than moved on from his ex Eva Marcille. Check the twosome's pics inside...
The couple held hands and cuddled after lunch and seemed pretty into each other. The "Goin' In" rapper had his friends in tow for the lunch date too. On July 6, the rapper will perform for The TODAY Show concert series.

While Justin Combs spent the weekend celebrating his high school graduation with dad Diddy, mama Misa and plenty of friends & family, folks were up in arms about his UCLA full football scholarship. Why? Because some argue he should have turned it down since his father is extremely wealthy, so he doesn't "need" it.

Instead of everyone offering praises for the new Bruins baller, Justin Combs has received some criticism as some folks seem to think his annual $54,000 MERIT-BASED scholarship award is taking away money from other students who actually need it. UCLA responded yesterday saying:
And Justin, who graduated with a 3.7 GPA from a top private school and won several football awards and made the prestigious All Star/All American team this year, tweeted last night:
He received co-signs from his extremely supportive mom Misa Hylton, of course.
And we have to agree. There is a huge difference between need-based scholarships and merit-based scholarships. What kind of society would we be when we begin to tell any student or child you do not deserve to EARN merit simply because of what your parents have? Shouldn't we congratulate all students and kids who work extremely hard in sports, the classroom, etc? Meanwhile, Justin didn't seem to let the critics get him down as he celebrated his graduation with his fam this weekend:

This week, reports surfaced of R&B star Mary J. Blige's charitable organization FFAWN (Foundation For The Advancement Of Women Now, Inc.) coming under fire for not repaying a $250,000 bank loan, as well as lawsuits against Mary and partner, mogul Steve Stoute (pictured above). Mary has since been accused of allowing her charity to fall apart, ultimately hurting the benefactors.
Now, Steve Stoute reveals to TheYBF.com the full story, the true culprit, and says all scholarships for FFAWN's young girls are still in place. The NY Post reported earlier this week that Mary J. Blige's & Steve Stoute's FFAWN organization, which raises money to send several girls to college, as well as to fund her Yonkers Center for Women, was slapped with two lawsuits. One for failing to pay the musicians' bands from a 2011 FFAWN Gala, and a second for failing to repay a TD Bank loan for $250,000 by December 2011. TD Bank reported that the loan was acquired in June of 2011. And only $368.33 was repaid. Mary responded on Angie Martinez's radio show earlier this week saying, "It happens that FFAWN has been mismanaged and when I found out about all these issues and things that are going on concerning FFAWN, I immediately got on the phone with my lawyers and advisers and tried to rectify this and fix this so that none of those women would suffer that are going to college." She continued about restructuring the company saying: "My goal is to do exactly what I set out to do and my motives were true and upfront. I set out to empower and encourage and help women because I got a second chance myself. I wanted to give them a second chance…. So right now as we speak I've hired a team of people that are making sure that my businesses are taken care of as far as FFAWN is concerned, we are not closing down, we are restructuring and we put a great team of people in place and I'm just proud to say that the grants, the scholarships that we set out to take care of will be taken care of. The Mary J. Blige Center for Women in Yonkers, everyone is in good standing." Like many celebrity charities, a staff is hired to run their organization properly on a day-to-day basis. Steve Stoute tells us the mismanagement is due to incompetence from a former staffer.
Steve reaffirmed to TheYBF.com Mary's sentiments with more detail, saying each of the several young women who were promised college scholarships are still IN college and new recipients are still going. He says their money is covered, despite mismanagement of the $250,000 loan in question. (Editor has removed other names of those involved for legality)
Mr. Stoute alleges that the Executive took out the loan in order to cover the expenses of an "over-produced" gala. Especially since, as Steve said, the gala did not raise the amount of funds expected. According to Steve, not only did the Executive leave the organization soon after the gala without notifying anyone about the loan, he & Mary were also unaware of who needed to be paid. In response to the lawsuit filed by performers and their bands who claim they were not paid for their gala services, Steve tells us:
Steve also claims that the former executive used the FFAWN charity to further their own agenda in chairing other high profile celebrity charities, as well as leveraging connections into another high profile position in the music industry. And left as soon as things went awry. An Executive provided legal reasons as to why the charity offices needed to be moved from the Translation offices--Steve's company--into an Executive's own home, which, Steve explained, is why the bank and process servers were unable to reach a representative from the Foundation once the Executive left the charity. Mr. Stoute maintains that there is no "missing money"--in response to allegations that partial sales of Mary's My Life fragrance, intended for the Foundation, are nowhere to be found:
He does take full responsibility for not filing a 2010 tax return, saying, "We knew we didn't file and planned to file late, which is not out of the ordinary for any business. We did put in for an extension." But Steve confirmed that all scholarship money, as well as Mary's Center for Women, are both in good standing despite these lawsuits. Lil' Kim stopped by Chicago's Power 92 radio station recently where she dished on her upcoming book and hinted at a possible tour with Missy and Eve. During a recent Chicago's Power 92 interview where she made her “Return of the Queen” tour stop, Lil' Kim dished on a larger scale tour and her upcoming book. Kimmie said she is finishing up her tell-all about her stay in prison, which will focus on her life and the women she met inside. She also talked about her upcoming music saying, “The next single is called "Look Like Money" and it’s produced by Rockwilder. By the time we hit L.A. [June 8], it should be just dropping.” She then hinted at a tour featuring other female emcees saying, "We got something really special planned and it's with me, Missy, and Eve.” That would be hot. She also dissed the Notorious movie--again--calling it inaccurate. She stated: “Let’s just be real about it. [Biggie's] wife, his mom, and all them people who was running that movie, aside from Puff, were not around this man the way we were around this man. We were around this man every five minutes, every day. I think our story would be a little more real.”

While promoting her upcoming That's My Boy flick (June 15) on MTV News recently, Ciara announced to fans that her fifth album will be called One Woman Army. She also revealed that the lead single from the disc is called “Sweat." She said, “I’m finishing up my album. It’s called One Woman Army and you guys will be in for a treat very soon. My new single ‘Sweat’ will be coming as well. … It’s gonna make you sweat in all kinds of ways.” Watch the announcement here: Well good for her.

We may not agree with her decision to return to the foolery that is "Basketball Wives," but there's no denying her fabness. Businesswoman and reality star Jennifer Williams recently rocked a pretty photoshoot for her lip gloss company Lucid Cosmetics. Allen Iverson and Tawanna Iverson are STILL FIGHTING. And now Allen wants Tawanna thrown in jail for ransacking his house. These two. Deets inside....
Despite "getting it in" a while back, Allen and Tawanna Iverson are still very much UNHAPPILY married and are still heading towards divorce. But now, Allen wants Tawanna thrown in jail. He says she ransacked his house while he was out of the country playing basketball in Asia (this according to new legal docs). Allen recently filed a motion in Georgia, according to TMZ, for contempt saying that when he returned home, his place was totally gutted! DAMN! According to the docs, he says she got away with furniture, art, memorabilia and cash and now she won't return them! He wants a judge to hold Tawanna in contempt for harassing him and leave her in jail until he gets his stuff. We'll keep you posted........ |
