"Last Dance" singer Donna Summer--who gained prominence in the 70's disco era--died this morning after battling cancer. The 5 time Grammy Award winning Boston native was known for helping ushering in the disco era and offering up a different sound for the times. Born LaDonna Adrian Gaines, the legendary singer reportedly died today in Florida according to TMZ. She was married to singer Bruce Sudano with 2 kids (model/actress Brooklyn Sudano and singer Amanda Sudano-Ramirez) and was a grandmother to four. Other hits she's known for: "Hot Stuff," "Love To Love You Baby," and "She Works Hard For The Money." R.I.P. Mrs. Summer.

After dishing about her new book Oh, Baby!, her 11-month-old son Cree and his first words and cuteness, Tia reaffirmed her reasoning for leaving her show "The Game." She maintains it was a mutual decision between her and the network, and she wants to focus on her other current projects. It was definitely a mutual decision. It was time for me to move on to other things like writing this book, and I just finished doing a movie on ABC Family, and then I'm working on the show with my sister, "Tia & Tamera", which premieres June 11th." Still sounds shady. Especially given how sudden it was, and not to mention Doug Banks radio personality DeDe McGuire's tweet the other day that said Tia told her she was fired: Wow!!! For all those that watch "The Game" on BET Tia Mowry just told me she was informed an hour ago that she was FIRED from the show! Hmmm.... Lil' Kim stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning where she dished on the how the Nicki Minaj beef got kicked off and the venom with which she spoke showed she's STILL very angry. She said Nicki is overrated, catty, did a lot of dirt behind the scenes and they'll NEVER make amends. Deets inside....
Lil' Kim stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning where she dished on the career and the MANY trials and tribulations she's experienced as an artist. She revealed that she is still upset that Junior Mafia left her hanging during her trial with the feds and they are not cool. She also talked about her legal warfare with Trackmasters which kept her out of the recording studio for years and her beef with Nicki Minaj. She revealed that she was VERY close to Baby and Slim of Cash Money and they were forming a few businesses together. She feels that they introduced her to Nicki Minaj just so the hip hop community would think she had endorsed Nicki and given her approval. She says things went left after a track they recorded together got shelved along with all the promises of a video and a big marketing push. After that, she said Nicki got VERY catty when they were around each other and then that's when she started dissing her in records. Here are the highlights:
On making up with Junior Mafia: "Why would I become cool with somebody who has no loyalty, no love and no consistency." On Scott Storch: He has so many bad people around him. But he's a nice person. On beefing with Nicki: "Every single record she's made was coming at me. She was coming at me in the Puffy record and in the Jay and Kayne record. On why she & Nicki can't work together: "She wanted to be the only female out there. So when Baby said we not f*ckin' with this chick cause you can't stand next to her, she loved it! She didn't want to stand next to me." Lil' Kim added that in the music industry men pit women against each other and Kim said, "You have to be smart enough to say yo, I don't know what they talking about but you my b*tch. On what she thinks Nicki should have done differently: "Don't come at me indirectly in records.....don't do that. At the end of the day, she should have just said 'I don't care, you my b*tch, I want to do other stuff with you'." On Nicki as an artist: "I'm not saying she's a horrible artist, but she's overrated." On homage: Kim said she NEVER felt like Nicki paid homage to her. "When somebody says I love you BUT I hate you.....that's not homage." On if she and Nicki will ever make amends: "It will never happen." On where the Nicki beef goes from here: "You will see....everything done in the dark comes to the light." On Azealia Banks dissing her on Twitter: "Listen, I think its in chicks' contracts that when you come out you gotta go at Lil' Kim." She added she doesn't know who she is and they have never spoken.

So it's no surprise the down tot earth mom Halle Berry was spotted at a CVS in West Hollywood yesterday grabbing some necessities with her too cute 4-year-old Nahla:

50 Cent has been tweeting pics of himself in the hospital this evening--and he's not only upset about having to apparently get surgery, but also about the stuffed animals DJ Drama sent over.

Folks around the net doubted the realness of these hospital beds when Curtis first tweeted them, especially since he made sure to throw in promo for his new mixtape saying: “I’m in the hospital but my gangsta grillz LOST TAPE is done so it will be out on time...Do not do a @djdrama gangsta grillz this is all I get. Ain’t this a b*tch. I give 15 tracks you give me this.” But apparently, his hospital stint is very real:

While poppa Will Smith is busy promoting MIB3 in London today, the Smith ladies have rolled into the south of France, causing quite a stir amongst the ritzy vacationers. While walking down the main boulevard in Cannes today, Jada Pinkett Smith and daughter Willow Smith were spotted taking in the great weather and sights. The Cannes Film Festival kicks off this week, and runs till May 27th, as Jada is there to premiere her new movie Madagascar 3.

After a long battle with a list of health issues, the Godfather of Go-Go music, Chuck Brown, died today at age 75. Details on the sad news inside... Chuck Brown is synonymous with Washington D.C.'s Go-Go sound as he's credited as being the creator of the original music using the beat. The repetitive funky percussion vibe can still be heard in current music like Ameriie's "1 Thing," Beyonce's "Crazy In Love," and more. As the heart and soul of the D.C. music scene, North Carolina native and D.C. raised Chuck has been blowing up the charts since the 70's and his song "Bustin' Loose." And in recent years has performed less frequently but ALWAYS blew up any concert where he made an appearance. Mr. Brown died today at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, according to his manager, of complications from pneumonia & sepsis. Sad day for music. R.I.P. Chuck.

Tyra Banks is taking on the fashion industry and condemning their use of anorexic & too thin models. After her open letter thanking VOGUE magazine for taking the leap into banning those unhealthy models from their magazine, she hit up the morning show circuit to give her supermodel take on it.

Tyra explained that after her own experience of being told she was "too fat" at a size 4 when she was a teen, she and her mom figured out a way to make her curves work for her. She's spoken out in an open letter at The Daily Beast saying, she praises VOGUE for taking a stance, and also calls for more to create a guild to protect models, as well as moms and society to create a world for young girls to flourish as they are.
