Linda Evangelista & Pinault testify about income, gifts & Salma Hayek’s pregnancy

Friday's story about Linda Evangelista's child support case was a doozy, and it's just going to get more intense with more testimony coming on Monday and Tuesday. From what I've read, it seems like the whole "Billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault asked Linda Evangelista to get an abortion" thing happened on the first day of court. On the second day of the court case, Pinault and Evangelista both gave testimony about who said what and when. Pinault even spoke about (his now-wife) Salma Hayek's pregnancy with Valentina, and how they thought for months that (still-in-utero) Valentina may have Down's Syndrome. Oh, and Pinault's lawyers claim that they had approached Linda with offers of child support, and SHE was the one who gave them the silent treatment, which is a direct contradiction of Linda's earlier claims (and the reason for the this whole child support case). Here's more:

Her first job ever — picking cherries at age 12, on a farm in Ontario — got her $10 a day. Her first modeling job — for a hometown newspaper ad — paid just $8 an hour. Supermodel Linda Evangelista took the witness stand yesterday in her contentious court battle with billionaire French baby daddy Francois-Henri Pinault, describing her cash-strapped beginnings as a prelude to the big- money child-support pitch she'll make Monday.

"Fifty cents a basket," Evangelista said when asked what the pay was for that first job 35 years ago. This from a woman who once declared that supermodels don't get out of bed for less than $10,000.

Evangelista continues to command $100,000 for the occasional runway appearance, the still-glamorous catwalker testified. She also spends more than $46,000 per month, she says, on Augustin, her 5-year-old son by Pinault, the CEO of the Paris-based luxury conglomerate that owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.

Pinault would meet, impregnate and marry actress Salma Hayek within a year of fathering "Augie" — and has been less than a model dad, Evangelista's lawyer has contended. The model and the mogul had been together only seven days when Evangelista announced her pregnancy. Pinault suggested she abort the baby, she says — though Pinault denies that. He promptly dumped her, not conceding paternity until it was confirmed by a DNA test a full year after Augie's birth.

"My wife was pregnant," Pinault explained of his decision to put baby Augie on a shelf that first year. "For five months, we were told the baby [had] Down syndrome," he said of Valentina, his daughter by Hayek. "I [asked] Linda to postpone my recognition [of Augie] until after the birth of Valentina. It was very complicated situation. My wife almost lost the baby."

Pinault — who is worth some $3 billion and makes up to $5 million a year — paid not a single euro until last year, when a Manhattan magistrate set a temporary support amount, according to testimony. His lawyers are accusing the supermodel of cherry-picking facts.

Pinault testified yesterday that his lawyers repeatedly broached the topic of support with Evangelista's lawyers — and were met with silence. He spent $260,000 on "gifts" in 2010, Pinault told Support Magistrate Paul Ryneski matter of factly under questioning by Evangelista lawyer William Beslow. Pinault admitted that most of that money was for gifts for himself.

"I have a watch collection," he said. "It's for when I buy a watch for me."

Did he recall buying any gifts at all for Augie in 2010, he was asked.

"I bought him a present for his birthday and for Christmas," he answered.

Augie turned 4 in October of that year. What was the birthday present? Beslow asked.

"I don't remember," Pinault said.

And what was the Christmas gift?

"It was . . . FAO Schwarz," he fumbled. "I bought it online. It was a piano thing."

I said on Friday that I wasn't really crazy about Linda or Francois-Henri. They both seemed kind of awful to me, but at this point, I'm definitely leaning more towards Linda. Sure, I still think the $46,000-a-month figure is kind of crazy, but as far as Linda's side of the story… yeah, I think she's the one telling the truth, or a more truthful version of what went down. Pinault made it seem like he acknowledged paternity of Augie very quickly when it's clear he was shining Linda on, dragging it out for a long time until Linda forced the issue. I think Pinault fell in love with Salma and simply didn't want to have to deal with all of the issues with Linda and Augie – and thus, he ended up treating Linda and Augie like crap. I also think Pinault's lawyers are probably full of it as far as the "we offered her support years ago" thing – that version simply doesn't make sense.

As for Pinault and his "gifts" to himself… yeah. That looks really bad, especially when he can't remember what he gave his son!

Poor Princess Charlene. I know some of you don't feel sorry for this poor woman, but every time I read about her or see new photos of her, I just feel a wave of sympathy. We haven't heard much from Charlene recently, except for the epic haircut that failed to take the world by storm. Incidentally, I still like the haircut. I think it suits her a great deal, and her hair looks much healthier like this. Anyway, there are some new reports about Poor Charlene. And none of it is good news. According to The Mail and the French publication Voici, Charlene is "depressed" because she's still unable to get pregnant. Sources claim that Charlene and Albert's "pregnancy pact" is real – meaning that she's basically a broodmare, only fit to provide a legitimate heir, and once she does that, she will be allowed out of the marriage. The "pact" was widely reported last year, around their wedding – incidentally around the time that Charlene allegedly tried to pull a runner THREE TIMES only to have her passport confiscated in one of the most medieval twists in modern royalty. The gist of the new report is that thus far, she's having issues getting knocked up. Probably because she feels like vomiting whenever she has to be within five feet of Albert and they have been living separately this whole time?

Prince Albert of Monaco's new wife Charlene Wittstock has become 'depressed' at her failure to provide her husband with a legitimate heir, it was claimed today. Princess Charlene is said to have struck a 'deal' with the principality's playboy ruler to bear him a child after she tried to flee before their wedding last summer. But the 33-year-old South African is now unable to get pregnant, France's Voici magazine reported.

Albert already has already fathered two love-children, but neither can succeed him as they were both born out of wedlock. Voici magazine said: ‘Charlene has made the subject of pregnancy a taboo topic around the Royal palace. She might have a smile on her face at official functions, but inside she is stressed and frustrated. This subject is weighing more and more heavily on her shoulders.’

Rumours of a rift and a 'pregnancy pact' erupted even before the couple married in a lavish state wedding ten months ago. Charlene was said to have bolted for Nice airport two days before they married after hearing Albert had had a third love-child during their relationship. Monaco officials were said to have coaxed her back by brokering a deal between the Prince and his reluctant bride that she provide him with a legitimate heir. After that she would be free to leave of her own free will, it was reported last July.

One source said at the time: ‘Charlene will provide an heir, then if things don't go well, she will receive a generous divorce settlement once she's served a decent amount of time.’

Albert, 54, has one seven-year-old son Alexandre with Togolese air hostess Nicole Coste. He has another daughter Jazmin, 20, born after a brief affair with American estate agent Tamara Rotola.

Charlene last year called suggestions that she was reluctant to marry ‘hilarious’ on the Today show.

‘Why would we go to all this effort, to have this fantastic couple of days, and have our most intimate and dearest friends come and join us, for us to be reluctant,’ she said.

Her husband suggested the rumours might have been triggered by jealousy from people who ‘did not like the fact that we were finally together and married.’

He was apparently told on the day of his wedding that he would have to take a paternity test to determine whether he was the father of the third illegitimate child. Charlene, who was accused of trying to run away three times before she married, claimed the rumours were purely generated to sell magazines. But she spoke earlier this year about her 'loneliness' in Monaco, and added: ‘I only have two people I consider friends here.’

The spokesman told France's high society Point de Vue magazine last year: ‘Charlene has beauty and style, and we are all praying that she will ensure the royal succession in our principality. Albert has never settled down in the past, but knows that the time is now right to produce the next ruler of Monaco.’

The Daily Beast had additional excerpts from this Voici article, plus some exclusive dirty, plus some old gossip that's kind of interesting – you can read the full piece here. A court insider told The Daily Beast, "People are embarrassed by [Charlene]. There was a hope that she could introduce some glamour, but now most people just feel she is tacky." Another insider says that society people in Monaco have "taken to pre-emptively apologizing for Charlene." That's so rough! Also, sources say Charlene doesn't have any friends in Monaco, and she still hates her husband.

I'm including some recent photos of Charlene doing some solo events in Monaco – I think she looks like she's really trying to make this "public figure/First Lady" thing happen. She seems very down-to-earth at public events. She reminds me of Princess Diana a great deal.

Brandi Glanville accuses Eddie & LeAnn of leaking false report, Brandi gets promoted

I'm sorry I didn't get to this story earlier, but I did want to see how everything was playing out with Bravo and Brandi Glanville and everything. Last week, Radar had a suspicious report about Brandi's potential "promotion" on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. There had been reports that Brandi would be made a full cast member, a full-time "Real Housewife". And then "sources" told Radar that Bravo wanted Brandi and Eddie Cibrian's sons to appear on the show, and Eddie and LeAnn had put their feet (hooves) down. I talked about it in this post – including my take on the hypocrisy of LeAnn and Eddie, who call the paparazzi regularly for "candid" photo-ops of themselves with Mason and Jake. Anyway, Brandi had a fit on Twitter regarding the Radar story, and a Bravo source ended up going to E! to talk about the situation:

Don’t worry, catfight lovers, Brandi Glanville’s not going anywhere. As we anxiously wait for another season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills—and mourn the departure of Camille Grammer—we learn that at least one feisty blonde will remain on the reality series, despite rumors that she was dropped.

Contrary to reports she was being sacked because her kids can’t appear on the show, Glanville’s always-entertaining presence on Real Housewives isn’t being cut down.

“She’s a full-time Housewife,” a RHOBH source tells E! News. “Bravo is fully supportive of Brandi and understands that Eddie [Cibrian] won’t let her kids be shot for the show. It has zero impact on her involvement with the show.”

Brandi also confirms that these rumors are false by tweeting, “Dear @radar_online u have no idea what ur talking about ur story is ALL wrong! As usual.”

“Funny no one really knew or knows my work status and after on talk woith my ex husband its splattered all over the internet #leakmuch?” she wrote.

To be fair to original Radar report (which seems to have been leaked by Camp NEIGH!), they didn't say Brandi was fired from RHOBH, they only said she wasn't getting promoted to the full-time cast. A source also confirmed Brandi's full-time casting to RumorFix, and the source (totally Brandi) says: "Eddie is going to fight Brandi about having them in the background on the show… They are constantly doing photo ops and interviews that include the kids and Brandi does nothing. She is going to fight back but Bravo isn't involved, it's all good with them. Eddie and LeAnn are always doing staged photo ops and interviews – Brandi just wants to see the kids when she has them."

It's also totally worth it to check out Brandi's Twitter – go here to see it. She was on a tear after that Radar report ("well someone is still being a dick but its not Bravo") and she's been tweeting about going to family therapy with LeAnn, Eddie and the boys.

Brandi was also at the Kentucky Derby! I'm not sure how I feel about animal print at the Derby. Keep it floral, ladies!

Taylor Swift Bolt-on Watch: Swifty steps out looking somewhat deflated?

Is it gross that I kind of enjoy talking about Taylor Swift's breasts? I'm not approaching the subject in a leering, predatory way. My interest is objective and analytic. The seemingly wide variations in size interest me as an amateur scientist. Perhaps PBS's NOVA program can be called in to provide some additional, completely scientific theories.

The background: a few weeks ago, I somehow missed the fact that several gossip outlets were discussing whether or not Swifty got herself some bolt-ons, a story completely based on new photos of Swifty walking around, looking particularly busty. We talked about it last week – I really didn't have a solid theory on Swifty's rack, but I did think it was pretty obvious that *something* had happened. Maybe she just found some really great push-up bras, maybe she got bolt-ons, or maybe she's just growing them naturally. The "natural growth" theory might have legs, by the way. I noticed several commenters said they had gone up in bra size in their early 20s too – so did I! I was 21 years old when I became a DD. Anyhoodle, I'm including some new photos of Swifty on May 4 – the pics where she's wearing red jeans and a blue-and-white striped shirt. Let's do the timeline of Swifty's rack.

My take – I think her boobs ARE bigger, but not as big as the April 23rd photos would indicate. Maybe she was wearing a really great push-up bra that day, I don't know. I think she was barely an A-cup on April 1st, and now she's a B-cup. Did it happen naturally? Did she get "enhanced"? Or is it still just a good bra?

Kim Kardashian in full-skirted white for LA gala: unflattering or actually pretty?

These are some newish photos of Kim Kardashian two nights ago at the "Night of Generosity Gala" in LA. Don't ask because I don't know. What I do know? Kim Kardashian needs to stop with skirts cut like this. This is one of my biggest annoyances about "makeover" shows – many of the stylists don't bother dressing girls for their respective shapes. A full skirt like this is fine a narrow-hipped, small-bottomed girl. On a girl built like Kim, it ADDS weight. Kim has a tiny waist and shapely legs – this outfit screws with her proportions, makes her legs look short, makes her look thick-waisted, and it makes her ass look HUGE. Add to this to the styling issues: those janky extensions combined with her electrolysis-adjusted hairline makes me think that she's wearing a wig. Rough.

In other Kim K. news, her lawyer is still beefing with Kris Humphries:

Kim Kardashian’s divorce attorney has called a foul on her estranged husband, New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries.

According to the Associated Press, Laura Wasser, representing Kardashian in the divorce proceedings, told a Los Angeles judge Friday she believes Humphries’ “personal feelings and maybe some media drive is keeping the case alive,” and added that the couple is now, by law, eligible for a divorce “since it has been more than six months since Kardashian filed her petition.” (The reality star, 31, filed her papers on October 31.)

“Certainly, they’ve been separated longer than they’ve been married,” Wasser added, emphasizing that Humphries is needlessly delaying the case. (Humphries’ attorneys counter that they require more time to gather information, in order to weigh the viability of pursuing an annulment, the route the NBA star hopes to take.)

Though both of their legal representation was present in the courtroom Friday, neither Kardashian or Humphries attended.

Sources close to Kim back up her attorney’s claim that Humphries is indeed the one holding up the case for him and his soon-to-be ex, now dating Kanye West.

“He’s doing anything he can to get her attention,” an insider revealed to Us Weekly. “She would grant a divorce in a second. But he won’t sign the papers. He won’t let go.”

Adds a second source close to the E! star, “He’s doing this to humiliate her, plain and simple. Kris wants to hurt her.”

I know some of you are on Team Humphries, but I'm not one of you. While I do think Kim is massive famewhore and idiot, Kris Humphries in an unmitigated tool. He's been dragging this out for so long, people have stopped caring too.

I'm including some photos that Kim posted on her Twitter & Celebuzz pages two nights ago because she was "bored". I do not like that busted wig on her. But she comes close to pulling off the boots. The closeup of that crazy shoe – those are the shoes that she "broke in" at the Night of Generosity Gala.

Amanda Bynes was involved in a hit-and-run in LA, but she wasn’t charged

Just before Easter, Amanda Bynes seemed to feel like she had to put herself out there as the new child-star-turned-train wreck, the new Lindsay Lohan. Bynes was arrested (and held) on a DUI charge after she (drunkenly) plowed into a cop car. After her arrest, Amanda continued partying – and I mean that literally. Like, as soon as she was out of jail, she went to The Standard and they refused her entry. She was also spotted outside of the Marmont a week later, where she was presumably behind the wheel again after partaking in some beverages – and she was also texting and driving, and she hit a curb too. There were other incidents too – enough that everyone feels this girl is just a mess. But still, it's California, and the legal system is a joke, so Amanda is still drinking and driving and thus, she probably got into a cracked-out hit-and-run on Friday:

The bad news: Amanda Bynes was involved in another hit and run in Hollywood [on Friday]. The good news: She didn’t hit a cop car this time.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … a man was driving last night near the intersection of Crescent Heights and Melrose Blvd. when he claims he was sideswiped by a Range Rover that was trying to pass him on the right. According to our sources, when the SUV didn’t stop, the guy called police and reported the hit and run.

But the guy didn’t let it go there. According to our sources, he began to follow the SUV himself (which wasn’t difficult because there was traffic). We’re told cops responded to the scene and even dispatched a police helicopter to track the SUV, unsure of how severe the accident was.

When cops finally caught up to the Range Rover, we’re told the driver was none other than Bynes … who told police she had no idea she had struck another vehicle. Our sources say the damage to Bynes’ SUV was so minimal, it is possible she didn’t feel the accident.

Law enforcement sources tell us Amanda was very cooperative with police and cops had her exchange information with the other driver. We’re told she was not given a citation and cops will not be investigating the incident further. Bynes was arrested for DUI last month after she clipped a cop car.

First of all, this girl needs to stop trying to "pass" cars while she's loaded. That's what happened when she hit the cop car! She was trying to pass the cop (always a horrible idea, by the way). As for the whole "I didn't know I hit someone" argument – for real? AND THE COPS BOUGHT IT? So of course she wasn't cited or anything. Ridiculous. I bet she doesn't even have to pay the city for the excess of police presence her little hit-and-run ended up costing – People Magazine notes that in addition to an LAPD helicopter, "a total of six police cars arrived on the scene and made contact with Bynes."

The police spokesman also notes, "It turned out the damage to the pick-up truck was so minor that it was very plausible she had no idea that she hit anyone. Because of that, we decided not to charge her with hit and run, took a traffic report instead and sent her on her way. There were no arrests made and no one was injured.” They didn't Breathalyzer her either.

As for her original crime, the DUI, Radar says that the DA will charge Amanda with "failure to take a chemical test". A police source tells Radar: “Amanda Bynes refused to take a breathalyzer test, or blood test, which is required under California law when someone is arrested for a DUI. Bynes will be officially charged with refusal to take a chemical test in connection with being arrested on suspicion of DUI, and this should happen in the next one-two weeks. Amanda’s first court date will be in Beverly Hills at the beginning of June. She won’t be required to be there because it’s only a misdemeanor.” In convicted, Amanda could lose her license for a year and face a 48-hour jail sentence. Basically, a dumbass slap on the wrists.
