Instead of going into any further thoughts that I have about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's engagement, I just wanted to tell you my mother's take. She's not a Brangeloonie – she likes Brad and Angelina okay, but she thinks they have "issues." I gave her the low-down on the ring and all of the gossip about the engagement, and her thoughts were: 1) Brad better have given her a huge rock, because she's already had his babies and the rock should have grown in proportion with each kid; 2) They won't have any more biological kids because Angelina's body can't take any more, but they'll adopt again after they marry; 3) They'll definitely get married overseas, probably in France or "…like, Thailand or something…" my mother said vaguely. I love how everyone has an opinion, a theory, an angle – and I don't think my mom is far off the mark. So in lieu of actual news about Brad and Angelina's wedding plans, we get all of the stuff that's left in the gossip vacuum. Every site is running "Brangelina through the years" pieces, like everyone hasn't analyzed every piece of their relationship to death already. And of course, people want to know how Jennifer Aniston is reacting to the news, "Seven Years After Brad!" (That will be the People Magazine cover, just you watch!) To Aniston's credit, she has not issued any public statements, nor has she stepped out for a convenient photo op with Justin this weekend. So Hollywood Life just had to make up a story about her:
[From Hollywood Life] I do think Aniston is in a pretty good place right now, and she's probably the happiest she's been in years now that she's all loved-up with Justin Theroux. Justin came to play. Justin joined CAA. Justin is all about having a famous girlfriend who pays for everything. And Justin is fine with being Shane Warne'd like Jennifer's personal Ken doll. So… God bless. I hope both couples are fine. One last thing – GLAAD issued a statement about Brad and Angelina's engagement too. Brad famously said in 2006 that he and Angelina wouldn't marry until everyone could. Now people are all "OMG, Hypocrisy!" Well, GLAAD's spokesperson Rich Ferraro says, "We congratulate them on their engagement, and thank them for continuing to speak out about the inequality that so many gay and lesbian couples face today. No loving and committed couple should be denied the happiness, joy and legal protections that come with marriage.”

Here are some new photos of Halle Berry at the Jenesse Silver Rose gala last night in Beverly Hills. Halle has been a long-time supporter of the Jenesse Center, which provides support, housing, employment and medical care to victims of domestic violence. Halle began working with the center more than a decade ago, as part of her community service (for that hit-and-run in 1997), but after her community service ended, she stuck with the program and is currently one of their biggest advocates/champions/fundraisers. She's usually the hostess or the big headliner at their annual gala too – it's one of her rare red carpet appearances over the past few years. Last night, Halle wore this Dolce & Gabbana dress which is… okay. It looks good on her, and Halle's body is still INSANE. But I kind of think that a charity gala might need a more conservative look? But that's probably just me. Halle's fiancé, Olivier Martinez, was also at the event, but she made him walk separately.
[From The Mail] At this point, I can barely keep up with all of the stuff that Halle has thrown at Gabriel Aubry. The last I heard, California's child services had exhaustively investigated all of Halle's claims that Gabriel was an unfit father, and the state of California basically found that Gabriel was not abusive in any way, and that he had every right to have joint custody of his daughter. Shortly after that, Halle decided that she just HAD to move to France. You know what the biggest surprise is? That Olivier Martinez has stuck through it all. I joke about Halle keeping him chained up in her basement, but really, I think Olivier just has a real high tolerance for drama. Plus, he's probably a little bit afraid of what Halle will accuse him of if he ever tries to dump her. She's wearing her emerald engagement ring too…

Paul McCartney held a private party on Friday night to celebrate the premiere of his newest music video, "My Valentine". This party was one of the biggest celebrity events in LA since the Oscars. Which is weird, right? I mean, I'm all for showing Paul McCartney some love, but it was just a party for a music video – why so many A-listers? McCartney came to the event with his wife Nancy, and the newleyweds looked totally adorable. I think they're a very good match, don't you? I had my doubts about them at first, but now I really like them together. Onto the guests… let me just say, this was not an overwhelmingly well-dressed group of people. You know why? Because most of the ladies were wearing Stella McCartney. Yeah… she sucks. Hard. First up, Kristen Stewart in a Stella McCartney skirt and blazer. The whole outfit looks like a school uniform, she needs to brush her hair, and I LOATHE those shoes with this outfit. I know K-Stew is all about "comfort" with her shoes, and while I respect that (because I share the sentiment) and I don't care that she's not wearing heels… I still don't see how these sockless shoes are comfortable. They look ugly, and they look like they're pinching her feet. One nice thing: I like her makeup.
Zooey Deschanel in Stella. This dress is awful, and it looks terrible on Zooey.
Ginnifer Goodwin and her new boyfriend Josh Dallas. I'm still not crazy about this haircut on her, especially with this style. It feels like a whole look that Michelle Williams would wear and has worn.
Reese Witherspoon, pregnant in Stella. One of the least offensive dresses, in my opinion. Reese is getting big!
Gwyneth Paltrow! This marks the second event in a month where Gwyneth and Kristen Stewart appeared together. Are they new BFFs? Will a future Goop newsletter feature something about eye-rolling and lip-biting? Gwyneth's outfit doesn't bother me too much. I hate the boots, especially paired with the cropped skinny jeans, but Goop comes close to pulling it off.
And finally, Rumer Willis in that same Stella dress that every single Hollywood woman has worn. DEAR GOD WHY?!?! It's a hideous dress. And it was over the second LeAnn Rimes wore it, if not before. Rumor should have rethought this junk.

This weekend, the Toyota Pro-Celebrity (Grand Prix?) race is being held in Long Beach. The big “gets” of the event? Not Adrien Brody (poor d-bag). It was LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian! Eddie was part of the charity racing event, and LeAnn got to sing the National Anthem. Incidentally, that Kate Del Castillo woman was there too – some of you seem to think that Eddie might have a crush on Kate, or that they are even having an affair or something. I don't know – I just thought I would mention that she was at the event too. I'm honestly finding it difficult to hate on Eddie here. It was for charity, and he likes fast cars (and loose women). His participation was just… there. Meh. But I do love how LeAnn made it all about HER!! And look at what she's wearing – will someone tell her that no one finds her bony chest plate sexy?
[From The Mail] LeAnn obsessively tweeted about the whole thing yesterday, and I'm expecting more today, so if you're into that kind of thing, just keep your eye on LeAnn's Twitter. Also: she seems to have sung the National Anthem with her sunglasses on…? I don't care if the sun is in your eyes, take off your sunglasses for the National Anthem.

| Pippa Middleton took her Uptradey game to Paris: will she get with a French boy? Posted: 15 Apr 2012 05:41 AM PDT
Ever since Pippa Middleton's lawyer yelled at the British tabloids towards the end of last year, there has been a significant dearth of new Pippa photos. She is no longer getting pap'd on a regular basis, as she walks to and from work. She is no longer being written about on a daily basis. She is no longer eclipsing her sister with media coverage. Was that the point? That no one out-shines the Duchess of Cambridge, not even the Duchess's little sister? Or did Pippa really "hate" the attention so much? She never seemed to mind the attention, honestly. The attention might have been one of the factors in her split with Alex Loudon (that, and her lack of "old money"), but the attention also opened up a lot of doors for Pippa as far as "potential suitors" go. Speaking of, during William and Kate's most recent vacation to France, Pippa was also there… with George Percy, the future Duke of Northumberland. I tend to think that Pippa has pretty much landed Percy – they were all over each other during New Year's at the Middletons, and Pippa's long, exhaustive plan to win him back has worked out. I think that George will be the one that she eventually marries. He's titled, he's rich, and she'll get to be a duchess, just like her sister. This is Uptradey's ultimate goal. But our Uptradey plays a good game, and she's not in the mood to marry right now. So Pippa went to Paris, and while there, she's been hanging out with lots of eligible men – those are the dudes in these photos. Don't ask me to ID these guys – they look alike to me.
Will Pippa end up with a Frenchman? No. She won't. She'll end up with George Percy, mark my words! She's already planned it out, and what Pippa lacks in patience (Kate got all of the patience), Pippa makes up for in aggression, game and flirtation. So what's the point of the Paris trip? Maybe George pissed her off. Maybe Pippa is letting him know that she has a Plan B. Or maybe Pippa is simply having fun.
