It's Official! Lindsay Lohan SIGNED For Elizabeth Taylor Biopic!

It's happened! She's actually done it!

After months of speculation, Lindsay Lohan has been officially signed by Lifetime to play Elizabeth Taylor in their upcoming biopic Liz & Dick, which will chronicle the late icon's turbulent romance with Richard Burton!

She says in a statement:

"I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role."

Wow! Guess her war with the Standard Hotel couldn't stand in her way this time!

But in all seriousness, this could be a very big opportunity for her to prove to the industry that she's serious about getting her life and career back together!

We really hope that she can!

You've got this, gurl! Don't eff it up!

Los Angeles, CA (April 23, 2012) – Lindsay Lohan is set to star as the legendary Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime Original Movie Liz & Dick, based on the true story of the screen icon's historic romance with actor Richard Burton. Principal photography on the movie will begin in early June in Los Angeles, it was announced today by Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President, Programming, of Lifetime Networks.

For nearly a quarter of a century, Taylor and Burton were Hollywood royalty and their fiery romance — often called "the marriage of the century" — was the most notorious, publicized and celebrated love affair of its day. Swarmed by paparazzi, Taylor and Burton's love affair was played out entirely in front of the global press from the time they met on the set of the major motion picture Cleopatra, left their respective spouses, married and divorced, only to remarry and divorce once again. Despite their roller coaster romance for the public eye to see, Taylor and Burton shared an undeniable love greater than most people could have ever dreamed.

Regarding the announcement, Lohan said, "I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role."

"We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor," added Sharenow. "She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon."

Liz & Dick will be produced by Larry A. Thompson Productions, Inc. Larry A. Thompson (Amish Grace, Lucy & Desi) will serve as executive producer, with Christopher Monger (Temple Grandin) writing.

Jennifer Hudson Takes The Stand On First Day Of Family's Murder Trial

The long road to true justice has finally begun for Jennifer Hudson.

As reported earlier, J Hud's family killer will stand trial this week. Willam Balfour is being charged with murdering Jennifer's mother, her brother Jason Hudson and her seven year old nephew Julian King. This morning, the singer-actress got things started early by testifying on the first day of court.

While we knew she was testifying, having Jennifer take the stand as the first witness was an aggressive move by the prosecutors, to say the least!

Jennifer appeared to be crying as she recounted her relationship with her mother, stating how she talked with her mom, Darnell Donerson, every day.

She also testified that she and her family warned her sis, Julia, about how dangerous William was, explaining:

I told her over and over again to not marry him. We did not like how he treated her.

So sad ... and equally as brave of Jennifer to get up on that stand and defend the memory of all those she lose.

Thankfully, this will be the beginning of the end of Jennifer's ordeal. We know nothing can replace a fallen brother, mother and nephew, but all signs point to this man paying for the crimes he committed. She can hopefully take comfort in that.

Chace Crawford Strikes Up A Love Connection Down Under!

Looks like Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford has been bit by the love bug!

Reportedly, Chace recently became smitten with Australia's Next Top Model contestant Alyce Crawford (no relation!), who has been linked to Leonardo DiCaprio in the past!

The two were introduced while Chace was in Australia this past weekend by their mutual friend Noah Tepperberg and quickly became infatuated with each other!

A source spills:

"They were with a group of about 10 people but clearly had eyes only for each other. Chace barely spoke to anyone else all night. He looked pretty into [Alyce.]"

Guess they share more in common than just their last name!

The two couldn't keep their hands off each other all night when they hit up a club after dinner -- and didn't give a SHIZ who was watching!

At least if they ever decide to tie the knot, Alyce won't have to worry about dropping her maiden name! Ha!

Looks like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart DID cuddle up at Coachella this past weekend, after all!

We were getting a little worried after seeing the solo shots of KStew this morning, looking a bit lonely riding solo without her man!

But there she is, wrapped in her lover's cold and sparkling arms!

They look super into the music festival, taking in the sounds of Beirut in their matching baseball caps!!!

We hope they had fun before they have to get back to work!! The both have a long summer of promotion ahead of them!

The couple who recently called it quits seem to be playing the 'friends with benefits' card - one benefit being a sunlit meal on the crustily romantic Venice Beach.

A long distance relationship may be too stressful for 'Manda to deal with, but that doesn't mean she can't call up Joshy's bum for some booty-shakin' action!

Did the duo dine on some afternoon delight before the meal??

Noah Wyle ARRESTED At D.C. Medicaid Protest!

We bet his former co-star George Clooney has a few words of encouragement for him!

Noah Wyle, who starred with the actor on ER, was also arrested today during a political protest against Congress cutting Medicaid in Washington D.C.!

The actor was with 100 other members of the group ADAPT, a group attempting to protect the elderly and those with disabilities from being forced into nursing homes, instead of being able to afford home care!

Wow! Good for him!

Such a worthy cause!

According to his 'unofficial' biography, Simon has been dating Brazilian socialite Ana Paula Junqueira since extending a romantic invitation to her in January. The source reveals:

"Fuelled by champagne he invited a group of Brazilian girls on to Slipstream. By 5am he was intimately embraced with Ana Paula, a well-known international socialite.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Are BACK!
