NFL Baller Brandon Marshall OPENS UP About His Borderline Personality Disorder

NFL baller Brandon Marshall is opening up about his borderline personality disorder. And he's hoping to shed light on an issue that is often shunned in many communities. Get the deets inside....

 

Hoping to pull back the curtain, Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Marshall, who suffers from a personality disorder, is speaking out about his condition.  Though he has an extensive list of run ins with law enforcement like those domestic disputes with his wife Michi, those around him, like Pro Bowl receiver Larry Fitzgerald tells the Chicago Sun Times in a recent interview:

‘‘I have only had positive experiences with Brandon.  He is misunderstood. Once you get to know him, he will give you the shirt off his back. ‘‘My thing is this: Get to know him, the man, before you pass judgment.’’

Now Brandon is revealing what's gotten him into so many altercations over the years....borderline personality disorder.  He says, 

‘‘A lot of people are afraid to talk about it — it’s taboo in our communities.  But I’m willing to use myself, make myself and my family vulnerable, to break the stigmas.’’

And in an interesting footnote, Brandon added that a large number of prison inmates, both male and female, have been diagnosed with the disorder.

"Since I’ve been in the league, things have been very rough for me.  From Day 1, I’ve always wanted better for myself, on and off the field. To finally get an answer — to finally be in a place where someone can help me — that was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. But it was scary because someone is telling you, ‘Hey, you have to go through this therapy. You have to stay up here and talk to me.’ But the outcome was amazing.’’

Now Brandon looks at his disorder with a different light.  He says his anger was,  ‘‘my gift and my curse, because without that passion, without that intense approach to the game, which comes from a lot of my pain, a lot of my anger, I wouldn’t be here today.’’

Although Brandon now has his diagnosis under control, some others aren't so lucky.  

‘‘This thing is bigger than me. We’re losing lives.  When I was in treatment, there was a young lady who took her life. ‘It’s one of the most devastating disorders out there, but it’s the most treatable, and with the proper help and the proper treatment, we can make a huge impact in our community.’’

Brandon has now focused on using his fame as a way to help those who are lost.

‘‘There’s a lot of people who are pushing to get healing in our community.  I’m just the guy with the fame, so it brings light to it quicker, and it spreads faster. So that’s why I was excited to use my celebrity and platform to raise awareness.’’  

Wow.  Glad he's using his experiences to do good for others.

"I watched Steve Harvey work so hard, from getting up at 4 AM for the radio show, then he'd come to the set & we'd do the rehearsals and the shooting, and then him and Cedric would pop out after taping & would fly out and do the Kings of Comedy. I was like WOW! It just made me feel like mayBE I wasn't working hard enough..."

"Bringing The Game back was really humbling, but at the same time it was an added pressure. It's like whoa, with the fans, we can't BE bringing no BS, we gotta bring it & bring it tight each and every week. So it really elevated the playing field & THE GAME literally that the actor brought to the show BEcause that don't happen! I don't know of another show that that has really happened to by viewers choice gets cancelled & picked back up and have a greater life than it did BEfore."

Nicki Minaj was spotted in Brooklyn yesterday shooting an ad for Adidas Fall/Winter 2012 campaign. See the extra colorful pics of the Queens native inside...

As if she couldn't get any brighter, Nicki Minaj burst out her best Rainbow Brite winter coat (designed by Jeremy Scott) to work an ad for Adidas.



When is she going to land an ad for Skittles?

She worked on the shoot with designer Jeremy Scott.  There's just so much going on here I'm not sure where to look first.

Jeremy tweeted, IF U LOOK IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE RIGHT SIDE PHOTO U CAN C ME YELLING "WERK" AS NICKI GIVES IT TO THEM !!!

Jeremy also cleared up speculation that this shoot was for Mephisto footwear saying, 

@JMONEYCHERRY MEPHISTO ? THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT WE FILMED - WE R BOTH WEARING CLOTHES N FOOTWEAR FROM MY FALL ADIDAS LINE ! XXX

Chris Brown & Girlfriend Karrueche Head DOWN UNDER To Australia

Chris Brown just landed in Australia recently, and he brought his girlfriend Karrueche Tran along for the umpteen hour trip to the southern continent.

Breezy was spotted in his blue hoodie and casual shorts making an arrival into Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport yesterday (and later hopping a plane to Brisbane), the same day his ex Rihanna was spotted at the Australian airport jetting off the continent:

Chris tweeted before take off that he and his friends were getting drunk before the flight.  And he had his sneaker wearing yellow manicured boo Kae in tow:

Beyonce Knowles updated her new website today with a personal letter to First Lady Michelle Obama that she decided to share with her BeyHive.

Beyonce has established a special relationship with our FLOTUS since she sang "At Last" at one of the President's Inaugural balls 3 and a half years ago.

Since then, Beyonce & Mrs. O have teamed up for the First Lady's "Let's Move" campaign, Beyonce & her family donated a stack of cash during FLOTUS' recent NYC Presidential fundraiser for her husband, and both ladies have expressed a mutual respect for each other.

So Beyonce penned a letter revealing her appreciation for the First Lady...and even thanked her for being a role model to her own daughter, Blue Ivy.  She wrote:

"Love & Hip Hop" Star Yandy Smith Finally Confirms Pregnancy...And Shows Off Her Baby Bump

The worst kept secret of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop" series is now out.  Season 2 newcomer and Jim Jones' now ex manager, Yandy Smith, just showed the world her baby bump and confirmed she is indeed with child. 

 

Yandy was put on baby bump watch over a month ago.  And despite her sub-tweet denials, she's revealing it all now....

When Yandy started to show a more rounded belly over a month ago, it sent folks into overdrive saying she was pregnant.  And the rumors are indeed true.

Tonight, the feisty "I'm about my checks" reality star & manager posted the above cute pic on Instagram (in the same Givenchy dress LaLa & Fergie rocked recently) saying,

“You wanted to know now you know!!!! #POW”

She didn't confirm who the father is, but we do know she has a long time boyfriend who she has lived with for years.  *We know our readers soooo well--now stop those whispers that we already know you're saying about her and Jimmy needing a paternity test*

Yandy's bestie, co-star & client, Kimbella Vanderhee, is also expecting.  And the two have been hosting club parties for months..and likely will be doing so until they go into labor.  Well isn't that cute.  Two best friends pregnant at the same time.  Good luck and congrats. 

Yandy will also appear on BETs "106 & Park" tomorrow (Thursday) with the cast of Life Love Soul as she is an associate producer.

Early this morning, Brandy and Monica appeared on "Live With Kelly!"  And were spotted offering up their fabulous selves to their fans outside of ABC Studios afterwards:

She showed tons of love to her fans as she made her way to her car as she pubbed her Two-Eleven album.  Looking hot B!

She showed some fans love as she was seen leaving the studio.  These chicks are looking amazing lately.

As Rihanna was spotted arriving at her bestie Melissa's birthday dinner last night in Sydney (and showing much leg in a sexy long trench), she was surprised with a painting by a fan.

BREAKING: George Zimmerman CHARGED With 2nd Degree Murder In The Death Of Trayvon Martin

Shortly after being taken into police custody today, special prosecutor Angela Corey charged George Zimmerman (shown above in his mugshot) with second-degree murder in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.  Get the deets inside....

During a press conference held in Jacksonville, FL moments ago, Angela Corey, the special prosecutor appointed to the Trayvon Martin case announced that George Zimmerman will be charged with second-degree murder.

George Zimmerman, who turned himself in earlier today, is in police custody in an undisclosed location for his own safety.

Ms. Corey says the decision to charge Mr. Zimmerman was arrived at last week after reviewing all of the factual and physical evidence.

Although Mr. Zimmerman is currently being held without bond, a judge will soon determine if this decision will be reversed.

SPOTTED: Ciara HIDES Her MAKEUP FREE Face From The Paparazzi

Ciara ran out of the house to walk her dogs and WAS NOT happy to see the paparazzi.  See Ciara dodging the paps with no makeup inside....

Ciara (rocking a hoodie and pink sweatpants) went to take her dogs for a walk yesterday in Santa Monica....and she was not expecting to run into a waiting photographer. The fab chick didn't look too happy to be snapped makeup free.  But we all know if anybody can pull off the fresh face, it's her.

Can only imagine the convo she's having on that phone.  Hey CiCi!

Ciara's busy working at her upcoming album with L.A. Reid behind the project.  She said about the new LP:

"It's just really about the vibe.  It's really important for me to take my time with this record. It's really really good energy."

No release date has been set for the yet-to-be-titled alum.

BREAKING: George Zimmerman TO BE CHARGED In Trayvon Martin Shooting

It's been announced that George Zimmerman will be charged in the Trayvon Martin shooting.  Deets inside.....

 

In Florida today, special prosecutor Angela Corey announced plans to charge George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.  For now, it was not immediately clear what charge(s) George will face until it's announced at the press conference later this afternoon.  But.....George is still MIA so this should be interesting.

And many people around the country have been weighing in on the situation.  Recently Bill Cosby said, 

“Without a gun, I don’t see Mr. Zimmerman approaching Trayvon by himself.  The power-of-the-gun mentality had him unafraid to confront someone. Even police call for backup in similar situations.”

“We’ve got to get the gun out of the hands of people who are supposed to be on neighborhood watch,” he said. “When you carry a gun, you mean to harm somebody, kill somebody.”

 

And earlier today, Trayvon's parents spoke at a National Action Network press conference where they vowed that their son's death would not be in vain.

COUPLEDOM: Forest & Keisha Whitaker OUT For a LUNCH Date

The Oscar winning director/actor put on his celeb hat and snapped flicks with fans outside of Trader Joe's.

Next up for Forest is the film The Butler, a drama written by Lee Daniels about Eugene Allen, which is about an African American who worked as a butler in the White House for over 34 years and served 8 presidents from 1952 to 1986.
