Beyonce and Jay-Z release first photos of Blue Ivy Carter Posted: 10 Feb 2012 06:17 PM PST
It’s nice to see a celebrity couple releasing baby photos online instead of opting for a magazine spread. My first impression is that this baby is very sweet and looks a lot like her dad. I don’t see much Beyonce in her and I’ll leave it at that. Only time will tell and some babies look significantly different within a few short months. Beyonce just made her first post-baby appearance at an event at Carnegie hall where Jay-Z performed. Her nails were painted blue in honor of Blue Ivy. Beyonce looked incredible for a woman who had just had a baby a month prior. She reportedly achieved such fast weight loss through two two-hour workouts each day and a strict diet of “six tiny high protein meals a day.” Congratulations to Beyonce and Jay-Z on their new arrival! They look elated and that baby is precious. |
“Diane Kruger can pull off some of the most bizarre styles” links Posted: 10 Feb 2012 10:38 AM PST I like Diane Kruger's red carpet look at the Berlin Film Festival, but I hated her photo call look (that fug striped thing). Still, she's gorge and she can pull off anything. [Go Fug Yourself] |
Angelina Jolie is in Berlin, taking the kids to Legoland & going to Holocaust memorials Posted: 10 Feb 2012 09:55 AM PST Did you know Angelina Jolie and the kids are in Berlin now? True story. They flew in (via private jet) a few days ago. Angelina is preparing to push In the Land of Blood and Honey at the Berlin Film Festival. The red carpet is tomorrow – I'm sure we'll have photos on Sunday. For now, though, just enjoy this story about Brangelina's activities in Berlin – Legoland! Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe! Wait, what? I had to ask CB if that was seriously the name of the memorial – she confirmed it. I mean, it is what it is, and that's what happened – Jews were murdered. But maybe a gentler sounding name? Like, even “Holocaust Memorial” would sound better.
[From People Magazine] I didn't know that Angelina was a supporter of Merlin's Magic Wand. That's pretty cool – you can read all about the charity here, at their website. It's cool that Angelina is so supportive of Lego land – she took the kids to the UK version too. Oh, I just got that no one has seen Brad in Berlin. It’s just Angelina? Did Brad not join her for this trip? Is he too busy kissing Academy ass? I hope Tilda Swinton flies into Berlin so she and Angelina can get bombed together again. |
The Bates family, Duggar BFFs, welcome their 19th child with a realiy show Posted: 10 Feb 2012 09:48 AM PST
[From People] This People article doesn’t mention that the baby is in the ICU. The Bates’ website says that he was 7lb 8oz at birth and that he’s in the ICU, but his issues sound minor and hopefully he’ll be ok. “Due to an excessive amount of amniotic fluid and a very quick descent through the birth canal, he ingested a lot of fluid which caused him to have difficulty transitioning and allotted for an unexpected trip to the ICU nursery. He is doing wonderful and should be heading to his new home soon!” Like the Duggars, the Bates family also supports Rick Santorum for President and has been campaigning for him. Kaiser and I were talking about this, and we agree that this is a choice that people make, and that we should respect that choice even if it’s one that we find strange and wouldn’t make for ourselves. (We’re talking about the decision to have so many children, not the decision to put your kids on TV.) At least for these two semi-famous families, the Bates and The Duggars, it seems to be working out for them. Some mothers who have escaped these type of extreme childbirth situations say it’s very oppressive, that they have to care for large numbers of children while living in abject poverty, and that it’s particularly hard on the children in these families who have to care for their siblings from an early age. From outside appearances all the children in these two families are happy, but there are 38 kids here. One of them is bound to talk trash someday. |
