| The River Debuts To Weak Ratings! Posted: 08 Feb 2012 01:10 PM PST Well, it's a good thing that Steven Spielberg also has Smash! The famous director is serving as exeutive producer on the new musical series, as well the midseason replacement ABC horror show The River, but apparently, the ratings for the latter's two-hour series premiere last night were less than stellar! The series managed to garner around 8.2 million viewers and a 2.5 demo rating during the 9pm spot, but by the second part at 10pm, it was down to 6.8 and a 2.2! Who knows, though? Maybe it just needs a few weeks to get word of mouth going and attract more of an audience! That, or it will sink without a trace! What do U think?? Did U like The River?? |

The actress co-hosted Runway to Win, a clothing launch where proceeds of the line went towards the POTUS's re-election campaign. Ranging from totes to clutches to t-shirts, Runway to Win had celebs flocking to NYC a week before Fashion Week. ScarJo took the time to endorse Obama and listed the following examples of the POTUS's good work:

The lawyers of the man who allegedly murdered Jennifer Hudson's family want to meet with Jenny before the trial. Apparently they want to ask her about a supposed text message she may have exchanged with her mother right before the murders. Can't they just go through her lawyers?? Why do they have to bother her before the trial?? She's probably already bothered enough with this as it is!! Poor Jenny... we hope she's coping the best she can through all this craziness!! | You Want More Ricky Martin on GLEE? Done! Posted: 08 Feb 2012 12:30 PM PST Dreams really do come true! We may or may not be still swooning after watching Ricky Martin shake his bon-bon on Glee last night as the uber seksi tooth model turned Spanish teacher David Martinez. If you read our recap, you know that the door is wiiiiiide open for Ricky to come back whenever he likes and we're hearing he loved his experience with the kids so much, he's likely to be back sooner than we could've hoped for! Right now, we're hearing that the offer on the table is to invite Ricky back for an episode to air in the spring. Since he is headed to New York to start production in Evita, that might be difficult, but adding to the joy is the extended offer to come back next season as a recurring character or - wait for it - A SERIES REGULAR! And our heart just gave out! Ricky Martin, every Tuesday at 8??? Who could ask for anything more!!!! |

Today, Oscar producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer announced that Angelina Jolie will be a presenter at this year's Academy Awards ceremony! She may not be getting any Oscar love for her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey, but we're still glad that she'll be a presence at the show. See ya on February 26th, Angie! P.S. | Natalie Portman Locks In First Two Post-Oscar Roles! Posted: 08 Feb 2012 12:20 PM PST Natalie Portman has just locked in her first two movie roles after her oscar-winning part in Black Swan! What did she nab? She nabbed TWO back to back Terrance Malick flicks! If you don't know who he his, he just did the Tree of Life with Brad Pitt... which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and is nominated for Best Picture and Best Director Oscars. The new flicks are Knight Of The Cups, and Lawless, and she's joining an ever-growing cast. Not much is known about the stories yet, but we're sure we'll hear a lot more about them once the bidding for them is over. With all the buzz from Tree and the addition of Natalie, we get the feeling they'll sell fast! Congrats, Natalie! Can't wait to see them! [Image via WENN.] |

On Monday nights Watch What Happens After Show, Ryan Murphy was Andy Cohen's guest (along with the fabulous Sarah Michelle Gellar) and had no problems dishing about what is to come on all his hit shows. When it came time to talk about Glee, Ryan was mum to speak of what would be happening to the kids who are graduating, but did allude to another possible tribute episode in the future. Ryan told Andy:
She did??? When in the world is Madge going to fit that in?! Sure, with the Super Bowl over and done with she might have 30 more seconds of free time, but she still has the new album coming out AND a world tour to prepare for! We don't know. Sounds like a slim chance to us. Wait, what the hell are we saying?! We WANT this! Hell, we NEED this! This would be equally as epic as having Britney Spears on! | Liz Taylor's Van Gogh Sells For $16 Million!!!! Posted: 08 Feb 2012 11:40 AM PST And we thought her Frans Hal sold for a lot... We've just learned that Elizabeth Taylor's unsigned Vincent Van Gogh piece Vue de l'Asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Rémy has sold for $16 million to a mystery buyer at Christie's! OMFG!!! Liz purchased the painting back in 1963, and according to Christie's International in London, she kept the painting hanging above her mantle all her life. Other artworks which belonged to Liz that sold yesterday include Camille Pissarro's Pommiers à Éragny, which went for $4.6 million, and Edgar Degas' Autoportait, which sold for $1.1 million. 35 more pieces from Liz will go up for auction today. Good luck, wealthy art lovers!!!! |
