DMX Talks RAP BEEF With Jay-Z, Says He's Not Feelin' Drake Or Rick Ross Either

Posted: 23 Feb 2012 08:59 AM PST

Promoting his upcoming album Undisputed (March 27), DMX stopped by The Breakfast Club where he talked about Jay-Z being jealous of his talent, why he never recorded an album with Ja Rule and what rappers he likes and doesn't like.  Listen to it inside....

During his interview with TBC, it became apparent that DMX is actually pretty funny.  He's surprisingly quick witted and had a joke for everything.

But when the subject of beefs came up, he became extra serious.  He said he thinks Def Jam stopped focusing on him as an artist AFTER Jay-Z took the reigns.  He pretty much said Jay was jealous of his talent and wanted to take out the competition.

He said the album with Ja Rule never happened because of their egos.

And he jokingly said he doesn't like Rick Ross lyrically....and added that he talks about food entirely too much.

He then dissed Drake saying, "I don't like anything about Drake.  I don't like his voice.  I don't like anything he talks about.  I don't like his face....."

Damn.  Everybody's hating Drizzy these days.  Also, X told a funny story about the time he impersonated a cop.

Meagan Good REFLECTS On Her Friendship With Whitney Houston And Hints That Biopic May Still Happen

Posted: 23 Feb 2012 06:54 AM PST

Before her death, Whitney Houston was considering turning her life into a movie with Meagan Good in the lead role.  See what Meagan had to say about Whitney's sassy spirit and if the film will still happen  inside ....

Meagan Good recently revealed to E! Online that she and Whitney previously discussed a possible movie for Meagan to star in....based on Whitney. Meagan recently talked about the flick and what she remembers about Whitney.

"We were fairly in the beginning stages," Meagan said at the Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture's Vanities party at Siren Studios in Hollywood this week. She said a big concern was how the movie would end.

"My feeling is because she has the film Sparkle coming out and she's brilliant in it and she looks beautiful and healthy, my feeling was that's how we should end the movie—as a new beginning for her."

If the movie does get made, don't expect Meagan to do any singing.

"I don't think we've ever had a singer in history that I remember that could sing like her.  Plus, when people see someone's life story they want to hear that person's voice because they connect with it, in their spirit and their soul. So you would have to use her voice."

While discussing Whitney (in the present tense) Meagan began to get emotional saying,

"For anybody spending time around Whitney, she's so much fun.  She's got just like a sassy attitude and is very funny and funky. She's definitely a fun person to be around."

Pop-N-B chick Ciara made her way to Barneys yesterday for some new threads and shoes and everything else.  And she wasn't shy about showing off the results of her workout plan--her sexy legs.

Still loving this ombre brown-blonde hair on her as well.  CiCi recently informed her fans via Tiwtter that her grandfather whom she's really close with, Mister Eddie Lee Head, lost his battle to cancer:

Today I lost my Favorite Grandpa to cancer.. As it is a very sad time. I have the strength to find happiness because I know he would he would have wanted me to be strong. I’m so happy that as I grew older, I grew closer and spent more time with him … I would like to encourage you to spend the time with the ones you love as much as you can. Tell the people you love, you love them…you love them, as much as you can. Always end a call, a gathering, and experience with someone on a positive note if you can…U never know what tomorrow may bring. The last thing me and my grandpa said to each other was I LOVE YOU. I feel good knowing that…RIP Eddie Lee Head, I love you soooo much, and you will forever be in my heart. You were THE BEST GRANDPA EVER!

"Birthday Cake Remix" Producer The Dream DISHES On Rihanna & Chris Brown, Says Rihanna Has FORGIVEN Breezy

Posted: 22 Feb 2012 04:09 PM PST

The Dream is speaking out about his friend Rihanna saying it was her idea to add Chris Brown to the "Birthday Cake (Remix)". He added that if she has forgiven him, so should everyone else. Get the deets inside....

The Dream has spoken out to Billboard about Rihanna's controversial "Birthday Cake Remix" saying,

"For me, it's just music -- two talented people doing a record together, doing two records together, and that's what it was. It wasn't about an incident that happened. The true thing really is to forgive, and… you want to believe in people."

He added,

"It was Rih's idea.  Not only do we work together, but [Rihanna] is a friend of mine. And it's like, 'You wanna do something? Then cool, let's do it.' I don't know how she got the logistics and how it happened -- maybe she'll talk about it one day. I showed up at the studio, and it was like, 'All right, cool, let's finish this record,' which we probably should have finished the first time we did it."

All in all, he ended by saying, "Because this is about her, if she can forgive, that's where she is mentally. As a friend, it's like, 'Okay, cool. Let's roll.'"

So it seems like many folks are moving on from the Chris Brown incident from a few years ago.  On forgiving Chris, he said,

"I think [the topic] that should be more on the tongues is: how do we proclaim to be a nation of forgiving, and we go by all of these rules and everything, but we can't actually do it? It actually makes you look weaker than your adversary -- if you don't have the power to forgive, but you lie and say that you did.

Interesting point.  Thoughts?

TV FAB: Star Jones RETURNS To "The View", Says Her Departure Was UGLY (VIDEO)

Posted: 22 Feb 2012 11:43 AM PST

After a five year absence, Star Jones returned to "The View" today, as a guest, for a semi-uncomfortable interview about her weight, heart disease and why she left the show.  Watch it inside.....

It wasn't always pretty, but Star Jones faced the ladies of "The View" today helping raise awareness about heart disease, gastric bypass and talking about her departure 6 years ago.

Barbara Walters commented: "I say this genuinely: I am so happy to welcome back Star Jones."

SIDEBAR:  How geniune it came off is up for debate.

Star commented on the past five years saying, "You've got a new  new couch...you've got two black girls. Sherri and I are not the same person. Elisabeth had more children. Joy got married!"

Star tried to stop Ms. Walters when she tried to talk about the past saying, "Are we really going to go here, Barbara? Do we care at this point?! I honestly don't."

But Star went ahead and said the reason she left the show the way she did was (in addition to her contract just not being renewed), "It was ugly. ... It was a bad emotional time.  I made the decision that I wanted to go out on my own terms."

Then Barbara talked about Star's gastric bypass saying,

"Just to clear it up, we tried to protect you.  We did lie! (Joy Behar also interjected that Star asked them to lie about the gastric bypass.) We were very worried about you.

Babs later added, "You look great. You look healthy. And we really are happy that you're back."

Also, Star's book Satan Sisters, is being made into a VH1 movie that will be produced by Suzanne de Passe.

NEW GIGS: Idris Elba Set To Play Nelson Mandela In New Biopic+Rachel Crow Nabs Nickelodeon Deal!

Posted: 22 Feb 2012 10:29 AM PST

Idris Elba just made the announcement he will indeed be playing political icon Nelson Mandela in a brand new biopic shooting this summer.  Deets on the British imports' newest gig, plus X Factor finalist Rachel Crow gets the last laugh...

Idris revealed in a recent interview with HipHollywood.com:

"My big project this year, I'm gonna go play Nelson Mandela in Long Walk To Freedom, which is his official book. That's where my head is geared to this summer."

Long Walk to Freedom is autobiographical work written by Nelson Mandela himself, which highlights his early life, coming of age, education and 27 years in prison.

This new film is in addition to a 6-part TV miniseries in development titled Madiba, on the life of Nelson Mandela, which Idris is also set to star in.

There's still no press release or official confirmation from a studio, but at least we know both the movie and mini series are happening.  You feelin' Big Driis as Mandela?

And remember 14-year-old "X Factor" finalist Rachel Crow?

Well Nickelodeon just signed the singing sensation to an overall talent deal. As part of the new pact, Nick is developing a comedy series for Rachel.  And additionally, she's now signed to Columbia Records.

“It’s such an honor to be signed to Columbia Records.  To think that I am signed to the same label as my idols is a dream come true. I can’t wait to get in the studio and start making music. And I am so excited to now be a part of the Nickelodeon family. I grew up watching Nick, and I’m a huge fan.”

In addition to plans for her to star in a new pilot for Nick, Crow is slated to appear in a recurring role in Nickelodeon’s new comedy series FRED: THE SHOW appearing opposite Lucas Cruikshank. Crow will play Starr, an imaginative, confident but awkward teenager.

Congrats!
