CANDIDS: Nicki Counts Out Cash At Chanel, Rihanna & Chris Brown Hit The Studio

Rihanna, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj (with a Louis Vuitton backpack full of cash) are all gearing up for tomorrow night's Grammys.  And they were spotted making their rounds in L.A. yesterday.  Pics inside....

She works hard for the money!  Nicki Minaj was spotted counting dollars before hitting up Chanel, Giuseppe Zanotti, and other luxe stores in L.A. yesterday.  Because credit cards just aint good enough:

The rap chick, nominated for 3 statues, is prepping for her Grammy performance where she's debuting her new track "Roman Holiday."

Rihanna loves her camo.  She was spotted leaving the studio with her assistant yesterday in her fatigues and cropped shirt and camo hat.  And her Adidas sneakers to boot:

She's nominated for 4 awards, including Album of the Year for LOUD, and is set to hit the stage with Coldplay.

And Breezy's prepping for his first Grammy return since 2008 (the night before the 2009 Grammys is where the big scandal went down so neither performed).  He was spotted arriving to a recording studio rocking AMBIG skater gear with his homie (this smedium sweatshirt though):

The cheetah print Adidas sneaker rocking singer joining Foo Fighters, Lil Wayne, David Guetta and deadmau 5 for a performance highlighting dance and electronica music for the first time on the Grammy Awards show stage.

RAPPER'S DELIGHT: Diggy Simmons Surprises School Girls In ATL+Tyga Becomes New Reebok Spokesman

Diggy Simmons rolled into the Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy in Atlanta ahead of last night's Life of A JetSetter tour kick off.  And he surprised the girls with an "Unexpected Arrival."  Video inside, plus Tyga landed a Reebok deal....

16-year-old Diggy, who is nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding New Artist, teamed up with V-103 Atlanta's Ryan Cameron to give a group of school girls the surprise of their life.  Before hitting the stage for his tour sop in Atlanta last night, he rolled into the Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy to chat with the girls.  While they lost their minds as expected, they had the chance to ask him a few questions during the auditorium meet and greet.

And whomever actually asked a question, was surprised with tickets to the concert.  Sweet!  Check the video:

By the way, cutie Diggy is fresh off the Scream tour and will be joined by Jacob Latimore, The OMG Girlz, Jawan Harris and rap duo TK-N-Ca$h for the Life of a JetSetter tour.

In other rap news, "Rack City" rapper Tyga is dipping into the shoe world:

 

The stripper loving Young Money recording artist was spotted on the streets of Hollywood yesterday, filming a commercial for Reebok set for a March release.

He reportedly signed a seven figure deal with the shoe company--including his own custom shoe, as well as a collaboration with Reebok and his own clothing line Last Kings. The partnership is set to feature Careless World Tour jackets named after his first Young Money Entertainment studio album.

His album, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, is comes out Febuary 21st, which is also the day his tour kicks off in the ATL. Throwin' hunneds....hunneds....

With her newest album Here I Am declaring her independence and womanhood, some people would say that this was the first year that Kelly Rowland had her own "Diana Ross" moment. Come inside and celebrate Kelly Rowland serving up style and fabulousness in the gallery.

Kelly Rowland played second fiddle to no one this year as she had hit records both in the US and the UK, and raised her own celebrity profile with a stint on the successful UK version of "X Factor."

She was even presented with a plaque, while being honored during last week's ESSENCE's Black Women In Music event, for selling over 1 million units of her single "Motivation."

And with a hot "ab workout" video and an acting career to boot, Kelly declared she's indeed here to stay.  Not to mention, her look channels perfection without even trying.

Ray-J Says He Was SEXMATIZED By 'KK," Speaks On Relationship With Whitney

Ray-J wants to teach everyone how to have a successful relationship.  So he wrote a book, Death of the Cheating Man: What Every Woman Must Know About Men Who Stray, where he talks about being sexmatized by a certain girl in his past he calls "KK."  And he doesn't leave out both of their infidelities, their lies, and why that type of relationship didn't work. Check out his interview inside...

 

Ray chatted with Kevin Frazier of "The Insider" on why he wrote this book (because he's going through a point of growth in his life and wants to recognize why things happened in his past), his romantic relationship with Whitney Houston (which he tries to not say whether they have a physical intimate relationship), and his addictive relationship with a certain girl he only reveals as "KK."

Now while it's extremely obvious he's talking about his former sex tape partner Kim Kardashian, Ray still tries to say he didn't want the focus to be on the person but the situation--so it could be about "anyone." (Whatevs Ray. We all know damn well who this is.)  Peep the vid above, and the transcript of the parts that matter below:

Kevin Frazier: Tell me about the girl in the book. You say she literally hypnotized you with sex.

Ray-J: Absolutely.  I was hypnotized.  Waking up in the morning with toothpaste already on the toothbrush, a warm towel all ready to go to wash your face.  Just certain different perks of being with a woman like that could really trap you into an emotional world that's hard to get out of.

The relationship with KK ended because we just felt like, you know, were friends and honest with each other.  But as far as our commitment as a one on one relationship, that just wasn't working. 

............

As far as sex, it was intense.  As far as the relationship with KK, it was a roller coaster ride of fun and emotions and infidelity and lies...from both ends.  We were the same person, we lived the same life, we lied the same, we cheated the same.  We were the same person just in different forms.

At the end of the day, it was a clash.

Kevin Frazier: So she knew you were having sex with other people and you knew you were having sex with other people?

Ray: Exactly. And she knew the same.

 

And no, he still won't admit who actually really released that sex tape.  But sexmatized by toothpaste and a washcloth?  Really? Ok.

Precious!  Beyonce Knowles & Shawn Carter said NO THANKS to the mags offering tons of cash for the first pics of Baby Blue Ivy.  Instead, the Carters took full control and created a brand new tumblr account just for Baby Blue.  It's called HelloBlueIvyCarter.tumblr.com.

These are the very first pictures the world has seen of their new bundle of joy, who is hands down the most popular baby on earth right now.

Trey Songz & His New Boo Get KISSY At The Cavs Game

Trey Songz rolled into Cleveland this week for his Anticipation tour stop.  But before he took the stage last night with Big Sean, he was spotted cupcakin' courtside at the Cavs game with a new boo.

The twosome hit up the sidelines of the Cleveland Cavaliers game.  And just like something out of a cheesy romantic movie, he showed her the ins and outs...of the game.  And the two seemed pretty darn happy with each other:

Chris Draft Opens Up About Losing Wife Keasha To Cancer, Sends Valentine's Message To Her

Previously, we told you about the amazing love story of former NFLer Chris Draft who lost his beloved wife Lakeasha (Keasha) Rutledge (of one month)  to lung cancer.  Now, Chris is opening up about her life, their love and sharing memories of Keasha.  Read more inside........

 

Chris Draft recently spoke to ESSENCE about the love of his life, professional cheerleader Keasha Rutledge, who passed away one month after their marriage from lung cancer.  

Keasha, a healthy non-smoker, had been diagnosed a year before her death and it seemingly came out of nowhere.  Chris recently shared what the couple’s last year together was like and how Keasha would have wanted to be remembered.

ESSENCE.COM: Since your wife’s passing, you’ve shown such strength and shared so much of her life with the world. Why did you choose to share her story in this way?
CHRIS DRAFT: We put the pictures up [online] so people could really see the life in her, not just how she passed away. We want people to see that her faith allowed her to live before her diagnosis, and to continue to live with it, and find the joy in each day. Even when you get bad news, you have to find the joy in life, which is definitely not easy. Most of the pictures in the montage people have seen are from the past year. She was still enjoying her friends, and still enjoying her family. Yes, it was a little different with cancer being there, but at the same time, you find a way to enjoy it. That’s where you’re at, you know?

ESSENCE: You both stayed positive throughout her battle. How were you able to do that, after learning of her diagnosis?
DRAFT: It was never, "Oh, I’m just going to smile through it." Keasha was like, “I’m going to fight. We’re going to do what we have to do to go after this.” Stage 4 lung cancer is not a good diagnosis. I mean, the numbers are horrible, and to get that news without even having a sign beforehand, makes it that much tougher. She knew she had great friends, and great family, and a great support system, and she said, “Okay, so what do I have to do to fight? We’re going to fight it each and every day.” Getting the full diagnosis, and knowing exactly what we were fighting, was a very hard process. She did such a great job of really looking at it like, "Hey, I have to do this in order to have a chance to be better." She stuck with that and continued to smile, even after she went to appointment after appointment.

ESSENCE: Was your wedding day everything you dreamed it would be? You both looked so happy in your video.
DRAFT: I wanted her to just be able to really enjoy it. That was my only focus. She was able to get up. She was able to walk. She was able to dance. Dancing was just her. Her 88-year-old grandmother got up at our wedding and she started dancing, and she got Keasha back up and she started dancing too. The weather was perfect. It was 70 degrees on Thanksgiving weekend – wow. It seemed like everything just worked itself out for her. It was so beautiful. Her friends and family were all able to be there. It was a good day -- a good weekend.

ESSENCE: If you could send out a message to Keasha this Valentine’s Day, what would you want her to know?
DRAFT: [Long pause.] Keasha, I‘ll always love you. We’re gonna keep fighting. We’re gonna keep fighting! We’re gonna keep inspiring people and help to change people’s lives, I promise.

ESSENCE: How would she want you to live your life and honor her legacy?
DRAFT: She wanted to be an inspiration to other people. She really wanted to try to make sure that people saw her for who she was and to see a woman with a beautiful spirit. I have to finish making sure everything is in order as I move forward. She would want me to be happy, to smile, and to move forward and stay close with her family and friends. That’s what I’m doing.

ESSENCE: What's next for Team Draft?
DRAFT: Right now, with Team Draft our goal is to change the face of lung cancer. We want people to see that anybody can get lung cancer, and the cure for it is just as critical as breast cancer, or any cancer. We’ve got to find a way to identify it earlier. She was this strong, healthy woman, who was all of a sudden short of breath. Had she caught it during stage 3, instead of 4, it could have really increased her chances of survival. We’re going to celebrate her life and the type of person she was and we want others to grab hold of her spirit and make a difference. There’s no clear answer in terms of what can be done to identify it early enough. Keasha didn’t smoke, she was a dancer, she was fit, and she was healthy. That’s why people need to see faces like hers and continue to be inspired. We want to build an excitement about making a difference. I want to put a picture of Keasha right in front of researchers' faces, so when the doctors and scientists are doing their research, they see her right there smiling, and it can hopefully give them that little extra push. If we could push things ahead, and give someone else another week, it makes a huge difference. Team Draft was launched at our wedding. She wanted to fight. She wanted to stand up. Continuing this allows her to do that.

Nicki Minaj GOES GREEN For PAPER Magazine

In the upcoming Spring Issue of Paper magazine, Nicki Minaj ditched her usual pink barbie-tastic hair for a green version that just screams Easter.  Check out the pics and highlights of her interview with the mag with creative ambassador-at-large of Barneys New York, Simon Doonan.....

Well this was revealing,  In her new spread with PAPER magazine, Nicki revealed that she the wore nothing but a pink tee and a pink thong during the interview, her track "Dance (A$$)" with Big Sean is her freakiest track on her iPod, and her fave reality shows are "Mob Wives," and Real Housewives of ATL & Beverly Hills. (Yes, she's just as confused as to WHAT Big Ange is exactly.)

On handling her fame:
“Success came and now that so many eyes are on me, I feel I have to deliver. And it’s a business. No joke. I guess I am stressing more than I should be, and I think I am becoming more guarded.”

On sitting next to Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour at New York Fashion Week:
“I was screaming out loud inside my head. Me sitting next to the Queen of Vogue! It was such a strange experience. I felt like I was dreaming. And I thought she would be snobby or something. But she was so incredibly sweet to me.”

On the new album:
“The album is like a collage of all my emotions. I am not sticking to any particular style. I am doing what I feel without restrictions. So it’s very free and very me.”

The funniest part of the interview:

Last night, Mary J. Blige hit the stage and helped kickout Grammy weekend with a stellar performance for the Belvedere RED Pre-Grammy Party.  See pics of Mary, Kelis and Forest Whitaker inside.....

Last night, Kelis and her new friend Paris Hilton hit up the Belvedere RED Pre-Grammys Party held at Avalon in Hollywood.

Kelis showed up in a gold-studded leather jacket with snake-skin boots/socks!

She kicked it with DJ Rashida.

This outfit though KeKe...

Mary J. Blige set it off last night with a concert at the party.  I see she pulled out her shortest sparkliest dress for the occasion.

 

Mary posed with comedian Chelsea Handler who is a big fan of Belvedere.

Then Mary hit the stage and tore it down as usual.

Kim Porter was spotted on the carpet looking nice as well.

And Forest Whitaker posed with Mary during her THIRD outfit change.

She also chatted it up with Forest's wife Keisha and her husband Kendu was there too of course.

MC Lyte was there.....her body looks amazing!

She posed with Sheila E who also performed.

Melody Thornton didn't exactly pull off the vintage look she was going for but we still love her.

And BET's Rocsi was also there in her two-toned nude spike toe Louboutins.

EXCLUSIVE PICS: Zaire Wade's BIG FABULOUS SPORTY 10th BIRTHDAY--Hosted By Daddy Dwyane!

Like father like son!  Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade threw a big fabulous 10th birthday party for his oldest son Zaire.  And how else would an NBA champ and 8-time All-Star celebrate his sport-loving offspring's big day?  With a sporty football & basketball bash that'll make all his classmates jealous.

It pays to have an NBA star for a dad.  When Zaire's outdoor 10th birthday bash got rained out this week, they moved it inside to his dad's job--the family room and practice court at the American Airlines Arena.

Zaire’s All-Star themed birthday gathering included his closest friends and family--including Dwyane Sr. (Dwyane’s Dad), Jolinda Wade (Dwyane’s Mom), Dada (Dwyane’s nephew), Tragil Wade (Dwyane’s Sister), and Zaire's 4-and-a-half-old brother Zion. 

The 50 boys and girls rocked a game of flag football--officiated by D-Wade's former NFL friends Patrick Surtain, Sam Madison, Oronde Gadsden, and Daryl Porter.

The kiddies copped personalized football jerseys, towels and basketball jerseys with "Zaire's 10th Birthday" stitched on the front after their b-ball game.  The games even kicked off with someone singing the national anthem and 40 cheerleaders cheered from the sidelines and did half time shows for both events.

Later, the birthday boy was presented with an amazing basketball and football themed birthday cake.

And if that wasn't enough, the doting dad surprised Zaire with tickets to the Miami HEAT game on Tuesday night with his favorite group, Mindless Behavior. Oh to be a 10-year-old boy...
