Bobby Brown ARRIVES To Check On Bobbi Kris + More Last Footage Of Whitney Houston

Posted: 13 Feb 2012 07:37 AM PST

Amid reports that his daughter had been rushed to the hospital with panic attacks (and "maybe" her own suicide attempt), Bobby Brown and his fiance Alicia Etheridge arrived to a hectic scene at LAX yesterday. See the pics inside and get deets on what's happening with the case and with Bobbi Kris. Also watch Whitney's performance with Kelly Price shortly before she passed.

Bobby Brown was met with chaos at LAX yesterday as he arrived after cancelling his show with New Edition in Nashville.  He flew back to Los Angeles to be with his daughter Bobbi Kristina (who has been distraught since her mom's passing).

Bobby and Alicia (their son was also with them) were picked up by singer Macy Gray in a stretch Maybach.  Hopefully being with her father with provide Bobbi Kris with the support she needs.

Meanwhile, other details have emerged in the Whitney Houston investigation as well.

  • Sources report that Bobbi Kristina almost drowned in the same bathtub her mom was found in the day before.
  • Bobbi Kris has been hospitalized twice since her mom's passing and family fears she could be suicidal.  They are considering seeking help.
  • Though water was found in Whitney's lungs, it was not enough (drowning) to be the sole cause of death.
  • L.A. County Coroner officials told the family the singer appears to have died from a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol. Autopsy is complete but official COD will not be released until toxicology reports are complete.

Robyn Crawford, one of Whitney's lifelong best friends, penned an open letter about their friendship.  Read a snippet here:

I met her when she was 16. It was at a summer job. I was working at a community center in East Orange, New Jersey, and she was working just like the rest of us. She was there to work. She introduced herself as "Whitney Elizabeth Houston," and I knew right away she was special. Not a lot of people introduced themselves with their middle names back then. She had peachy colored skin and she didn't look like anyone I'd ever met in East Orange, New Jersey.

She was nothing like the Whitney Houston she became but at the same time she was already there. She knew, and so did everyone around her. She was doing shows in Manhattan with her mother, and she'd change her clothes in the car and get on stage and do her thing. She hadn't signed her contract yet. But she was modeling for Wilhelmina because she was discovered on the street. She was walking in front of Carnegie Hall and someone walked up to her and said, "There's a modeling agency upstairs that's looking for someone just like you." She walked upstairs and they signed her. That's what it was like, that's what she gave off. She looked like an angel. When my mother first met her, she laughed and said, "You look like an angel, but I know you're not." And she wasn't. But she looked like one.

She chose the life she lived, and she chose it from the beginning. She knew the life better than anyone. Her mother was Cissy Houston, and she had been on the road with Dionne Warwick. She got her chops singing in church, and her mother said to her, "You know, you can always sing for free. You can always sing in church. You don't have to choose the professional life." But she chose because she'd been chosen. Some people sing just because. She was never like that. She had to put on her gear. She knew it was going to be a job and that's how she treated it. Once she committed to something, she finished it. Not long after I met her, she said, "Stick with me, and I'll take you around the world." She always knew where she was headed.

Also, Whitney gave one of her last live performances alongside Kelly Price at Tru Hollywood last Thursday night.

The evening was called Kelly Price & Friends Unplugged: For the Love of R&B and the duo sang "Yes Jesus Loves Me."  Kelly said she hadn't asked Whitney to sing, but she decided to come on stage and kelly says she was absolutely honored.

DO WE LOVE IT?! Ameriie Shows Off New Short Coif!

Posted: 13 Feb 2012 06:55 AM PST

When she debuted this new look at Ne-Yo's Midnight Pre-Grammy brunch this weekend, we thought maybe she was rocking a ponytail in the back.  But we've learned Ameriie has gone from long gorgeous locks to a fresh bang-heavy pixie cut.

Decide if we love it inside...

Amerie chilled with her girls--including Power 105's Angela Yee--out and about.  And while we can't confirm if it's simply a wig she's having fun with, or if she actually took the plunge and cut it.

Wouldn't be surprised if she did go for a dramatic real change-up.  So...

DO WE LOVE IT?!

DO WE LOVE IT?! Ashanti's TOTALLY Sheer & Revealing FALGUNI AND SHANE PEACOCK Look

Posted: 13 Feb 2012 05:08 AM PST

Oh Ashanti.  Have we gone down the ever beaten path of I-Need-To-Get-Obnoxiously-Naked-To-Get-Attention?  Decide if we love  "The Woman You Love" singer's NYC Fashion Week getup inside...

She may have a bangin' body and all...but is this the right way to show it?  Ashanti, who will perform on "Good Morning America" today, rolled to the Falguni and Shane Peacock Fall 2012 show on Sunday in the designer's sheer paneled multi-colored uber revealing dress.

And we're not sure if she's channeling Pocahontas or just her own concoction of strategic covering.  But:

You decide.

DO WE LOVE IT?!

BONUS: Ashanti also sang the National Anthem at the Lakers VS. Knicks game at MSG this past Friday.  And here's a pic of her and her ruffles and blue pumps:

VIDEO: Nicki Minaj LEVITATES & EXORCIZES For "Roman Holiday" GRAMMY Performance

Posted: 12 Feb 2012 11:12 PM PST

Nicki Minaj "rapped" while suspended in mid-air (never seen that before) on the Grammys Sunday night for an over-produced performance of "Roman Holiday." Watch it inside....

Nicki Minaj (who arrived with "The Pope" & Sarafee) gave a churchy performance of "Roman Holiday" at the Grammys tonight.  And it seemed like she was attempting to do the 2012 even more controversial version of Madonna's "Like A Prayer."

There's a fine line between creativity and hoopla because you can. The performance was ahrd to follow, especally witht he minute and a half "mini movie" she showed and then switched into levitation and holy water for the on stage performance.

Grab your Bibles and watch the performance here:

GRAMMY VIDEO: Jennifer Hudson Sings "I Will Always Love You" In Tribute To Whitney Houston

Posted: 12 Feb 2012 10:12 PM PST

Asked to perform a task that many would feel is impossible, Jennifer Hudson took the stage at Sunday night's GRAMMY Awards to pay tribute to the late Whitney Houston.

Pics and video from her performance inside...

Jennifer looked wonderful in this look she decided to take the stage in.  And she tapped into her stage presence to perform a 2 minute rendition of Whitney's "I Will Always Love You."

It was definitely heartfelt and her own spin on a classic.  It was more simplistic than Jen's usual but beautiful.  No one else was added to the tribute, including Chaka Khan.  And afterwards, Jen seemed emotional as she got a Standing O.

Here's the video below:

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Adele & Bruno Mars ROCK THE GRAMMYS

Posted: 12 Feb 2012 09:44 PM PST

Bruno Mars was up for 5 awards tonight.  And he hit the stage decked out in a gold blazer to perform his hit single "Runaway."  And Ms. Adele took over the whole GRAMMY Awards by sweeping all 6 of her categories.  And performed "Rolling In The Deep."  Vids inside...

Talk about a comeback!  23-year-old Adele sang her most popular track to date, "Rolling In The Deep," (which has also been remixed heavily by the hip hop/urban set) at Sunday night's GRAMMY Awards.  And it was the bluesy Brit's first big live performance since she underwent vocal cord surgery months ago.  And clearly....chick isn't struggling in the least bit.

Standing O.  Loves her.

26-year-old Bruno Mars was another one of our faves of the night.  He likes to keep his performance style old school with a James Brown flare.  And he rocks it.

Check out "Runaway" below:

Check out Rih hitting the stage and dueting with Coldplay inside...

That voice was not it tonight.  But not only did she take home 2 GRAMMYS for Best Rap Song & Best Rap/Sung Callabo for "All Of The Lights," she looked hot and had fun hopping around the stage.  She opened with an energetic performance of "We Found Love."

And then she was joined by Chris Martin and his band Coldplay for their new collabo "Princess of China."

In other Alicia news, her Broadway production she scored the original music for and Executive Produced, Stick Fly, is closing Feb. 26th--after only a 3 month run.  It's a grat production you should indeed see before it closes.

Chris Brown made a triumphant return to the Grammy stage this evening performing 'Turn Up the Music' and 'Beautiful People.'  And that was just his first performance.  Watch it inside....

With the stage lit up like the boxes of a 1980s arcade game, Chris Brown showed off some stellar footwork as he jumped, kicked and danced it up for his big comeback.  And even copped the award for Best R&B album for Fame.

He followed it up, in his smedium pants we are NOT mad at and letterman's jacket, with a performance of "Beautiful People."

Watch the performance above.

RED CARPET FAB: Rihanna, Kelly, Adele, Taraji, Wiz & Amber & More Hit The 2012 GRAMMYS

Posted: 12 Feb 2012 06:14 PM PST

Rihanna was among the fabulous celebs who was the red carper for tonight's 2012 Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in LA.  See fab pics of Alica Keys, Kelly Rowland and others inside.....

Rih brought her daddy and little bro Rajad as her dates for the carpet.

The "Cheers" singer shook things up on the red carpet in this revealing Armani gown that she designed with Mr. Armani himself.  And paired it with black Louboutin pumps, Neil Lane jewelry, and a gold Jimmy Choo clutch.  She said on the red carpet that he's starting to trust her designs more.

Rihanna's dress is simple but it simply screams sex!

She caught up with the "Super Bass" girls Sophia Grace & Rosie on the red carpet too.  Cute!

Nicki Minaj arrived with a Roman Catholic priest in a daring red Atelier Versace Couture "costume" with the Versace Medusa embellished on it. Bishop Long must have been busy.

I love Taraji P. Henson, but she should have chosen a more flattering dress because she can pull off a hot dress.  Her frock is a halter pink and cheetah mermaid gown by Brian Rennie for Basler. Not loving this one though.

Taraji also said she's working on a music project but wants to make sure it's authentic so it won't turn off her fans.

Kelly Rowland and this big hair....which she has been rocking all weekend.  And I love it.  She wore an Alberta Ferreti gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.  One of my fave looks of the night.

She posed with DJ Khaled and Rick Ross on the red carpet.

Alicia Keys (who did a tribute to Etta James alongside Bonnie Rait) arrived with her husband Swizz Beatz who rocked a bold purple bowtie and velvet sportcoat.  Totally underwhelmed by Alicia's Alexandre Vauthier and Louboutin look.

Ice T was with wife CoCo who revealed SHE has a kissing scene coming up on his "Law And Order" show and it's not with Ice!

John Legend arrive with his fiance Chrissy Teigen.

Common kept it regular with his look.....which is what we love about him.

Young Money is in the building!

LL Cool J, who is handling hosting duties, looked great.

LL Cool J arrived with his wife Simone.  Simone rocked a gown designed by Misa Hylton and Angela Dean, and her jewelry was from her own Simone Smith line.

Gospel duo Mary Mary rocked sisterly variations of black and silver.

Adele looked stunning (and fit) in this Armani gown. Another one of my simple yet elegant faves of the night.

Marsha Ambrosius tweeted about Whitney saying, It was a hard day for everyone yesterday. Celebrating and mourning "all at once..." On my way to The Grammys. Surreal. So real!

Wiz Khalifa walked the red carpet with Amber Rose who wore a Versace gown and Christian Louboutin shoes. I want somebody to sneak and check her tag because this looks a but cheap to be Versace. Maybe it's not the dress itself....

Amber added that she wore black and yellow in honor of Wiz--who rocked Dolce & Gabbana and Louboutin shoes.  He jokingly said wearing those shoes makes him feel like it's the first day of high school, and that Amber is the baddest chic at the high school.  He also said they will be engaged soon.....sigh.

Melanie Fiona also rocked black and yellow.  She also picked up the Best Traditional R&B Performance award and Best R&B Sing award (both for her single with Cee-Lo Green “Fool For You”) in the pre-show.

Kirk Franklin received 2 awards--Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Album for "Hello Fear".

Kirk Franklin looked mighty shiny on the red carpet.  He arrived with wife Tammy Collins.

And J. Cole tweeted this uber cute pic of himself with his mom on the red carpet.  I'm not even a huge fan of Mr. Cole but he is looking damn good on this carpet tonight.

Charlie Wilson.....sigh.  He's a legend so if he want to rock an S-curl, Uncle Charlie can do that.

Corrine Bailey Rae went ALL THE WAY with the ruffles in this dress by Christian Siriano.  It's actually a cute fun dress.  Kinda loving it.

Ledisi worked a sliver gown with sequins.

Bruno Mars wore Thom Browne.  And his usual bouffant 'do.

AJ Calloway broke out the white leather loafers.

And Miss Ross walked the red carpet with son Evan.

Shaggy was also there.....we haven't heard from him in a minute.

Kelly Price was in a somber mood as she was likely the last person to ever sing with Whitney.

Eric Benet and his gorgeous wife Mayte walked the carpet.

MC Lyte...wow.  Hen did she get this body?

DO WE LOVE IT?: Nicki Minaj's Hooded Atelier Versace GRAMMY Look

Posted: 12 Feb 2012 05:08 PM PST

Oh darling Nicki. Ms. Minaj went the costume-y shock-value route tonight on the 2012 Grammys red carpet.  And opted for this blood red Ateleir Versace cape dress, embellished with the Versace Medusa in black beading.  And she even had priestly props to boot.

Decide if we love it inside...

Guess Bishop Long was busy.

In a split red cape with black beaded embellishments, Nicki Minaj went Lil Red Riding Hood on our asses for tonight's red carpet.  Some loved it, many hated it.  Still have a feeling she's rocking another dress underneath this.  Time will tell.  But you decide.

DO WE LOVE IT?!
