The guys were all talking and the ladies were all talking and, you know, he’s holding court, and I’m like, who’s this guy? We just started talking and the rest was history. It doesn’t get any simpler than that. It was really just a connection at first sight and we were both at the right places in our lives and it just happened. We had been dating for about two years and things were going really, really great. I was actually doing a theater show in North Carolina and he was going to go with me to see a play I was doing. It was my birthday and we’re packing up and he goes, “I want you to see this video I made.” I was like, “A video?” So we’re watching and he’s just singing happy birthday on the video. I’m thinking, oh how cute, and then at the end of the video he goes, “By the way, will you marry me?” We started running around the house like little eight-year-olds. He had the ring and everything. It was really a 3D proposal. That was really special. Back then, this was all on VHS. It was so sweet. ESSENCE.COM: Tell us some things you adore about your husband?   Honey, he can fix anything. Do you hear me? Anything. I got a man, man, man, man. I mean he can fix literally anything. He’s MacGyver times one hundred. Not even just with the technical stuff, but any apparatus around the house. He really gets into it and he loves that challenge. And, he is the communicator in the relationship. He loves to talk and he loves to work it out, whereas sometimes I agree to disagree. Usually he’s like, “No, we have to talk this out.” So I love that about him. He doesn’t let me go into my shell. ESSENCE.COM: What’s it like kissing heartthrobs like Rick Fox or Terrence J. in front of your husband? You know, he’s human. He doesn’t like to watch it. I’m like honey, okay, look, this is going to be our retirement right here. (Laughs.) But he is definitely a man and it is hard for him, but he does understand. And KeKe Palmer's not scared to open up why she's crazy about her boyfriend, what she feels about dating outside her culture, and if she would do intimate love scenes... How pretty!  18-year-old KeKe is rocking black sequined short shorts and a purple and blue blouse full of ruffles for the VIXEN cover.  The star of the upcoming movie Joyful Noise (she sings too) gave a cute interview about her Guatemalan/Black boyfriend and just how she'll go about shedding her "True Jackson" good girl image (just a little): On meeting her boyfriend… One day Patrick [Johnson, Jr.] came to the set of True Jackson VP, and he brought Rodney, my boyfriend, with him. My mouth dropped when I saw him, and I’m just like, Keke, control yourself! [Laughs] I was 15 years old at the time, and he was 19, so we didn’t talk or anything like that. I just always had a huge crush on him. Then when I was like 17, I talked to my parents ’cause my mom was like, ‘If you want to date somebody, I guess the oldest age would be 21.’ I just couldn’t believe that she said that to me. It really almost made my heart skip a beat because I always liked him. On dating outside of her culture… I’ve thought about it. It always seemed so difficult to me because I want to be understood culturally. When I’ve had crushes on other cultures, sometimes they don’t understand. They don’t get my jokes, they don’t get who I am or my family or anything like that. It’s not like I don’t find white guys or [other cultures] attractive, it’s just I want to be understood. My boyfriend now is Guatemalan and Black, and he was raised by his mother who is Guatemalan, so he’s the only Black person. It’s culturally different, but I realized I can still find a way to understand [them]. Even though everyone is speaking Spanish around me and I don’t understand it, his mother is so kind and open that there’s not a problem. I don’t feel like I’m an outsider. On her upcoming role in A Virgin Mary… We haven’t started to film it yet, but I’m very excited because this is something new for me. People have always known me, as I said, as Keke Palmer the “good girl.” In this movie, I’m not necessarily being a huge slut, but my character is just that. She’s like, ‘I’m a sex enthusiast. That’s who I am,’ but the reason why I chose this film was because it’s different from what everybody knows me as. And this character spoke to me because she was funny, she was likeable… Even if I didn’t play the character, you would immediately love her because she’s just lovable. It’s almost like [Draya] on Basketball Wives LA. People can say whatever they want about her, but you like Draya because that’s who she is. You either like her or you don’t. No fronting, no nothing. On being typecast… My family has always taught me to have morals, be a good person, you know, that whole thing. But at the same time, when I’m acting, it’s not like I’m going to turn down every role. Like, I said I would do an intimate scene if it didn’t show my whole body. It’s not like I just won’t do this or I just won’t do that, but if they can change it in a way where it could be fitting for me, then that’s okay. I’m not going to break down and do a topless scene or anything like that, but I’d probably do an intimate scene if it was like Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps in Love and Basketball. That was classic. That wasn’t like overt or anything like that. Find out what message he sent the ladies.....from behind bars. We all know that sometimes when a brother is on lockdown, he sends a message through his momma. And Big Meech is no different. When the former drug boss got word that there was going to be a reality show based on the women of men who ran his Black Mafia Family drug organization....he had a few choice words. How excited are we for the big return?!  Brandy, Pooch Hall, Tia Mowry, Hosea Chanchez, and Gabrielle Dennis were all on hand at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in L.A. to usher in Season 5 of BET's hit show "The Game."  And it looks like the premiere episode (debuting Jan. 10th) got the thumbs up from star Tia.  She tweeted: Omg! Just saw the premier of The Game and BOMB! So freaking good! So proud of the cast!
