End Marriage Discrimination Ad is Adorable Posted: 27 Nov 2011 10:40 AM PST This ad for ending marriage discrimination in Australia is like a live action version of the beginning of UP. There’s a meeting, everyday activities made cute by love, and grief they handle together. It all goes by so fast, it’s wordless, and it’s incredibly sweet. As much as I love the funny videos groups in the US have launched in support of gay marriage like Prop 8: The Musical, I think ones like these, that show a couple so simply in love, might be more effective in convincing the public and law makers everyone should have the right to marry who they love. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston Almost Meet-up in a Movie Theater-Crisis Averted Posted: 27 Nov 2011 08:58 AM PST It’s always awkward when you bump into your ex unexpectedly, and even more awkward when you’re both with someone new. I can only imagine the level of discomfort when you meet up with an ex, his girlfriend and four of his children. Luckily Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt didn’t have to experience that uncomfortable moment, because they only almost bumped into each other at a movie theater this weekend. It seems Brad was talking Angelina Jolie and the kids to see Hugo this Friday night and left just before Jennifer showed up with her bf Justin Theroux. Without an actual collision and the shake-down that surely would have ensued, we’re just left with the opening scene for some Jen-Brad fan fiction. Would Brad have punched Justin in the face screaming, “the first rule of fight club is you do not talk about fight club?” Would the baby hungry Jennifer have grabbed Shiloh and run off yelling, “I got one!,” or serenely start braiding her hair? Of course it’s also possible they would have said a quiet hello as they passed, or even go the more common awkward ex route and ignore each other completely. Which is why we should be glad the meeting will always stay in the world of what might have been, where things are much more interesting. Related posts: Post from: Crushable |
The Craziest Black Friday Incidents of 2011 Posted: 26 Nov 2011 04:12 PM PST Black Friday violence has become just as much of a holiday tradition as turkey on Thanksgiving. If you turned on the TV Friday morning you saw the reports of guns, stampedes, and hair-pulling. This year we also saw a lot of pepper spray since that’s the weapon of the moment. Even if you stayed home you might not have been safe from the madness of black Friday; you still probably caught a commercial playing “Friday,” and now have the ear worm stuck in your head yet again. Here are some of the scariest scenes from yesterday’s “competitive shopping.” Related posts: Post from: Crushable |
