Celebs Hit The 2011 Soul Train Music Awards Red Carpet

As celebs hit the Soul Train Music Awards in Atlanta at the Fox Theater last night, TheYBF.com was on the red carpet to chat them up.  Find out who was there inside...

 

Tamar Braxton was on hand in an interesting dress to sing the Gladys Knight tribute.  She told us on the carpet, "I'm performing tonight in the tribute, by myself, and I have my OWN backup singers! BOOM!"  And no, she didn't look that plastic-surgery happy up-close and in-person.

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Cynthia Bailey was corresponding for BET.com and she was spotted posing it up with Marsha Ambrosius.

Phaedra and Apollo were also there.  Phaedra confirmed to us that she is in school to be a mortician (she said she likes to have paperwork for everything she does).  And Apollo kept his lips sealed when we asked about the upcoming fight with Peter on the show.

And we pulled Lloyd's date to the side and found out her name was Angel.  And no, she's not an artist, just his date.

Jasmine Guy and her cropped fur made their way to the carpet.

The ladies of Mary Mary stopped on the carpet for some pics.  Erica Campbell (right) showed off her baby belly as she's preggers with her 3rd child!

Common was on hand for the awards.

Amber Rose stopped to chat.  She gushed over her "baby" Wiz Khalifa who wasn't there. She said she does want to be married before having children. And she also confirmed she has an album coming out *sideeye*

Lance Gross, co-star of the upcoming Tyler Perry movie The Marriage Counselor, walked the carpet without his girlfriend.

Wow.  It's been a minute Bushwick Bill.

Anthony Hamilton kept it dapper.  He talked to us about his new album coming out December 13th, and he has a song with Keri Hilson on it (who told us she's hoping they choose that song as a single.)

Speaking of Ms. Hilson:

She looked great last night in this long grey dress and leopard heel-less shoes.

Tom Joyner--whose foot is in a cast--offered up kisses to Debra Lee.

BET's Stephen Hill was there.

So was Raheem Davaughn.

The boys all the little girls are loving--Mindless Behavior--hit the carpet.

Cynthia caught up with Naughty By Nature's Treach and Vinnie.

Montell Jordan hit the carpet with a woman who seems to have been his date.

The newly divorced Kenny Lattimore hit the carpet.

BET's "Reed Between The Lines" star Malcolm Jamal Warner was there.

And CNN's Wolf Blitzer was flanked by all the ladies--Suzanne Malveaux, YBF fan Lalah Hathaway, Brooke Baldwin, and Fredricka Whitfield.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon tweeted more pics of their adorable twins and dem babies (Roc and Roe) are looking more precious than ever! See the pics inside.... 


 

Mariah recently tweeted new photos of "Dem Babies" and they seem to be adjusting well to their life.  We have a feeling Mariah's entertaining them at home with big ballon and toy displays all the time.

Fans will also get to see dem babies in Mariah's upcoming video with John Legend for "When Christmas Comes."  She added, "I think the fact that the babies are in the video is great."

 

And I see Nick is grooming Moroccan to be an "MC."

And Mimi also tweeted a recent pic of herself flaunting her new body saying, 'I have my clavicle [collar bone] back. I thought I had lost my bones forever. I couldn't find them.'

DETAILS & LIVE STREAM: Heavy D.'s Funeral Underway

Heavy D.'s private funeral is currently taking place at Grace Baptist Church in his hometown of Mount Vernon, NY.  Live stream and exclusive details inside...

The funeral started at 11am EST where Heavy D. is being officially laid to rest at this moment.  Only family, celebrity friends and other close friends with invites were able to go inside the church, but the surrounding streets are completely filled with Heavy's fans.

We're told by an attendee that Dwight had a police escort from the funeral home to the church. And scores of media and police are stretching over a 6-block radius.

We've also learned Diddy, the mayor of Mount Vernon, and Denzel Washington (who also hails from Mount Vernon) are all scheduled to speak at the services.  Russell Simmons, Kimora Lee Simmons, Al Sharpton, and Johnny Gill are a few of the celebs spotted at the services.

Yesterday, Jessica White donned a mink jacket and unveiled the Zenvo ST1-50S at the Hotel Gansevoort in New York City. 


 

The Danish sportscar will cost buyers $1.8 million, but since only three will be shipped to the US (15 models were made worldwide), it's clearly aimed at folks who are rich b*tches...


 

Jessica has been sporting a lot of fur lately.....can't wait to hear what PETA thinks.

Jay-Z and his celebrity friends partied it up for the GQ Men of the Year party at Chateau Marmont in L.A. last night.  Pics of the fab folks celebrating Hov's 16th Annual honors inside...

Paula Patton looked gorge as usual in her little black dress and zebra clutch.

 

LOVE this dress on Kerry Washington.  The red, silver, and black frock looked great on her.

Kerry kicked it with LaLa on the red carpet, who was there with her hubby Carmelo.

GREAT red sequined dress for La.  Fab color on her and cute look.

Not loving this slouchy white tee and red scarf though for Melo.  Looks like he rolled out of bed and decided to hit up this event.

Omari Hardwick, Annie I., and Mehcad Brooks all posed it up.

Jay and Justin Timberlake laughed it up.

Rihanna Hits "Ellen" In A Snuggie & "X-Factor" With "We Found Love"

Rihanna stopped by "The Ellen Show" to tape an upcoming appearance that airs on Monday.  She donned one of her pre-Holiday gifts, a Snuggie, and talked about the type of men she likes to date.

Ellen Degeneres gave Rihanna a special Ellen Snuggie so she could get some rest over the Holidays, so Rihanna donned it for the interview.  Ha!  Rih dished about loving an aggressive man saying:

“I like men that are more aggressive but mysterious but I like a man to be very sure.  I like them to be sure of themselves and know that you’re the man. I’m the lady and the only way for us to make this work is for us to play our roles. You know, I can’t really be the man for you. I don’t want to have to be. I’m the man at work all the time.”

The episode airs this coming Monday in preparation of the Talk That Talk album dropping Tuesday.

 

The 23-year-old pop chick also hit the "X-Factor USA" stage last night for the Results Show to perform her new single "We Found Love."  Check it.

Queen Latifah Confirms She Plans to Adopt In MORE Magazine

Actress Queen Latifah will soon add "mother" to her long list of duties if all goes well. Find out about her adoption plans inside.....

Along with a new talk show debuting next year, Queen Latifah also plans to become a mother. In a new interview woth "MORE" Magazine, the movie producer reveals that

'I'm definitely going to adopt - or have - a child. I've wanted to adopt since I was 17 or 18-years-old.'

The 20-year anniversary of the death of her brother, Lance Owens, may have spurred on her motherly urges. She also revealed,

'I think the most important thing I've learned is to not stop living. 'I know for a fact that my brother would not want me to stay right there, stuck in that misery. 'If the person who you lost loved you like you loved them?

'There's no way they would not want you to live your life to the maximum, to appreciate it, to go for your dreams, go for your goals.'

Her next film, Joyful Noise with Dolly Parton and KeKe Palmer hits theaters everywhere on January 13, 2012.

And in non-YBF news, after all the cheating rumors have infiltrated the mill, Demi Moore just announced she is indeed divorcing Ashton Kutcher.  She said in a statement to the AP:

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

It turns out that Paula Patton isn't just good for pushing ticket sales, she can also move some vehicles.  The fab actress recently unveiled the new BMW i3 and i8 in LA recently.  See pics inside.....

In LA yesterday,"Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" star Paula Patton joined BMW of North America President Ludwig Willisch to unveil the Fully-Electric BMW i3 Concept and Hybrid-Electric BMW i8 Concept at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Paula recently opened up about battling her own confidence issues in Hollywood in the new issue of COMPLEX mag saying, "You don’t know who you’re supposed to be. I just hit a certain point when I started to think, “You know what? These are my flaws, and I’m OK with them. I love me! I’m doing the best I can with what I have. I’m not afraid to say that anymore. I feel comfortable in my own skin now."

 


I wonder if Paula had a "NeNe" moment and broke out her checkbook and bought a BMW on the spot. This would be new of course though. Cause we know she and Robin Thicke are "very rich b*tch!"

Since 2008, people have specualted that the pair were each other's booty calls.  And it seems like the phone is ringing off the hook.  The pair were spotted at NYC's Catch on Oct. 24, and folks say, they were "inseparable -- they had their hands all over each other."  They, another eyewitness told US Weekly that on Nov. 11, the two had lunch at Scarpetta in Beverly Hills and they were "making out, acting romantic."  But reportedly, they're also working on a film together currently.  Hmmm.....

EXCLUSIVE DETAILS: Heavy D's Wake Currently Underway

Heavy D -- real name Dwight Arrington Myers -- is being remembered by close friends and family today.  The legendary rapper's wake is currently underway at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, NY.

 

Details inside...

Heavy D has come home to rest in the city where he was raised.  Currently, there is a large amount of police in the vicinity of the wake and numerous streets around the church are blocked off for protection.

As this is a public viewing, celebs on hand are being escorted through a separate entrance.  Heavy's friends like the Wayans brothers and Salt & Pepa have already been spotted at the open casket viewing.  People are being escorted through the viewing in groups of five.

Even though there are no cameras allowed in, we're told by an attendant Heavy, dressed in a suit, "looks very peaceful."

The wake will take place until 6p EST today.  And the private funeral will take place in the same location tomorrow.

Just days ago, Heavy's autopsy results were deemed "inconclusive," but no illegal drugs were found in his system.  It will be several more weeks before a cause of death is determined.

Celebs came out for GOOGLE's big music venture unveiling yesterday in L.A.  Check out Christina Milian, Kim Porter, Serena Williams, Drake, and more hitting the Google pink carpet inside...

 

 

Over at Mr. Brainwash’s Studios in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon, celebs were amongst the first to hear about Google's new music venture that they set up to compete with iTunes.  You can now purchase and stream over 20,000 songs via their new app for the Android. 

So, of course, celebs were there to get in on the new ish:

Christina Milian kept it pink in this shiny leather pink cropped jacket and pink bowtie suede heels and jeans.

The look seems a little dated and young for her, but she looks pretty nonetheless.

The newest member of Cash Money, Busta Rhymes, was there.  He tweeted today: Real nigga doe!! Salute family!! #YMCMB/#THECONGLOMERATE!!

Kim Porter hit the carpet and event sans Diddy--they allegedly had lunch together just days ago.  Very cute look for her in her jeans and fur vest and jeweled Jimmy Choo sandals.  And she's looking happy these days.

Common recently sat for an in-depth interview about his memoir, One Day It'll All Make Sense, that covered his successful rap career and looked at what he has learned about himself from the women--specifically Erykah Badu and Serena Williams--he's been romantically linked to as an adult.  Here are the highlights:

Which chapter of your book resonates most with you?

My open letter to [my ex-girlfriend, singer] Erykah [Badu] is a chapter in my life that resonates with me. It was a time of reflection. I learned a lot about Rashid Lynn when I was with Erykah. During our relationship, I often chose to think, I’ll chill and let other people get their way, because that’s just who I was in all of my relationships with friends and family. I’d choose to take a [backseat], and getting to see that in myself while she and I were together was enlightening. I eventually realized I don’t need to be that person. I learned to speak my mind and be the man I’m supposed to be. It was a release.

What lessons did you learn while dating tennis great Serena Williams?

As far as me being in love, I’ve learned to just be myself—more of a man—in any relationship, whether I was dating Serena or whomever. Finally, I feel I’m able to be me and really know what I want and make steps toward those things that are special to me. Like I want children, I want to have a home, I should be starting a family. One difference between Erykah and Serena was that the [presence of] paparazzi is much stronger now than it was in 2000 and 2001. Serena’s a super international star and my profile [when we were] together was a [big deal] for some people. I remember when I made the cover of the Chicago Sun Times for the first time it was in the middle of our relationship and I’m thinking, This is for real. People are paying attention. But I handle [the attention] the way real men do: Keep family and personal business in your home. Now, that doesn’t mean if that’s your woman you go out with her and not feel proud about [being with] her [like it's a big secret]; but you don’t have to let everyone know what’s going on in your relationship.
